“Islands is one of my favorite coffee places. The coffee is amazing. But so is the atmosphere and everyone that works there is lovely. They seem to appreciate their customers, even the ones that are there extended periods for various reasons.I love going there with friends or to work or to just sit and have coffee.Thank you for the amazing space.“
“The two lovely ladies who run this business make the place feel very comfortable, they work SO hard to make sure everything is done right and it definitely shows.Their coffee is the best in town as far as I've tried and all of their dish's are very fresh and taste delicious. A lot of love and care is put into their work. The baked goods are freshly made every day!! Ranging from decadent cheese cake to the more wholesome loafs and scones (great w/ coffee!)Many of their recipes are curated by their secret weapon, a wise sage of a baker, who is so good I actually have proposed marriage, but they say it's not the first time they've had the question.Surprisingly modestly priced, and the specialty drinks are so worth the extra buck or two (such good latte art!!). They're one of only a few places (besides fast food) where you can eat plenty and have a great coffee for under 20$.Although it can definitely be very busy at times the staff is always trying their best to accommodate everyone. Lots of regulars and a definite hangout spot for many locals. Someone called it a White Rock cultural hub and I'm inclined to agree.Beautiful artwork on display for sale via the gallery next door, and also an open mic night every Saturday, which is a great time for everyone involved, very welcoming atmosphere.“
“First time eating at Cafe 8. I’d heard from a few friends that it was good so tried it today. It was a 10 out of a 10. Good old fashion home cooking. I had the patty melt with a cup of homemade ham and pea soup. Both were fantastic. ???? I’ll definitely be going back. If it’s comfort food you want, this is the place.“
“Always friendly staff and excellent food and coffee make it a favorite of mine. Their brownies are amazing, I have personally became addicted to them since I have been working near by. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxing coffee shop.“
“We were in White Rock for one day, walked by this shop on Marine Drive and fell in love with it! Picked up some of the BEST Turkish Delight. Later that night we had to go back to pick up more along with some gelato and essential oils and incense! I would come back to White Rock just to visit this store!“
“We read the great reviews and popped into the Yuca Tree Cafe for a quick lunch and loved it. It is a nice, small, cozy family owned restaurant. The banana French toast was moist and delicious with a nice homemade syrup mix on top. The bacon was also very tasty and lean. The swiss cheese and mushroom burger was delicious and juicy. We paired the hamburger with homemade chicken cilantro soup and love that also!“
“We were wanting a coffee and snack to tide us over until dinner. We ended up with chai tea plus carrot cake for hubby and a date square for me, we were both impressed. It was our first time there but won't be the last! Next time dinner!“
“Finally went here, and it did not disappoint! Our food was amazing. Everything was great. The service was awesome, and the staff actually seemed happy, imagine that!100% recommend and we will definitely be back! I need to try that hangover soup, it sounds amazing.“
