“As a child, in the late 70s, I remember my mother bringing me to the Rainbow Cafe to eat. One of our friends, Johnny Giggis, was the cook back then. My fiance and I still eat there today. The food is still as good as it always was and not overpriced and has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. I'm happy to see that the Rainbow Cafe is still going strong. There are not many of the good old restaurants left in Auburn, Washington. Auburn has changed a lot and it certainly hasn't been for the better. “First time here and we didn't have a lot of time. It was a fun looking place with a great atmosphere inside. A few locals and a few other first- timers like ourselves were seated at the bar. The service was great - fast and friendly. We had a couple basic drinks (vodka/ tonic and Titos/ soda) and they were normal good. Appetizers of chicken wings were also good. They had a nice smoky flavor and there was bbq sauce or Buffalo sauce to go on them. There was a great outdoor area also. “This is a great place to play pool on 7 foot Diamond tables. The same tables used in various tournaments around the country, including the US open bar table championship. They have a fun 8 ball tournament on Saturday night that's totally worth going to. They do take your ID to get a table in trade for the balls, so if you leave the balls on the table for whatever reason (EG, playing tourney, passing the table to someone else, etc., do remember to ask for your ID back. Once I forgot to do that and had to drive there from Seattle to get my ID back. The staff was cordial enough to give me some free table time because of it. I like this place and will go back.“
“We got a Free Bird and Hungry Man burgers, and the Peachy Keen blended drink. The burgers were good, the chicken one was way too juicy for some reason. If you’re into that, cool! “Quick to seat on Easter Sunday, it's quiet and kid friendly. Server is very tentative. Food came out quick. You can't go wrong with breakfast food. I took away 1 star because their knife is really dull I can't even cut the sausage with it.“
“I have a newborn and 2 younger kids and I get the esthetic but i could not find a regular level chair on the game floor anywhere. Wanted to sit down baddd. Also yes i came on a boxing game night( didnt know prior to arrival) but couldnt get a seat to be able to order food with a wait list for seating. It was a food sale miss for yall. We ended up shortening our stay as my kids got hangry and my patience was stretched. The games were cool and the kids gaming was what i know you all to provide but not being able to sit with my new born or eat because of an event sucked.“

He was kind, cheerful and a joy. The manager was also working the floor checking in on customers, always a nice touch.“

It's cozy and intimate with a classy feel inside the restaurant.The tables for 2 feel very small especially when ordering a flight with food. I did order the olive oil cake though. It tasted oddly like fruit cake, so it wasn't what I expected. It was still good though.Parking isn't ideal at dinner time on a Friday night, but wasn't too terrible. We found street parking down the street and around the corner. But, this area does get busy. “After flight delays when returning home internationally, our ride arrangement fell through. We went in here with a great deal of luggage at midnight, to wait for a family member to come pick us up. We were thankful for their 24 hour service!! They secured our luggage in a closet, and we were able to be seated at the bar. It was a lively place even at midnight, with large parties coming in to dine well after midnight. The service was good enough. The food was okay as expected for how busy they were.“

And the food was fantastic. We started with the stuffed mushrooms which were probably the best appetizer I’ve had anywhere in a long time. I got the shrimp and grits as my main. I had never had that dish before and I was very pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend got the shrimp fry and was pleased as well. “Hubby wanted to try something different so we decided to explore beyond our Burien bubble. This place is a gem. We shared the pear and gorgonzola salad. They split it to two plates which was nice. We also had the Pompeii but added sausage. The sausage is delicious.I saved room for dessert and we had the Nutella calazone. If you love Nutella as I do, well worth the calories. It is so good. Great place to relax, unwind, enjoy good food and atmosphere. We noticed several TV sets and lots of team spirit hanging throughout the restaurant. Not too small and not incredibly huge, but just right! OH! And Sat/Sun mornings from 7am-12pm they serve breakfast! We are anxious to go have their French toast meal! Loved this place!“
