“There are a handful of restaurants that I’d seriously vouch for in Seattle/Bellevue - Dan Gui is definitely top of the list.

I don’t think I have any notes. The food was phenomenal. Everything was made with intention to perfection - the spicy pork, the tofu, and the green beans. The tofu with crispy skin and a soft filling inside was just too good. The portion was very generous, and even when I thought I overate, the food went down really well. Quality ingredients & not overly oily for the Sichuan cuisine!

I appreciate I could sit & talk for a while at this place without the server even once approaching the table or rushing us out. Once I needed service, everyone was attentive. Food came out extremely fast as well - for a decently sized menu, the kitchen must have internalized every item extremely well to be able to push out dishes so fast.

Extremely impressed. Such a wonderful hidden gem. I will certainly return and make sure everyone I know know about this place.“

“We had a wonderful dining experience at Tasty szechuan in Bellevue and wanted to leave a well-deserved 5-star review.

A special thank you to a red-haired server whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable throughout our meal. When we were deciding what to order, she took the time to explain the menu and make thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences.

Her recommendation of the smoked lamb ribs with tea leaf ended up being the highlight of the entire meal. We probably wouldn’t have ordered it on our own, but we’re so glad we listened to her suggestion. The lamb was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked, with no strong gamey flavor. The subtle tea aroma added a unique depth of flavor that made the dish truly memorable. Everyone at the table loved it and agreed it was the standout dish of the night.

The rest of the food was excellent as well—fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and authentic flavors. Combined with the outstanding service, it made for a fantastic dining experience from start to finish.

“The song selection here is amazing and includes so many different languages. It’s so cool that the machine has YouTube built right into it! We're here for a company gathering, and we have a lot of teammates who aren’t native English speakers. The owners really went above and beyond to make this setup so inclusive for different languages.“

“Got the sour veggie Szechuan fish with fatty beef, tripe and taro and it was pretty good. The spice and numbing levels are probably higher than average in this area, so I recommend going with 1 spice and numbing. I thought the service was pretty good and both servers were Cantonese.“

“This restaurant is underrated in overall, delicious meals with large portions with cheap prices. We keep returning to ordering meals almost weekly. One thing is you should disregard the inside tables/chairs are out of date, because the restaurant puts more efforts into the quality menu. Its front door is opened on the streets side, so people often missed it. I encourage you try them when you get a chance.“

“This feels like a hidden gem? The food and service were good. We had complimentary hot tea, hard to enjoy on a warm day but welcomed. I ordered the garlic eggplant, water boiled fish, and one of the lamb dish that had onions. Everything came out so delicious and as I expected from previous sichuanese restaurant experiences. The food is served family style on a large plate with one serving spoon. It can be difficult to eat the food with chopsticks as it gets oily real quick but they provide a spoon upon request. I would love to come back as often as possible if I were closer. It's also pretty affordable for the amount of food received.“

“There's this unexpected gem, you MUST try, in the U-District! It's the Red Pepper Chinese Cuisine! They are this great clean and fairly fast restaurant, that serves up hearty and delicious meals! Most of their entrées serve 2 or more people (almost family style), so bring your appetite!!! We had their Dry Pot dish, where you can choose 5 mix and match ingredients, on their menu. A Stir-Fried Noodle, with Chicken and a Deep Fried Chicken Soft Bone, with RED PEPPER! 😉🔥🌶 Everything was super delicious and filling!!! “the food was bomb but I would love to keep on coming back because the service was excellent!! The host was very sweet and he made us feel at home when we dined in.

Def prefer this over any ayce and the servers were kind enough to put a cover on our clothes while our hot pot was cooking that way it would protect it from the food smells.

If I had to choose a favorite it was probably the honey walnut chicken because it had a very satisfying crispy texture on the outside.“
