“What an incredible culinary journey! I’ve never had authentic Ethiopian food before and I am happy to say that I love it! I was recommended to try this place by a nearby coffee shop barista and I couldn’t be more happy. Friendly service, simple and straightforward menu, and short wait times!
The waiter recommended the veggie and meat platter and it was the perfect intro for somebody who’s never eaten here! The only thing I wish this place had was somebody to sit down and eat this food with me! I was on a solo trip for work and the serving sizes here are MASSIVE definitely recommend splitting a platter.“
“If you are looking for the best east African and Somali restaurant that serves delicious goat meat and variety of authentic dishes , then look no further than Juba Restaurant and Café . Located in the heart the heart of seatac Washington at juba plaza the restaurant offers a wide range of traditional Somali dishes, made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. I tried their goat meat and it is juicy and tender, cooked to perfection and served with a variety of sides. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. If you want to experience the flavors of Somalia, you are right here . Sitting in the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant, I couldn't help but feel transported to another world. The smell of spices and the sound of chatter filled the air, making me feel at home. As I sipped on my coffee and indulged in the delicious food, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience of immersing myself in to another world The owner of the restaurant is truly exceptional. Their dedication and passion for the business shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. From the delectable dishes they serve to the impeccable service provided by their staff, everything is simply top-notch. It's clear that they take great pride in their establishment and are committed to providing their customers with an unforgettable culinary adventure. It's amazing to see someone who is so skilled at running a restaurant and a community shopping mall all has such a deep love for what they do. “A bite away from home. Yes for this place!“
“Located far from the usual hot Seattle eatery spots this place definitely deserves the loving! Yeah yeah the outside and the interior could use some work but who doesn’t love a no frills place that focuses on you just getting good food? This was my Dad and I’s first time trying Somali food and we were super impressed! The goat was so tender and well seasoned. Perfect cooked long grain rice. We got the chapati on the side which was cooked perfectly too. Sad we missed the sambusa but we’ll definitely be back for that and the other stuff. Not sure if the guy we talked to was the owner but he was nice helpful and friendly too. They take card but I’d recommend bringing cash because there wasn’t a tip option on the card machine.“

“Brought my family to try Ethiopian cuisine (where they’re from it’s basically non-existent). Not pictured, we also had shiro and coffee. Always order extra injera. Family appreciated the alcohol selection. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was great.“

“Sometimes it's hard to see this place driving down Rainier, but you can smell the goodness coming out of here. The patio was packed with locals from the East African community, and not a single hipster in sight, so I HAD to check it out. Glad I did. Took home some amazing spicy lamb tibs and it was so good I just had to take my partner here for dinner a few nights later. She was impressed as she ordered what I had the last time, and I had the Keye Wott (which was nice and spicy but not too spicy). Looks to be a family run joint, and the staff just loved that I came back and brought my partner here. Highly recommended.“

“The food is amazingly delicious, fresh, hot and plentiful. The staff is so kind and the atmosphere is cozy. The restaurant is situated behind the imported goods shop. My family has been enjoying this delight for over 10 years. Such a hidden gem.
Vegetarian options: The veggie combo and the spaghetti with red sauce (specify no meat) are both incredible.“

“The people here are so kind and the food is reasonably priced and very good. It was at my table quite quickly.
I recently moved to this area and have just begun my search for Ethiopian food here. My all-time favorite in Colorado (Ras Kassa’s) set a very high bar…
Dukem IS good, just a bit small & stuffy & meat-centric.
Vegetarian options: My veggie food (menu item #11) was fine, tho I did think it had some meaty taste to it, from the pans perhaps?“

“The location is a bit sketchy but once you’re inside the atmosphere is much better. I’ve been to several Ethiopian restaurants throughout Seattle and so far Cafe Ibex is the place I recommend to go to for great tasting Ethiopian food. I always order the beef combo. Service is good as well.“

“Food was delicious and very authentic. Service only suffered because of language barriers. Decor and furniture could definitely use some taste and updates but the people were all very friendly and welcoming despite cultural differences.
Vegetarian options: We shared a vegetarian tray I especially enjoyed the collard greens, one selection was spicy but tolerable. Be careful of the red spice powder it is not for the light hearted
Parking: The only issue was some double parked vehicles in the lot but plenty of other parking options
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome though ours weren't cultured enough to enjoy the food.
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs besides into the restrooms“

“Yusra & Sabah’s is a cozy Somali restaurant known for its authentic East African flavors and warm, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, offering a diverse menu of traditional Somali dishes. You can expect to find hearty plates of suqaar (seasoned beef or chicken stir-fry), bariis iskukaris (spiced rice), and freshly baked sabaayad (Somali flatbread). They also serve canjeero, a soft and spongy bread, typically enjoyed with a rich stew like maraq hilib (meat stew).
Yusra & Sabah’s is also popular for its comforting drinks, such as shah (spiced Somali tea) and maraq basbaas (chili soup), served with a side of lime to enhance the flavors. The restaurant’s interior is simple yet warm, with a focus on Somali hospitality. It’s a great spot for those seeking a taste of home or anyone looking to explore Somali cuisine.
What makes Yusra & Sabah’s unique is their commitment to quality ingredients and their attention to creating a family-like environment, where guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to onions and they always make sure to not contaminate my order.“
“I will be making my first Ethiopian dish and came here for a couple items that are hard to find elsewhere. Injera and fenugreek seeds. The lady working today was very friendly and helpful, as the fenugreek was in a ziploc bag and not labeled. The injera looks very good and has a nice color to it. Not much parking out front so I parked next door and walked over. Great little market, just research what you need ahead of time so you know what to look for since many items are not labeled. Good prices too! 3 large injera and the bag of fenugreek is bursting at the seams. Just $10. I will come back for more authentic Ethiopian ingredients!“
“friendly staff, beautiful and unique interior to the restaurant/store. really big potions of delicious food for a great price! I felt totally immersed in another culture.“

“I never had injera before. It is a bit hot and sour. I liked the bread tortilla thingie. The staff was super helpful and showed me how to eat the dish. The music was a bit loud, and the place was dark, but very clean and comfy. I am glad to experience a new bit of culture. I recommend this place.“
