“If you had to eat out at one resturant while at Orcas Island (or even San Juan) make it Matia. A Big thank you to Drew and Staff for allowing us to enjoy a dinner at this hidden gem. Cozy intimate setting creates the perfect environment to enjoy food that is both aesthetically pleasing and amazing to eat. Highly recommend.”
“Wow! What an incredible bar. It is so cozy and comfortable. We had the charcuterie and i can hardly recall tasting so many new flavors at once. The owner Mike made me the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. I will come back every time i come to Orcas.”
“This is a small little shop right in back of a grouping of small shops. Cole is the owner and does a great job of helping you feel welcome. He's knowledgeable and personable. There's a sort behind the artwork on the wine labels and he's happy to talk with you about the friends that created the art. We sat outside and did a 5 wine tasting. We are almost finished but will bring some wine and lovely memories home with us”
“Good customer service—had a less than stellar first experience and they quickly responded and remedied it…Their croissants are a little on the hard side if you’re used to soft, flaky croissants, but their other foods are good. Went back for their carrot cake and it was the BEST.”
“Delicious burrito with generous portion sizes. We got the pork and beef with added guac and sour cream. No regrets! One of the tastiest burritos I've ever had.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking right by the Taco Van”
“Super lovely restaurant with gorgeous views. We had the sausage, gravy and biscuits which were really delicious and filling. My only comment is there are no accessible bathrooms, which is something to keep in mind if you use a wheelchair.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp to get inside, but no accessible washroom”
“Definitely worth a stop if you’re on Lopez. We didn’t have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in at 4:30 and boy are we glad. The Hamachi sashimi was exquisite and all of the ramens we got (3 different kinds) were delightful. Such a wonderful meal for a chilly evening.”
“We always get the most delicious, innovative, unique pastries from Seabird! It is truly a highlight of our week to be able to see what treats are offered and pick out our favorites.”
“We had the best meal we’ve had in a long time at Monti. We are on the island celebrating my wife’s birthday and this was the perfect meal. The pommes panisse was insane. The paparadelle was so good. The N.A. cocktails were phenomenal. Definitely worth your time and money to have this truly special dining experience.”
“Super friendly and helpful staff - we felt very welcome visiting this cute coffee shop. I thoroughly enjoyed my snickerdoodle latte as we sat outside and enjoyed the Spring sun. A great menu with lots of choice - would recommend!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp and accessible parking”
“Best brunch/lunch spot on the island. Chef Chris makes the best frittata and grilled cheese and tomato soup! Also the chocolate tart is amazing. Thanks so much to Chef Chris and by the way he is a great photographer too!”
“We really enjoyed this place. The menu was unique and good. The Wood fired oven added a good Smokey taste. We were here in the winter and were able to eat without a reservation. Others had reservations and I can see why. It’s a smaller place focused on quality over quantity.”
“Always visit local coffee shops!Spent the day island hopping and gladly picked up a drink here while on Lopez. I was pleased to see they had an extensive menu of coffee & related beverages, as well as specialty shop related items like handcrafted mugs. It all worked together to give this little shop a cozy feel on an overcast fall day.Staff was friendly, parking was easy, drinks were cheap, and I’d totally come back.We really appreciated getting to sit and chill for a few minutes, too. Overall, great local coffee and shop!”
“It's different. It's delicious. It's food with personality. For a remote island, we should consider ourselves pretty lucky that this is a part of it. My finicky tween wanted no part of it and then he tried it and now he craves it.”
“My family and I had a wonderful meal at the New Leaf Cafe. The food and service were great. Our server, Michael, was very attentive and informative about the menu. Would definitely go back again!”
“Hidden gem found in a parking lot across the market. The tacos were very good and cooked to order with good amount of meat. The bean and cheese pupusas were so good and flavorful. The salsa they give you is the perfect spice. Staff is fun and have good energy.”
“Excellent service for the instant rush of customers. We walked in #3 and within minutes the line was out door. Moved fast! Good espresso, big brownies fresh, no stale pastries on a late morning Friday. Parking is a bit tight (not Holly B's issue), lots of outdoor seating and bicycle parking.”
“I'm already looking forward to returning to try more menu items. The peanut pepper wrap was vegan without any modifications, and they let me leave out certain veggies on request. It was ginormous, delicious and seemed relatively healthy. Can be made gluten free if ordered as a salad, per the staff. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor seating was beautiful, with a large lawn, lots of trees, and a distant ocean view. Nice lunch spot with my dog. Highly recommend!”
“Creamy, flavorful choices of cones, cups, sundaes and shakes. A line can form quickly and snake outside. The staff however is quick, efficient and friendly. A delicious stop in town.”
“Such a lovely experience each time. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Staff are top notch. The seasonal menu highlights ingredients is a creative a beautiful way. A destination in itself. We cannot wait until the next time~”
“The atmosphere is lovely. It's very intimate. The owner's treat everybody tremendously well. The servers are smiling constantly. Very receptive to your needs, some of the best Latino food fused with the local culture. Highly recommend, especially if you're on Orcas Island. Best place to goVegetarian options: I got the chili cheese enchiladas the chili relleno. I've had the veggie nachos there's salads. There is multiple dishes of vegetarian choice. Very delicious!”
“A great local brewery with some very good brews. Nice little menu to grab a bite or bring a lunch and enjoy inside or out. Friendly staff, welcoming environment and a great place for a brew and a break.”
“I can’t even begin to explain how amazing the products are. It is abundantly clear the people that bake the goods infuse them with love, and their good karmic deeds go into every detail. It was healing to my soul to eat their unique offerings. Thank you to the owners who understand the spirituality of their work. Anyone that is interested, please don’t pass up this gem of a bakery on the island. And please support local! ❤️”
“Last year, I had the pleasure of visiting the incredible Orcas Cafe. However, today's review focuses on the present moment. My girlfriend, who is currently in Orcas for business, was having a rough morning. Despite being miles away in Texas, I desperately wanted to be there to comfort her with a hug. So, I called and Ryan, the GM picked up the phone.I inquired if his team could deliver a flower or, at the very least, an oatmeal raisin cookie (a small gesture she would recognize as from me). Ryan went above and beyond, swiftly arranging for the treat to be delivered. When my girlfriend called to express her gratitude, it warmed my heart. Ryan, your assistance meant the world to me. When we next visit, I insist on treating you to a drink or two. Sincerely, a grateful and loyal patron.E”
“Very friendly staff and lots of delicious fudge options, we got the raspberry chocolate fudge and it was great! Definitely stop in when you're on the island!”
“Amazing food! Went when they had a special and I enjoyed every last bit. So worth the drive! Very excited to go back and taste more of the menu. Service was great with very friendly staff, in a comfy and calm environment.”
“the atmosphere is great if you like tavern/pub vibes. The venue is clean, there is a pool table, numerous TV sets to watch different games on, an outdoor patio, and they have live music every week (I think?)Kid-friendliness: Nobody under 21+ allowed on the premises. No baby's in strollers or dogs/animals allowed inside or on the grounds, either.”
“Walked up to this food truck on a Sunday afternoon and we ordered"The Sockeye" pizza per their recommendation and the "Hawaiian". Both pizzas were delicious! The Sockeye was amazing and they smoke their salmon in house! The crust was crispy on the bottom but still soft and chewy on the inside. We definitely will be back to try their other pies!”
“I can only give this restaurant 4 stars because they serve non vegan options, but the food here deserves 5 stars. I asked the chef to prepare a vegan burrito and they said no worries - rice, black beans, salsa, guacamole - amazing!”
“Perfect spot for breakfast/dinner/snack with a delicious menu, great options for plant-based folks, and incredible coffee + tea curation. Front of house manager, Evan, was welcoming, warm, knowledgeable. Truly made our stay at Doe Bay that much better!Dietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian”
