This business is family owned and run. Once you experience the food, it will become one of your favorite places, too!“

“I purchased 3 items this afternoon. A chocolate merengue cupcake , a streusel cake,
and a pumpkin biscotti. The cupcake and streusel cake were moist and delicious. The biscotti had a good flavor but unfortunately was not crunchy, the texture was not like biscotti. Having said this I think this cupcake bakery is excellent and I am very picky about my baked goods!“

“The food here is amazing. The sandwiches are great, same with the pho and the boba tea. Service is always great, and the atmosphere is normal for a small restaurant. I would reccomend this restaurant if you are looking for a good lunch in the Gig Harbor or East Tacoma area.“

“I am a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine and my home I always fry my shells thanks to my Orpilla family but recently I have been on a crunchy taco kick and my friend showed up and brought me out to Tacoma and we had a hard time finding a place that was open because it's Easter so he took me to Mazatlan on South Tacoma Way and it is amazing in here. Right now they are giving my prior experience a run for its money this place is awesome!!“

“Eric and Payton made our visit to the Boom Boom Room unforgettable. Not only did I enjoy the best martini I’ve ever had (make sure you take Payton’s recommendation and order the Gunpowder Gin), but the food was delectable. We started with the Formosa Roll and enjoyed the shrimp tacos and steak. The Formosa Roll was savory and spicy, the shrimp were perfectly cooked for the tacos and the steak came with potato spirals that I didn’t know I needed in my life, but absolutely do! A true gem of Tacoma, bravo Eric and team!“

“Nice atmosphere, appealing food presentation, friendly staff. Minus one star because the portions are WAY bigger than they need to be. My husband ordered a bento box and was able to finish less than half of it. I got a single roll and had to force down the last two pieces. Smaller portions with decreased price options would’ve made the overall experience more enjoyable, as we could have left satisfied rather than stuffed.

If you’re looking for a large, filling meal, then by all means 5 stars! It just didn’t match our personal expectations/needs on that front. :)“

The pork special pho was absolutely perfect — rich, flavorful broth with just the right amount of spice to warm you up without overpowering the dish. Everything was fresh and well-balanced. I also tried the Thai tea, and it was amazing — smooth, creamy, and just sweet enough. Highly recommend both!“

I actually live closer to the Pac Ave location, but every time I’ve been there, they’re extra rude so… Yeah I drive to the 38th location, and no matter who is working the smoothies taste the same, and their customer service is the always the same, the same being excellent every time. 10/10 recommend this ECS if you’re in the Tacoma area.“
