“The Railway Cafe is awesome. My son loves trains and the entire staff made sure that he had a great time with the entire eating experience. The food was delicious and the portions were generous for the price. We will definitely make another trip the next time we are in Blaine.Kid-friendliness: They were so kind to my child and let him "toot" the horn!“
“It's a sweet little gem to get great coffee and local made gifts. Staff is always friendly and I've not had a bad drink here. Usually it takes a place a few times to get it the way I want it, that's not the case. Perfection from the first sip. ?“
“Wow, what a gem. I’ve wanted to visit this place for awhile and I wasn’t disappointed. The owners were both lovely and very helpful. Lots of cool vegan options I hadn’t seen before. Tried my first oat milk latte with one of their stellar donuts, still thinking about it a week later!“
“Finally went here, and it did not disappoint! Our food was amazing. Everything was great. The service was awesome, and the staff actually seemed happy, imagine that!100% recommend and we will definitely be back! I need to try that hangover soup, it sounds amazing.“
“Love the delicious, authentic Belgium waffles, very fresh fruit, whipped cream, and the very best coffee!! We’ve been there a few times and it’s consistently wonderful! Also tried the grilled ham and cheese sandwich, which was incredible!!! There is indoor and outdoor dining, which feels very safe for those trying to avoid flus and Covid! Great food, service and atmosphere!! A must try!“
“Love this little cafe place!Food is affordable and super delicious. The owners are super friendly and can accomadate any preferences.Usually come for lunch with my cousins and we always get some paninis, soup and the strawberry chocolate crepe!!! (The best).“
“I came here once on a whim on a break from my work nearby. I was blown away by the quality of their coffee and the coziness of their atmosphere. Ever since, this has been my go-to spot for a morning brew before work. Please, give them a try! They never disappoint.“
“Best soups and oat bar I have had in a cafe. I really enjoy wholesome soups filled with veges and bars that aren’t too sweet and nutrient dense and this place does just that. Everything is homemade or made to order. They also offer various gluten free options. This cafe offers nutritious meals and snacks that are very tasty . Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: A number of gluten free/friendly options to choose from.“
“Breakfast Sandwich is my dream. The description says bacon, but it's more of a brisket. Fine by me!! Pro tip: Ask for maple syrup to drip on the sandwich because it's hugged by two soft, fluffy pancakes. It's not toasted as it says on the menu.... which I really would've loved to try!“
“This is a great place!! Friendly, excellent service. The ambience is uplifting with their positive decor, especially the definition of coffee. There is a wide variety to choose from when it comes to the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the egg and cheese with bacon on an english muffin. This is not your fast food style, it was homemade with a twist of their special sauce that added a hint of spiciness. Sooo good! Definitely will return, and highly recommend to check out Espresso Cafe!! ❤“
“There was a cafe in Langley with a good reputation run by a Korean, so I stopped by with my friends and I was very satisfied with the food service. The muffins were large and good for sharing, and the sandwiches were not too thick and were just the right size, so they were easy to eat. Above all, the cafe latte was excellent!! I'll have to stop by again next time^^“
“Very cozy place by the Crescent Beach ….service is cozy and people and staff are cozy! It’s a superb place for breakfast /brunch for me …???I had coffee and English muffin. Smoked Salmon Bagel is very luscious !!!! I Recommend definitely recommend this place !! It’s like a hidden gem!“
“Interesting ambiance, wonderful pastries, very unfortunate drinks. This is the first place I've been to in my life where the coffee taste in a cappuccino may be an "extra charge" if not buying the larger size. It just sounds like a poor excuse given by a very lazy (and unskilled) barista. Good customer service is not their stuff...Following owner's response:I was the managing director of a coffee chain for some years and never thought of a coffee not tasting well because of the size. It's just unacceptable.Poor customer service is saying that a better coffee taste depends on the coffee size which doesn't make sense at all. Remaking the drink is the least a business can do if the product is not up to customers' expectations. It's the business responsibility to make sure that its products are well designed and made right most of the times; not customers'.I get that people can make mistakes (we all do). But trying to convince a customer that you are doing an upgrade on a bad product even if it's "for free" is misleading. If you want me to pay "the upgrade" I will. Do you want me to not screw your score? Fine, I did so already - your croissants are the best in town by far and deserve to be complimented. But I believe you're missing the point. My wife threw her drink right after we left without saying a word, even though the barista nicely offered a new drink. She just didn't like it and preferred to avoid getting into an argument. I believe we all lost in that situation. Many customer remain silent and just don't come back. So, you can choose to listen to your customers or to keep arguing... Happy to provide more insights from my learnings and mistakes as a customer facing manager. Extra "business flavor" is free or charge!“
“This café not only has wonderful coffee and food but the owners are super nice and very community-conscious. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more welcome at a café before. It’s nice to sit outside on the terrace and relax with a coffee and a homemade pastry. Plus they are very dog friendly!!! Jesse even made foam art of our pup for our latte. Highly recommend!“
“Breads are totally awesome. Their use of wild yeast adds alot to their breads and not to mention the variety. Cookies & muffins are also awesome. A great place to buy your needs and go. All in all, 5 stars for their quality and service.Vegetarian options: Lots of breads, cookies, veg sandwich, biscotti coffee....if you have a sweet tooth, you're in heaven.“
“A great hidden local gem for the workers around the area. I discovered this place and I've been back several times. The food is very good and the prices are excellent even in these times of high food prices. The chef is very gruffy and seems to know his customers well. That bodes well for the repeat business that this place looks like it gets a lot of.They do a daily lunch special that is posted online on the website and when I see something exciting I will go. I've had their regular menu item, the Schnitzel burger as well, and that was delicious and really well priced.Great lunch spot if you're looking for a good meal at a very fair price.“
“I definitely would recommend this place. You can tell everything is from scratch . The only thing I would change is the workers except the older lady. Thinking it’s the mom. They are not friendly at all. A little snotty ….. ladies learn to smile and be friendly. That goes a long way.“
“Islands is one of my favorite coffee places. The coffee is amazing. But so is the atmosphere and everyone that works there is lovely. They seem to appreciate their customers, even the ones that are there extended periods for various reasons.I love going there with friends or to work or to just sit and have coffee.Thank you for the amazing space.“
“The two lovely ladies who run this business make the place feel very comfortable, they work SO hard to make sure everything is done right and it definitely shows.Their coffee is the best in town as far as I've tried and all of their dish's are very fresh and taste delicious. A lot of love and care is put into their work. The baked goods are freshly made every day!! Ranging from decadent cheese cake to the more wholesome loafs and scones (great w/ coffee!)Many of their recipes are curated by their secret weapon, a wise sage of a baker, who is so good I actually have proposed marriage, but they say it's not the first time they've had the question.Surprisingly modestly priced, and the specialty drinks are so worth the extra buck or two (such good latte art!!). They're one of only a few places (besides fast food) where you can eat plenty and have a great coffee for under 20$.Although it can definitely be very busy at times the staff is always trying their best to accommodate everyone. Lots of regulars and a definite hangout spot for many locals. Someone called it a White Rock cultural hub and I'm inclined to agree.Beautiful artwork on display for sale via the gallery next door, and also an open mic night every Saturday, which is a great time for everyone involved, very welcoming atmosphere.“
“I live in the neighborhood and I have been coming to this cafe for the past few months so it’s time for a review.First of all it’s family owned and operated by a lovely couple Louis & Swanni who do their best running this place. It’s understandable that small businesses tend to have prices higher than what you would normally pay at a chain cafe. That’s simply due to economy of scale. Always support small and local business. The place itself is nicely decorated with a pleasant layout and character. Different seating arrangements whether you’re a solo customer or with a group of friends.Their coffee and other drinks are great. I don’t eat much here but the food looks amazing when they bring it out lol.“
“It's hard to believe but I was here and working away for nearly five hours. I had been hoping to get back into the USA this morning but work called and it was urgent enough that I had to find a coffee shop NOW. And thankfully, Blenz was open at 5:30 and here we are.I went through two cups of coffee and a muffin while sitting in the shop. Wifi worked well and the power outlets worked well. I was able to stay connected, get my caffeine going and be productive. No hassle, no side looks, no worries. I was not disturbed at all with my laptop open and the occasional quiet Zoom conversation.[Review 20910 overall - 81 in British Columbia - 1894 of 2023.]“
“We recently discovered Trendz Coffee House while looking for breakfast, and it was a wonderful experience. The barista was really friendly, serving us a delicious cappuccino and a tasty breakfast meals. The place has a clean and inviting ambiance. Highly recommended for a great start to your day!“
“The iced coffee caramel macchiato at $5 provides a taste reminiscent of popular offerings found at major coffee chains. Priced similarly to comparable options, it delivers a familiar and satisfying experience. The chocolate chip cupcake, priced at $4, boasts a classic flavor profile typical of its genre, and its substantial density ensures a filling indulgence for patrons. The cherry pie, priced at $5, presents a visually appealing treat that evokes imagery of quaint Disney-esque bakeries. Despite encountering difficulty with the paper around the crust, the pie's interior remained enjoyable. However, given a pre-existing feeling of fullness upon arrival, the cupcake failed to captivate as hoped.Aaron, characterized by his charming mustache twirl, exudes a hospitality reminiscent of cinematic depictions. His efficient service contributes to the establishment's welcoming ambiance.Despite its modest size, the café exudes a charming appeal. However, frequent phone interruptions towards closing hours detract slightly from the overall experience. For café and bakery ratings, this establishment, rated on a integer scale (with 0 representing Tim Hortons), earns a 2, reflecting its favorable impression.Although tempted to depart after settling the bill, the enjoyable service compelled a desire to linger and potentially encounter Aaron's hospitality once more.Aspirations for discovering the quintessential café experience, akin to the enchanting joy found in Disney settings, were almost fulfilled here. However, the quest for the perfect cupcake flavor remains elusive, particularly for someone not inherently drawn to cupcakes.A recommendation to adopt a retro ringtone reminiscent of the 1950s could enhance the café's ambiance and complement its nostalgic charm.Notably, the absence of plate clearance by staff was disappointing, as the anticipated Aaron's service added an element of anticipation to the dining experience.“
“The lady at the cash worked the orders alone so the service was a tad bit slow. We didn’t mind because the customer service was amazing, she was lovely and absolutely helpful with us. There were 7 of us who tried this cafe for the first time and we loved our experience. We would most likely return. I liked the mango smoothie, strawberry falooda and the chicken pastry. I’d recommend to include a pesto sandwich in the menu soon!“
“Excellent coffee, had a really good sandwich, and the staff are friendly. My only comment is that if your sign says a grilled sandwich, be sure it is. My sandwich was very tasty but was not grilled or toasted. Other than that, a great place to visit.Replying to owner - okay that makes sense. Yes that is what I had. I should have asked for it to be toasted. Thank you for replying!“
“First time eating at Cafe 8. I’d heard from a few friends that it was good so tried it today. It was a 10 out of a 10. Good old fashion home cooking. I had the patty melt with a cup of homemade ham and pea soup. Both were fantastic. ???? I’ll definitely be going back. If it’s comfort food you want, this is the place.“
“Fresh Cup Roastery Café is a standout choice for coffee lovers. The café’s accessible location and ample parking make it a convenient stop. The selection of coffees and pastries caters to diverse tastes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The seating is comfortable, and the environment is clean, enhancing the overall coffee-drinking experience. The staff is friendly and attentive, contributing to an enjoyable visit. Whether it’s for the daily drip coffee or the fresh pastries, Fresh Cup Roastery Café delivers a top-notch coffee shop experience.“
“Said yolo and ordered a shot of espresso with a few pumps of green apple for the hell of it and honestly it tasted pretty good so if they can make THAT taste good then you know everything else is amazing. the two woman working there are sweet, i like their energy :)) wish i lived around here i’d totally be a “
“It is such a cute study cafe and super student friendly. Its owned by a wife and husband I believe and they were really nice. I got a creme brulee latte and though it was pretty much like a normal vanilla latte it was still delicious. The lavender lemonade was delicious too and I dont even like lemonade! The food was smaller than expected but the thai chicken sandwhich was delicious and it was served with popcorn which is new! The chicken wrap was okay not the best but overall a hidden gem for sure! Definitely check it out ?️??️“
“I always come here for mac and cheese and london fog, which are the best things they have on the menu. The mac and cheese is very cheesy, albeit the pasta is a little overcooked and too soft. The wraps are also good, but for multiple occasions, they've forgotten to put sauce/dressing on my wrap which just makes it tasteless.“
“neighborhood cafe in Langley. the barista was very nice and courteous friendly and welcoming eventhough busy and we had to wait a bit to order. they good coffee nice vibe with clean open modern decor and not many hipsters. ample underground parking and very accessible for anyone with mobility issues. shall definitely come back as recommended by a local regular customer eating a very appealing sandwich to return for brunch as in his words the food superb and fresh great find which just opened within the year and have consistency with pastries and offerings. my only complaint is Blacksmith Bakery need more iced caffinated drinks caffinated on their menu as summer is just around the corner.“
“had the Danica Melt and Chicken Salad sandwiches for lunch. They weren't bad, but nothing special to deserve 5 stars.Service was great, looks like lots of regulars visit here. But definitely wont go out of my way to come here again. The all 5 stars review is a bit misleading.“
“The best scones I've ever had!Are you looking for local, organic, made-in-a-kitchen-by-your-neighbours, real food? You are in luck, this is the place!Like any small business that has good business practices, they need to charge enough to stay in business. And that makes good sense for what really matters, the people.Ok, I'm off to anger management before I write any more scathing reviews!“
“We were wanting a coffee and snack to tide us over until dinner. We ended up with chai tea plus carrot cake for hubby and a date square for me, we were both impressed. It was our first time there but won't be the last! Next time dinner!“
“This cafe was able to accommodate my group of about 15 people, even though it was very busy at lunchtime. The food was very reasonably priced, fresh ingredients and large portions. I had the tandoori chicken which was delicious and very tender. The homemade cilantro yogurt salad dressing was incredible. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Personable staff and lots of parking.“
“Always friendly staff and excellent food and coffee make it a favorite of mine. Their brownies are amazing, I have personally became addicted to them since I have been working near by. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxing coffee shop.“
“Great overall breakfast and lunch spot. The menu offers a nice variety from biscuits & gravy, omelettes & scrambles, soup & sandwich, and even some Mexican inspired dishes. The food all has a homey, handmade feel. A lot of the menu feels creative, soups seem house made, jam comes in a cup instead of a plastic packet, lot of nice touches. The bar has nice lattes and chai to wake you up or even mimosas and palomas if you're feeling like one.The staff is consistently fantastic and always accommodating. I dropped in one day with a large group of friends and family, everyone was taken care of, everyone enjoyed their food, even the kids were happy. The indoor seating area is roomy with big tables with comfy chairs. There's a small outdoor seating area too, which is somewhat dog-friendly. Staff is kind, offering treats and water too.Parking: There's lots of parking space in the back with a rear entrance to the cafe. Parking in the front is street only which can be difficult.Kid-friendliness: There's a small kids menu with a good variety of options. French toast, oatmeal, fruit cups, to name a few.“
