“OK – nobody’s probably going to believe this, but I am from Atlanta Georgia and was visiting Quechee with a few friends – I’ve been there before, but never been to the Skinny Pancake. I went in to get a latte to go and my friend just about crashed the car when I yelled “Oh my God” while drinking it in her passenger seat. She said, “what’s wrong?” and I said “nothing‘s wrong, everything’s right – this is the best latte I have had in years!!” And too bad we were on our way out of town! We ordered the lamb momo which were insanely addictive! We also got the calamari alongside as an appetizer which was very good. For our main we shared the goat and mushroom tarkari which tasted super fresh and had a perfect level of spice, so it paired well with our mango lassi.

“We arrived at 5pm when the restaurant just opened on the first Saturday in October, they were pretty full with reservations but managed to give us 2 bar seats. The host was very kind to give customers they turn away with a handwritten list of recommended restaurants around the area. Service at the bar table was slow for ordering as we can only order food from the bartender, who was busy making cocktail drinks for customers first. We came to try the Neapolitan pizza it was good! Love the fall decorations of the building.“

It doesn't matter if you're getting takeout.Buffet made to order takeout or are just sitting down and eating buffet there.The food is always fresh, always hot and always delicious. The staff are all friendly, all willing to help and are always working to make sure that we all have what we need. Sometimes it can be hard to find parking because the parking lot is small, but they do have an additional parking and it's like a minute walk down the street if you can't find parking in the regular parking lot.“

“I cannot say enough about our experience at Carpenter and Main. The food was fantastic, the service was fantastic, the atmosphere is great - relaxing, attentive service but not overly so. The 4 of us enjoyed each others company without feeling rushed or interrupted. It was the feeling of being in someone’s home.

FOOD
We all ordered apps, mains and dessert. We don’t typically order dessert but when we saw it was homemade ice cream we had to try it. It did not disappoint. We all ordered different everything from each other - Bruschetta, Split pea soup (amazing), Artichokes for Apps. Scallops, risotto, duck, glass noodles with edamame and other veg for mains. The food was amazing. And I mean amazing.

Nate our server is a class act and made our overall experience one we want to repeat.

WINE ETC
The wine list was really good but I have to give props to Johnny the bartender. A talented bartender for sure and one of the reasons we’ll be back.

ATMOSPHERE
There are multiple rooms plus a bar area. The rooms are quieter but we wanted something less quiet so we asked to be moved to the bar area. We also wanted to be able to hear each other talk which was not an issue. We could enjoy the music which wasn’t too loud and hear each other comfortably.

“Loved this place. Went for brunch and ordered the fruit/scone and Sichuan green bean dishes. The fruit plate was a bit overpriced given the amount of fruit it included. But the scone was absolutely delicious. The Sichuan green beans dish w/noodles was amazing. I got the chili oil on the side and forgot to add it lol but the dish was great without it. I wish I had taken a picture because I couldn't find any pictures of it when I was looking and wasn't sure what to expect. But I highly recommend it.“
