“We stopped by Ondis for an early dinner during our road trip. The servers greeted us with warmth and very welcoming attitude. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I had shrimp ceviche tacos and my mom had the Halibut. Rich flavor profile, great taste and fantastic combination of freshness!
We usually don't get dessert after dinner, but we wanted to make an exception and give the dessert a try since we enjoyed the food so much. Definitely a great decision we made! I had homemade pistachio ice cream and mom had vanilla. We LOVED it!
I would love to see if I could get that ice cream in our cities too!!! Can you franchise that pleaseeee? :)
Montpelier is not a common route for us, but I will make sure to come back to Ondis to have more of that taste!”

“I've eaten here a half dozen times and loved every meal. The food is amazing, and the old building the restaurant is in has so much character. I've eaten at a lot of places in Vermont and this is easily top 3, maybe even tied for first. Last meal I had was their meatloaf sandwich and it is hands the best meatloaf sandwich I have ever had.”

“Lovely spot that's easy to find and with REALLY good coffee. Had an amazing decaf latte with oat milk and a short conversation with the staff. Told him I was from out of town (Montréal) and he offered the beverage to me for free knowing that I had a long drive ahead of me. He was also kind enough to let me use my own paper cup! A complete stud and what a way to make someone's day!”

“Can’t say enough nice things about Red Poppy Cakery! We went with them for our Wedding Cake and Cupcakes, and would have considered no alternative. We had a delightful first experience with our tasting - Janina’s comprehensive knowledge and presentation of everything from cake composition options to details of physical delivery logistics put us so at ease, and made us so confident that we would be taken care of. And then there’s the cake flavors! She has such a lovely variety of cakes, fillings, and frostings to choose from, that really allowed us to get a little funky with it and create some killer cakes/cupcakes that felt unique to us, and a little more adventurous in flavor than your average wedding desserts. And they came out looking so perfect, cute, and delicious! Honestly, every step of the process with Red Poppy was just so seamless and effortless, and I’d recommend working with them for everyone - from novice cake-purchasers like us to someone who's getting cakes and treats every week.”

“This experience was FANTASTIC! Drove by on my 5th Anniversary getaway with my wife, and spontaneously stopped in. Tom (Educational Director) was absolutely brilliant in describing different coffee brewing techniques and learned about varietals of coffee. 10,000,000% recommend this place. Tom is a keeper!”

“Every time I've been, the menu has been almost entirely different and I've ordered a wide sampling from the menu. I've test to have a single bite of food that wasn't thoughtful, intentional, perfectly prepared, and delicious. The bar program is also fantastic, as is the service. “Let me ahare my experience …..the other day I went to Applebees only to find out they do not offer any gluten free foods that I consider truely gluten free so I left and told them I guess I’ll go to THE WAYSIDE., Which I did and had a excellent gluten free meal and they even offered a gluten free pecan pie which was delicious. “This is the best Chinese spot outside of Burlington! We lived in Waterbury for three years but moved to Starksboro, and we still make the drive for their takeout. The owners and her family are so sweet, and the food is always delicious & quickly prepared. We love the Mapo tofu, spring rolls, and sesame chicken in particular!”

I ordered online for delivery and there was an accidental switch to my order and I got the wrong one, they didn’t hesitate to make it right and they even brought it to me at no extra charge. The food tasted incredible. Wonderful customer service and I’ll be back!”

“Listen, I know it's a pho spot, and you won't be disappointed if you get Pho, but you need to order the Kim Special. It's the spicy beef and pork noodle soup with the addition of seafood. This thing during winter clears all sinuses, fills all tummies, and packs an ungodly amount of flavor.

The staff is also incredible here - during my visit, it was a team of two (Kim & Hien) serving more than 20 seats and doing so with a smile on their face.

Reservations recommended for groups of 5 or more though I saw them accommodate this on the spot.”

“Ideal for a quick lunch, this is my choice for dining at noon most days. Even lunch special plenty of food. Hot hot stir fry makes for crispy veg and tender meat. Sometimes they let me order off the menu schezuan pork (shredded) and I leave so very satisfied.”

“This is a beautiful spot by the winooski river, we ate on the outside porch with a view of the river, even saw a mother Robin feeding its young in a nest in the rafters. I had linguine pescatore which was delicious, my partner had scampi e cape sante also delicious but unfortunately both meals were light on the scallops hers had 1, also I have to wonder why some sort of bread wouldn’t be served with these dishes. I did mention to staff after and they offered to compensate which I turned down but was made sure I would be treated next time we’re in the area The staff here are great and service was quick, definitely a place to go”
