I bring my kids also and they have a great kids meal that even my picky toddlers will finish. Recommend the lunch time specials- food portions are large.“

“Each time I go here I get the spicy tonkotsu ramen. The char siu is perfectly grilled so you can taste the carmelization. It is bad etiquette to take out your phone when there's hot ramen on the table so I don't have photos, but trust me.“

“Our favorite place now! My order: Unagi (nigiri), Vegetable Tempura, Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Special. Dad's oder: Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Special and 5 order of maguro to go. The unagi was the best i have had in over 10 years. The tempura was light, crunchy and flavorful. My Dad is very particular about food and I am known to order the same item over and over. The service was genuinely amazing — super kind, quick, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. I wasn’t expecting such quality sushi and Asian food in this location, but everything I ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the specialty roll had the perfect balance of spicy and creamy. I also ordered a cooked dish with fried rice and beef — it was packed with flavor and cooked just right.

You can tell they care about both the food and the people. Clean place, great portions, and a solid mix of sushi and wok-style dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area!“

“Came in late on a Sunday night for a take out order and received phenomenal service. We were probably close to closing time, but they ushered us in without any hesitation, took our large order and were so kind as to bring us a few snacks while we waited for our order. We were happy to wait as we hadn’t called ahead, but so appreciated the welcoming gesture. Great bar seating if you wanted to watch a game while dining in with some sake. We got multiple sushi rolls, gyoza, and the order came with a few miso soups and edamame, all of which was heartily enjoyed on our return home. Loved the sushi boat to-go tray which made it so easy to share. California roll did not skimp on the crab. Good food and super nice staff - so glad we stopped in!“

“Picked up the bulk office takeout order and overall this was a 4. Outdated building that has an odd smell when you come in and could use some love to the interior, but very fast and friendly service. Good sized portions but as another reviewer mentioned, sauce was a bit on the skimpy side compared to in the past - seems like an odd thing to cut back on. Delicious flavor on the chicken teriyaki and gyoza - would recommend!“

“Absolutely loved the sushi belt. Only reason I gave the food 4 stars is because some of the items on the belt were a little old. The service was amazing. I believe my server’s name was Levi. He was very attentive with all the customers in the restaurant and we had some good conversation as well. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.“

“Hubby was craving sushi, so stopped and ordered a Surprise roll for him, a long with a Tempura California roll. I ordered two Philadelphia rolls for myself and a chicken teriyaki lunch. The sushi was delicious and perfect. The chicken teriyaki lunch was wrong. It had spicy chicken and two servings of rice. I was really looking forward to the salad. Otherwise, definitely going back. Just double checking the order before leaving.“

“This is my go-to place, they've never disappointed me. I usually get take-out but anytime my husband and I have gone in we get great service and they're so friendly and sweet to us. I'm a BIG fan of their bbq pork fried rice, sweet n sour chicken, house yakisoba, sushi, etc... it's hard to go wrong here. I always appreciate the artistry that the older lady rolling the sushi puts into her work. I will say that there is currently a mob of people trying to drag this business down with 1 star reviews in reaction to an unverified Nextdoor post complaining about treatment here that I find to be completely out of character based on my own frequent visits. Be weary of what you read and take the time to come in and see for yourself.“

“The food sushi at this place is legit amazing. It's the real deal, and if you're in Tacoma, want great sushi, you should totally go.

But here's what happened to me. I just wanted a light dinner, a one single roll (the Geshi roll—so good), a salad, and some miso. Communication with waitstaff isn't always solid so I pointed to the roll I wantedT. he waitress said the name of a different, way more expensive roll which I said no too and reiterated just the the one Geshi roll.

When the food came, she brought out my Geshi roll... (again, really good) and the roll I didn't order. I tried to talk to her about this but she just pointed at her notepad showing that she wrote down two rolls so that what my order was. Like I said, communication ont the best, it was super awkward and I didn't have time to argue.

So I ended up paying double what I wanted for dinner because of this. I was too full so I left it left it untouched. It was too hot a day to have raw fish sitting in my car for hours.

It's a bummer because the food itself is a solid 10/10. But the experience was such gut punch and awkward that I won't be going back, which sucks. It's great food, just triple-check your order before she walks away.“

“1st let me say..had food twice, once from order service and other in person. Both times the service and food were great! The manager is very nice and respectful along with the staff. The funny differences from other sushi restaurants are the fact you have to order everything by QR code ( so if you want a mobile device free night..not gonna happen) and your order comes via a robot! Now that I found funny because I kept on despite directions from the “robot waitress” trying to take food from the other shelves until I got used to things. Speaking on getting “used to”..try maybe 1 or 2 times order something small to get used to how the quantities are served. My friend meant to only get 2 of something and ended up with 3 and I had to eat the extra 1 for respect of the dining rules “whatever is left when you are done you must pay for”. Now the “all you can eat” bit. Please understand that the food here is really good and that they offer quite a unique variety of items to try and eat. That is the meaning of the “all you can eat” here. This is not a legit “all you can eat” restaurant . For $30 you are getting way good quality..so do you want good quality or high quantity? In this tight market you can’t really get both. So please be mindful & respectful of this. They do sadly have techniques to let you know when you are reaching “their” maximum..and after much thought…I can respect that. Overall the food, service and everything else was excellent. I ate mostly the sashimi which I thought tasted fresh and buttery when needed to be and when ate rolls I had the rolls that were cooked and those were handled expertly. My friends had the coconut shrimp which was the favorite for them and such like items. One said the ribs were tough and the fried rice was too hard. Overall I will return and be more “menu venturing “ knowing that there is actually a limit. Again..out of respect, please respect quality over quantity.“

“I randomly found this place after dropping my son off at the movies, so glad I did! The cashier was SSSO friendly, the menu looked delicious! Everything from the way they dressed the side salad to the spicy teriyaki, all of it was delicious, and I got it to-go! Will definitely be adding this place to my fav places.“

“As someone from Hawaii who’s accustomed to Michelin-rated Japanese cuisine, I have high standards when it comes to sushi—and Sake Sushi & Grill absolutely delivered! I ordered the Chirashi (Sashimi Salad), and my husband had the Sushi Bento. Both dishes were outstanding. The sushi rice was a standout—perfectly cooked and seasoned, which is rare to find even at well-known spots. The selection of sashimi was exceptionally fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. You could taste the care and quality in every bite. My husband couldn’t stop raving about his Sushi Bento dinner, and we both agreed: Sake Sushi & Grill has officially become our new favorite. If I could give it a Michelin rating, I would—hands down. We can’t wait to return!“

“Nice atmosphere, appealing food presentation, friendly staff. Minus one star because the portions are WAY bigger than they need to be. My husband ordered a bento box and was able to finish less than half of it. I got a single roll and had to force down the last two pieces. Smaller portions with decreased price options would’ve made the overall experience more enjoyable, as we could have left satisfied rather than stuffed.

If you’re looking for a large, filling meal, then by all means 5 stars! It just didn’t match our personal expectations/needs on that front. :)“

“Their house fried rice is the bomb! Teriaki is also fabulous. I am trying something different this evening. Kung pao chicken. So we will see how great this is? “oh my goodness! This place was crazy fun! Family owned, was open through Covid. Hibachi tables with very experienced comedic chefs, sushi also available. Lots of birthday celebrating going on around us. There were also some private dining areas

“Loved the food! On our first trip, we had one of the suchi options, Chulichi shrimp, the ceviche trio, and mango margaritas. All of them were excellent, subtly spiced, and simply delicious. Yes, the music was a bit loud but it was manageable and did not prevent discussion at the table. Our waitress Clarita and bus-person David provided excellent recommendations and great service. We will definitely go back and bring more friends this time!“
