“Langley Kitchen was recommended by Second Street Salon staff when I mentioned grabbing some lunch after my appointment. I had the Frittata and Mac-n-cheese. The crust & veggies of the frittata were firm, not soggy, providing a pleasant depth to the overall smoothness. The flavors contrasted gently, making each bite so wonderful that the frittata was gone too fast. The mac-n-cheese was the perfect change of pace; penne pasta and sharp white cheese are a decadent combo that will make any day better. The servers were pleasant & efficient. “We ate at Katana for my husband’s birthday dinner. It was a busy weeknight. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who immediately made us feel welcome. Our server, Kingsley, was absolutely phenomenal- definitely one of the top servers we have ever encountered anywhere! She was tending to multiple tables, bar customers, and also making drinks. She was easily one of the busiest employees there, yet she kept a big smile on her face and a kind, positive spirit throughout our entire service. The sushi was delicious, as always. Katana is consistently reliable to serve good food, but this time we had especially amazing service as well. I highly recommend katana for a family celebrating a special occasion!“

“This coffee shop is really nice to spend time in. The music and the atmosphere is really cozy, and reminds me of a more traditional style cafe.

There are a lot of different syrups on tap so you can get lots of different flavors, but the base coffee (in my case, espresso) is hearty and present, without crossing into the overwhelming bitter flavors.“

“Ubuntu Meat Bar restaurant is a nice place serving African style food in a small strip mall. It is quite small inside for dining, but we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant and had it all to ourselves. Walking in, the restaurant is decorated well and we were promptly greeted by the server/bartender/cook. You have to look up the restaurant menu on your phone to order, which my family found a little odd, but the sole proprietor was helpful when you rang a bell on the counter to get his attention from the small kitchen; he was always in the kitchen cooking for Uber and take out orders which seemed to be a big part of their business. The menu was quite diverse with dishes we had never seen before. He put bottles of cold water on our table so we could fill our glasses. He also brought us our drinks that we had ordered then went back to the hidden kitchen to cook. It was very quiet inside so we had no problem talking with each other over the two tables we had pushed together as we were a group of five people. It took him a while to start bringing out our appetizers, sides and mains in a staggered fashion as he was the only cook. We were a little disappointed our mains didn't come out at the same time, but we started eating and sharing food anyway. The taste of the food was quite delicious with some unusual flavors of spices we had never had before. We all thought the portion sizes were smaller than what we thought they would be for the high prices and what the pictures on the menu looked like. Overall, we did have a tasty experience with some good conversation and left happy. If you've never had African food, go ahead and give this restaurant a try at least one time.“

“I have had some pretty dry, salty and greasy street tacos before so I pretty much swore off them. So many of my coworkers rave about this place, so finally I gave in and tried them out.
I must say, I am so glad that I did! They were the most flavorful, juicy, tender I have had! And there tamales...pack with meat! Unlike others I tried where you woukd have to search for the meat!
The street tacos were so good, that i had to try the lengua. Why did I do that?? The meat tender, flavorful and rich! Thinking that they are the same at other places, I tried another taco truck near my home town...🤮, tasted like tuff chewy liver. Learned my lesson!!

“I returned to the island today, and stopped by just on my way to the ferry. This is my second time coming here. And Spoiled Dog Winery is magnificent, and the owners are even better! With a combination of great hospitality, views/atmosphere and amazing tasting wine, I will always be a customer of theirs. I strongly recommend going by, you will not regret it!
