“We LOVED the amazing options for vegetarians! Different lentil dishes, some spicy, some not. There was a cabbage dish, a beet dish, and salad that was dressed to perfection. The bread was a lovely sponge texture that held up for picking up food, but was still so soft to eat. Loved the variety of flavors and spice (or mild) in this plate! Lovely music and friendly staff! If you're looking for a vegetarian or vegan meal, it's amazing!“

Located in the heart the heart of seatac Washington at juba plaza the restaurant offers a wide range of traditional Somali dishes, made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. I tried their goat meat and it is juicy and tender, cooked to perfection and served with a variety of sides. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. “Went here for Father’s Day dinner and had a really good meal. We got a meat combo and a vegetarian combo to split amongst the four of us. The food was great! Some dishes were spicy and some were not but they all were delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful throughout the meal. We got there after 9 pm and had no problem getting a meal that late. We will be back.“

“I used to come here on a regular basis when I lived in Seattle, before the name change when it was called Chef Cafe. I still dream of their gomen— it’s perfectly garlicky and so flavorful. It was a family owned business and the main chef, whose name I don’t recall, used to be a private chef for imperials in Ethiopia. This family was always welcoming, kind, and warm. I pray this restaurant is still under the same ownership using the same recipes!“

“Sometimes it's hard to see this place driving down Rainier, but you can smell the goodness coming out of here. The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“

“A limited menu means they do what they do very well and if you're looking for Ethiopian, this is a great spot. Early evenings, they've always had a table available. It often feels like we've dropped into someone’s kitchen, staffed by family. The dishes come out with an unmistakable made-with-knowing touch of authenticity. I almost hate to put up a review, it's such a local-to-Burien gem!“

“Went there with my girlfriend and ordered out a few times, and I cannot recommend this place enough. I've eaten at a lot of Ethiopian restaurants near Cap / First Hill over the few year sI've lived here and this is one of the best. I think the value, friendliness of staff, and authenticity is amazing. Would highly recommend!“
“Okay, so we just tried this Somali place on Rainier Ave and wow, it was amazing! It’s a little off the beaten path, which was nice. The goat was unbelievably tender – seriously, the best I’ve had. Portions were huge, we practically left with four meals! The rice was perfect and they gave us a free banana, which was a lovely touch. It wasn't super busy when we were there, which was great. The couple running it were so friendly and welcoming. My only suggestion would be to bring cash, the card machine didn’t have a tip option. Definitely going back!“

“The location is a bit sketchy but once you’re inside the atmosphere is much better. I’ve been to several Ethiopian restaurants throughout Seattle and so far Cafe Ibex is the place I recommend to go to for great tasting Ethiopian food. I always order the beef combo. Service is good as well.“

“Went to Conspagna on a whim, we were hungry for Ethiopian food and this place was close and open.
Love that they were open late on a Thursday, that is rare to find in Seattle!! The food was incredible!! I’m mostly vegetarian but my friends wanted to try the lamb Tibs as well as the veggie platter. I said I was just going to try one bite of the Tibs but it was so good I couldn’t stop. The veggie platter was loaded with different lentil and veggie dishes, all so good!! I jumped from dish to dish, each time I made it back around to a dish I’d already tried it was like tasting it again for the first time!!
Not to mention the staff was incredible! So kind and inviting.
We were a table of 4 and ordered two platters, extra njera, and a bottle of Tej. Total came out just over $100 and my belly is well full and very happy!!
This was an amazing meal, I will definitely be back!“

“Just grabbed lunch at that place on S Mead St. It was packed, seriously long wait even though the menu looked pretty simple. The food was decent, portion size felt a little small for the price. The staff were all super nice, even though they seemed a bit overwhelmed. Maybe a few more tables would help!“
“I will be making my first Ethiopian dish and came here for a couple items that are hard to find elsewhere. Injera and fenugreek seeds. The lady working today was very friendly and helpful, as the fenugreek was in a ziploc bag and not labeled. The injera looks very good and has a nice color to it. Not much parking out front so I parked next door and walked over. Great little market, just research what you need ahead of time so you know what to look for since many items are not labeled. Good prices too! 3 large injera and the bag of fenugreek is bursting at the seams. Just $10. I will come back for more authentic Ethiopian ingredients!“

“I never had injera before. It is a bit hot and sour. I liked the bread tortilla thingie. The staff was super helpful and showed me how to eat the dish. The music was a bit loud, and the place was dark, but very clean and comfy. I am glad to experience a new bit of culture. I recommend this place.“

“Yusra & Sabah Restaurant is a must-try for incredible East African flavors! The goat meat with spiced rice (bariis) and tender suqaar are perfectly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, paired with fluffy sabaayad flatbread and that fiery green sauce. Don’t miss the aromatic spiced tea (shah)—it’s the perfect finish. Everything halal, fresh, generous portions, and super welcoming vibe. Best Somali spot around; already planning my next visit!“

“Just had a quick lunch at Zula on Rainier Ave. It was pretty quiet when I was there, maybe 3-4 other tables occupied. Portions were decent for the price, nothing spectacular but satisfying. The staff seemed a little distracted, and the place felt a bit sterile – could use a little more life. Parking was easy, thankfully!“

“This isn't your bs 5 star advertised review. This place is legit. It's like a private club inside. The atmosphere is authentic, the service is prompt and professional and the vibe is relaxing. Clean and fun. I'd strongly recommend this place for a couple or even a business dine in. Very smooth. I will be back!“
