“Sitting in my car shaking and crying, barely able to compose myself to drive right now. Those who frequent Auntie Irene's beware of the owner. She just yelled at me infront of the whole shop, about parking out front. It sent me into a anxiety riddened, ptsd fueled state. There were zero parking stalls when l pulled into the coffee shop. l was grabbing my one coffee and leaving. l would be there for 5 minutes maybe 10 at most. I parked snuggled up along the the flower bed north of the shop, in front of the rhodedendron/north of the deck. On the other side of the flower bed is parking stalls. Just to exactly detail where l was parked. Completely out of anyone's way. There is no posted sign saying "no parking here", nor is it a painted fire lane. If that were the case, of course l wouldn't park there. That's obvious. I was not blocking her drive thru window line or blocking either entrance to her shop. I wasn't in the way of people needing to back out ,since they have to turn the other way to exit. After placing my coffee order, an waiting about 5 minutes at a table, she came out of no where and reprimanded me like a child....She could have politely introduced herself and asked me to move. She never even told me who she was. For all l knew, she was a crazed lady bossing me around. No "hi", "hello" or "how are you?". She just marched up to me without identifying shes the owner and started in on me. I would have had zero problem being asked to move, if she had gone about it in a decent manner, that most "adults" are capable of. Her tone was egregious and severely uncalled for. Over the years, l have heard rumors about an aggressive, petite, blonde haired, older lady named Susie as the owner. That was the only reason l deduced this must be the owner, becuase like l stated she did not tell me who she was at all. But, l had only ever seen her maybe 3 times, in all the years I've been going there. I have never spoken to her or even had an one on one encounter with her. So, for her to treat me, complete stranger, who is paying for a comfortable place to enjoy coffee like this, this is wildly uncalled for. I'm a full grown adult mind you, though lve been told, l look young for my age. Even if l was young, it still would not make this encounter okay at all. l was so taken a back, l couldn't even mutter a reply to her. l ran out of the shop and immediately reparked my car. There were stalls open at this point. l had to smoke a cigarette to calm down before l went back in, it rattled me so badly. l was barely able to muster up the courage to go back in for my coffee, without feeling like l was going to start breaking out into tears, if l saw her or had to encounter her again to get my coffee. I came back in, and by then she was no where to be seen... She wasn't there to thank me for moving and understanding her concern. Nothing, she just disappeared. She ambush disciplined me and disappeared, which made it even weirder and more upsetting...Anyways, when l came back in the staff asked me where l went? l didn't want to tell them what happened, so l pretended like l didn't hear their question and barely got out a stiffled, whimper of a "thank you" to them. Rushing out of the shop before they had a chance to see me upset.. I didn't want them to think they were the reason l was in this clearly emotional state. They didn't do anything wrong, so l wasn't about to complain to them about their own boss. There would be nothing they could do about her actions, if she's in charge, ya know? When l got back to my car, l broke down in tears, past PTSD trauma flooding in. I've had experiences like this with some past elder women bosses, in my younger years. I've been subject to 3 very unprofessional older female boss's. Who, in over the years had treated me completely horribly and were very verbally abusive. One even grabbed my arm so hard she left bruising. All of them traumatizing me, using their p“

“Went to pick up a friend and we were looking for a late night place to grab food. He noticed the 24 hour sign and so we made a U-turn and headed into the drive-thru. Drive-thru is a little slow. I commented to my friend, "this place has to be awesome for the wait to be this long..." and... it was awesome. ordered the carne asada burrito and my friend ordered the carnitas burrito and an asada taco. so, the wait in the drive-thru was WORTH it. really big portions. actually eating the other half of my burrito right now and it still tastes great even after having been sitting in my fridge overnight and then nuked in the microwave. definitely will be back. next time though, i think going inside will be the plan.“

“It’s a warm local eatery with the Aloha vibe. Comfort mixed foods pulling from Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese and The American palette which make the Islander meals hit the spot. Warm season is coming, hit the patio. This is just like the mom and pop eateries on the islands.“

“The cookies here are so good!! The service was very kind and the place was very clean. I love when they had a blueberry pancake with maple topping I miss it so much and hope it comes back, but I loved their fall cookies. The pumpkin maples was very molasses-y and the caramel apple snickerdoodle was SO GOOD it was such an amazing flavor and so chewy!!! The stuffed apple cookie was amazing as well, I can’t wait to come back!!!!
I will say the pricing is a bit confusing, I ordered a half dozen and it said $16 which is a great deal, but there was an extra $4 fee, I can’t remember what for but with tax and tip it ended up being like $23.“

Kid-friendliness: There were a couple kids when I was there. But it's not what I would call a family restaurant.. definitely. Pick up a meal and take it home.

“This place reminds me of what "health food" stores were like in the 90s. Staff are very helpful and share a kind of philosophical positivity that comes from a less pressured time. I also find items that I don't find in PCC or Central Coop in Seattle. I would shop more often if I lived nearby.“

“This little place has a homey feel. It took a moment to learn how it works: there's a large refrigerated case with shelves of menu items packaged to go, which can be heated and served to your table, an unusual approach, but one that worked well. There is a large selection of teas and other packaged food items, and the teacups are beautiful and varied. It was easy to select from plentiful vegan options. We had kichree and tofu curry, along with Beyond momos, which were amazing. The three chutneys were greasy and delicious, served in their squeeze bottles.“

“Great for a quiet evening out or a nice dinner for two. Nice view of the water in the distance. Appetizers were flavorful, although a little overcooked and slightly rubbery. The pasta was wonderful! We had the rigatoni al salmone which was amazing. The smoked salmon was delightful in the garlic cream sauce. The tiramisu made in house was the perfect desert to finish things off. Must visit this wonderful restaurant if you get the chance!“

“This place has super friendly folks and fair prices and lots of cute knick knacks for sale. It's extremely conveniently located for my commute back to Seattle, so I come here fairly often. My only minor nitpick is actually about the quality of their espresso: they pretty consistently pull rather bitter shots. I can't tell if it's a training issue or an issue with service on their machine or perhaps just the beans they use or the consistency of the grind, but it's always off. I asked them to pour their shots directly over ice which seems to help a little bit but I do wish this place could consistently deliver solid expresso. If you're reading this and work there: check for residuals on the group head and shower screen, Ensure the grind is not too fine, and don't over-tamp the coffee. If it tastes sour it's being overextracted the above should fix this.“

“The food was amazing and I was given a really good amount for just 12 bucks. I would have attached a photo but I destroyed it before I could even think about snapping a picture lol. The guy at the counter was super friendly, and when he saw my uniform he said he would make my food asap so I would have time to eat before my break was over. They were just generally super nice and I even saw them offering free samples to people. I 100% recommend and will be returning.“

“With mixed reviews I was hesitant to try Jang Soo, but I was actually blown away by how good it is!
They still serve fried fish as an appetizer/side dish - something you don’t see often nowadays. They serve rice in a stone pot - also rare. They refill your side dishes quickly and give generous refills. Their kimchi tastes fresh, like it may have been made in-house - it’s not very sour like the super fermented jars you get at the grocery store. The tofu soup tastes like it was actually made with broth - and in fact, my leftovers congealed/became gelatinous after being in the fridge.
Sure, it’s expensive and the portions aren’t overly large, but considering the price of all other restaurants and what you get, Jang Soo’s price is very fair for what you get.“

“I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while passing by. It offers a typical teriyaki menu, along with Korean dishes, some Japanese options (like sushi and tempura), and even jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles). The area is an industrial zone, so workers from nearby factories frequently drop in. Perhaps because of this, the restaurant opens early at 10 AM and closes early (3PM) as well.
It seemed like the owners, a husband and wife, were the only ones working (I couldn't see the kitchen). The owner’s wife took orders and served in the dining area. I arrived around 10:40 AM, a bit early for lunch, but there were already two tables with customers, and more people started coming in shortly after.
I ordered four dishes, including Korean and teriyaki options. Typically, teriyaki places don’t serve Korean side dishes (banchan), but since I ordered Korean food, they brought out banchan. The owner’s wife apologized for the limited variety of side dishes and generously brought out extra.
As I tasted the side dishes, they had a comforting, homemade quality, like a warm meal prepared at home. The flavors were neither too salty nor too bland, with a clean taste that didn’t rely on artificial seasonings. The dishes—spicy pork bulgogi, seafood soft tofu stew, stone pot bibimbap, and Mongolian beef—reminded me of my mom's cooking, which I loved. While the food didn’t have the commercialized taste of popular chain restaurants, it felt like it was made with care and attention, just like a meal prepared at home.
This restaurant pleasantly exceeded my expectations.
- Service: Following the typical teriyaki joint setup, you place and pay for your order at the counter before taking a seat. The staff then brings your meal to your table. A nice touch is the complimentary bottled water that accompanies your meal.
- Price: Considering the generous portions and delightful taste, the pricing is quite reasonable. While I haven't compared it to other eateries in the vicinity, the value for money here stands out.
- Food: The dishes shine with a home-cooked quality, free from overpowering artificial flavors. Each bite feels wholesome, capturing the essence of genuine, heartfelt cooking.
- Ambiance: The setting is straightforward and functional, characteristic of fast-food-style teriyaki spots. It's not fancy, but it serves its purpose well.
- Parking: There's ample parking available, though spaces can fill up quickly. Nevertheless, finding a spot wasn't an issue, and it's free of charge.
In summary, this restaurant offers a delightful blend of authentic flavors and efficient service, making it a noteworthy spot for anyone craving quality teriyaki and more.“

“I have never had teriyaki like this before, most teriyaki places have sauce all over the meat, sure, but the meat will STILL be dry. NOT HERE - the chicken is the most moist I have ever had at a teriyaki place, it isn't dripping in sauce, it just has a perfect layer for flavor. I 100% recommend this place to get your teriyaki, go ahead an ask for a side of sauce, but you'll barely even need it. ?“

“Yusra & Sabah’s is a cozy Somali restaurant known for its authentic East African flavors and warm, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, offering a diverse menu of traditional Somali dishes. You can expect to find hearty plates of suqaar (seasoned beef or chicken stir-fry), bariis iskukaris (spiced rice), and freshly baked sabaayad (Somali flatbread). They also serve canjeero, a soft and spongy bread, typically enjoyed with a rich stew like maraq hilib (meat stew).
Yusra & Sabah’s is also popular for its comforting drinks, such as shah (spiced Somali tea) and maraq basbaas (chili soup), served with a side of lime to enhance the flavors. The restaurant’s interior is simple yet warm, with a focus on Somali hospitality. It’s a great spot for those seeking a taste of home or anyone looking to explore Somali cuisine.
What makes Yusra & Sabah’s unique is their commitment to quality ingredients and their attention to creating a family-like environment, where guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to onions and they always make sure to not contaminate my order.“

“We were looking for a nice, comfortable place to unwind after all day at a convention near SeaTac. The reviews for Bistro Baffi were positive so we wanted to give it a shot. oh, did we ever make the right choice. The service was attentive and customer focused. The atmosphere was cozy without being casual, stylish without being pretentious. And the food... oh, the food. We had the meatballs as an app, and they had a rich, deep flavor and the perfect texture. they were fork-soft but substantial enough to hold up under the sauce, which itself was delightfully complex. Two of us had the Risotto con Pollo e Funghi, which was creamy, with a just a touch of red pepper heat. The chicken and mushrooms were well seasoned and cooked to a good bite, which is where many risottos fall down for me, overcooking some ingredients to get the proper time into the risotto itself. Our third had the Spaghetti Pescatore, with sizeable prawns and fresh mussels and a spicy tomato-Chianti sauce. The wine selection was a fairly short list, but included excellent choices to match the fare. All in all, a wonderful find that we will return to. It's off the beaten path, and that makes it all the better for getting away to.“

“Sometimes it's hard to see this place driving down Rainier, but you can smell the goodness coming out of here. The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“

“I had a great dinner at Wally's with family (including a tween, kindergartner, and toddler). After a week in WA, this was my last stop before the airport.
We ordered the clam chowder, mozzarella sticks, calamari fries, kids fried clams, and a combo platter. I really enjoyed every item, very fresh and tasty.
This was my first time here though my family has been here numerous times. The kids enjoyed the food and atmosphere a lot. Can't wait to come back on my next trip!“
