“Definitely recommended!
It's a simple hygienic restaurant run by a beautiful female, which cooks each ingredient to perfection. This is nothing like American food!
You can say this is a different restaurant: you'll hear your order being freaky cut and cooked, while enjoying your company. They serve the purest water (not the pool smelling tap water of Seattle), and the food is spicy and flavorful. You can tell, they care not just for the looks, taste, and smells, but also for balanced, simple and cheap diet.
Everyone who tasted confirmed, this food feels great and makes you STRONG for the day. When I hire helpers and such, I always take them here for breakfast. After eating here they are faster, have sharper mind, and zero digestive breaks or oopses at the workplace... And the morale is stellar.“

“Went here for Father’s Day dinner and had a really good meal. We got a meat combo and a vegetarian combo to split amongst the four of us. The food was great! Some dishes were spicy and some were not but they all were delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful throughout the meal. We got there after 9 pm and had no problem getting a meal that late. We will be back.“

“Sometimes it's hard to see this place driving down Rainier, but you can smell the goodness coming out of here. The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“

“Went there with my girlfriend and ordered out a few times, and I cannot recommend this place enough. I've eaten at a lot of Ethiopian restaurants near Cap / First Hill over the few year sI've lived here and this is one of the best. I think the value, friendliness of staff, and authenticity is amazing. Would highly recommend!“

“I had a strong appetite for Eastern African cuisine and searched somewhere in the Seattle area with good ratings. My husband and I got lucky that the day we checked out this restaurant, they were celebrating a family activity. It was very endearing how they welcomed and serviced us, even bringing us cake from their celebration.
It felt aesthetically unassuming and their customer service was very attentive and sweet. We appreciated their help when going over the menu and selecting the right options. We went with a softer textured meat (can’t remember the name of the plate) and the Veggie Combo.
My husband cannot eat very spicy food, so finding less spicy food options can be a bit tricky. For example, please note that the salad comes with jalapeños. This would have been good to know in advance since we did not expect that.
They have a section with a pool table. Again, quite modest in aesthetic but it looks like it is a family-friendly option where they put on their own celebratory events.
Very worth a try.“

“Brought my family to try Ethiopian cuisine (where they’re from it’s basically non-existent). Not pictured, we also had shiro and coffee. Always order extra injera. Family appreciated the alcohol selection. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was great.“
“I requested a special dish that was not on the menu and she hooked me up💪🏾. I even left my wallet and she stayed late for me to come back and get it. I love this place“
“Located far from the usual hot Seattle eatery spots this place definitely deserves the loving! Yeah yeah the outside and the interior could use some work but who doesn’t love a no frills place that focuses on you just getting good food? This was my Dad and I’s first time trying Somali food and we were super impressed! The goat was so tender and well seasoned. Perfect cooked long grain rice. We got the chapati on the side which was cooked perfectly too. Sad we missed the sambusa but we’ll definitely be back for that and the other stuff. Not sure if the guy we talked to was the owner but he was nice helpful and friendly too. They take card but I’d recommend bringing cash because there wasn’t a tip option on the card machine.“

“The location is a bit sketchy but once you’re inside the atmosphere is much better. I’ve been to several Ethiopian restaurants throughout Seattle and so far Cafe Ibex is the place I recommend to go to for great tasting Ethiopian food. I always order the beef combo. Service is good as well.“

“Hahu Cafe in Seattle is a hidden gem for authentic Ethiopian cuisine. With delicious dishes like injera, kitfo, and shiro, plus amazing coffee and warm service, it's a must-visit. The cozy ambiance and late-night hours make it perfect for a unique dining experience!“

“Food was delicious and very authentic. Service only suffered because of language barriers. Decor and furniture could definitely use some taste and updates but the people were all very friendly and welcoming despite cultural differences.
Vegetarian options: We shared a vegetarian tray I especially enjoyed the collard greens, one selection was spicy but tolerable. Be careful of the red spice powder it is not for the light hearted
Parking: The only issue was some double parked vehicles in the lot but plenty of other parking options
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome though ours weren't cultured enough to enjoy the food.
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs besides into the restrooms“

“I went a second time, and unlike my first visit, the experience was much better. The service improved, and the fresh meat on Thursdays was a highlight. Based on this visit, I’m increasing my rating and would now recommend giving it a try!“

“Ok it's not about the service, my friend speaks fluent Somali and he took me here to try the food and introduce me to some of the regulars who come here for food and community. it's not a 5 star date spot but if you can get past the looks, the food will not disappoint. It's not advertised by big signs and lights for a reason, it's a community spot spread by word of mouth not run by American capitalism. Try it out and thank me later:)“

“man this food was off the chart I am very excited to have tried African cuisine being an African-American“
“I will be making my first Ethiopian dish and came here for a couple items that are hard to find elsewhere. Injera and fenugreek seeds. The lady working today was very friendly and helpful, as the fenugreek was in a ziploc bag and not labeled. The injera looks very good and has a nice color to it. Not much parking out front so I parked next door and walked over. Great little market, just research what you need ahead of time so you know what to look for since many items are not labeled. Good prices too! 3 large injera and the bag of fenugreek is bursting at the seams. Just $10. I will come back for more authentic Ethiopian ingredients!“

“I never had injera before. It is a bit hot and sour. I liked the bread tortilla thingie. The staff was super helpful and showed me how to eat the dish. The music was a bit loud, and the place was dark, but very clean and comfy. I am glad to experience a new bit of culture. I recommend this place.“
“If you are looking for the best east African and Somali restaurant that serves delicious goat meat and variety of authentic dishes , then look no further than Juba Restaurant and Café . Located in the heart the heart of seatac Washington at juba plaza the restaurant offers a wide range of traditional Somali dishes, made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. I tried their goat meat and it is juicy and tender, cooked to perfection and served with a variety of sides. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. If you want to experience the flavors of Somalia, you are right here . Sitting in the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant, I couldn't help but feel transported to another world. The smell of spices and the sound of chatter filled the air, making me feel at home. As I sipped on my coffee and indulged in the delicious food, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience of immersing myself in to another world The owner of the restaurant is truly exceptional. Their dedication and passion for the business shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. From the delectable dishes they serve to the impeccable service provided by their staff, everything is simply top-notch. It's clear that they take great pride in their establishment and are committed to providing their customers with an unforgettable culinary adventure. It's amazing to see someone who is so skilled at running a restaurant and a community shopping mall all has such a deep love for what they do. Any diner and shopper would be lucky to experience their amazing establishment. Haikel Shukry“
“My partner and I got the Full Habesha Plant-Based Beef Vegan Combo and it blew our minds. There was not a single thing on this platter that did not wow. And even though it is HUGE, we ate the whole thing, because we didn't want to leave any behind. If you get this meal, definitely get the extra injera (which is sooo good). The worker was also extremely kind and knowledgable. It was a treat to be here, and we can't wait to go back!“

“This isn't your bs 5 star advertised review. This place is legit. It's like a private club inside. The atmosphere is authentic, the service is prompt and professional and the vibe is relaxing. “The people here are so kind and the food is reasonably priced and very good. It was at my table quite quickly.
I recently moved to this area and have just begun my search for Ethiopian food here. My all-time favorite in Colorado (Ras Kassa’s) set a very high bar…
Dukem IS good, just a bit small & stuffy & meat-centric.
Vegetarian options: My veggie food (menu item #11) was fine, tho I did think it had some meaty taste to it, from the pans perhaps?“
