“I had seen a post on a local board game group about this shop opening up soon. Finally something closer to us north county folks! I stopped by mid afternoon and Keith greeted me with a smile. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He showed me around and we talked for close to an hour. The for sale board game selection is thorough and they plan to still add more. They also have a library of games you can play in the cafe. They have about 8-10 play tables and the cafe offers a variety of soups, sandwiches, drinks, and more! I'm really excited to see Contrarian's grow and be a focal board gaming resource for our community.“

“Di Tazza bakery, cafe and coffee drive thru is a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee with friends. They have pastries and yummy frittatas, biscuits and gravy and breakfast sandwiches. They have vegetarian choices and some nice gluten free pastries that are all made on the premises. It’s really cute and clean. The staff is friendly and quick to make you feel welcome. I live really close to it and I highly recommend it. It is in the previous chase bank on SE 84th and 137th. Easy access from Padden Parkway. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. 🥰“

“New hit for me: the Birria Blanco Ciabatta Melt! It is delicious. First bite in I thought I was enjoying a flavorful chili on a warm ciabatta roll. I did notice the other ingredients (cilantro/smoky aioli/cheddar/pickled red onions) but the Birria stole the show! Just be ready, it's a wee bit messy but that's to be expected with this type of sandwich.“

“I enjoyed my visit and found this coffee shop to be cute and comfortable, and it was a nice place to drop in for an easy breakfast and coffee. I ordered the honey lavender latte and breakfast sandwich, and both were delicious. Friendly service. There's a peekaboo view of the river, and it's a nice launching point for a scenic walk by the water.“

“Pretty solid little coffee shop. The space is nicely decorated though my woven chair was not very comfortable. The swings are fun and whimsical and show matches the nice wooden boards used for plating. The carrot cake was huge and delicious, with lots of pieces of nuts, raisin, and carrot. My salmon bagel was a little disappointing; there just wasn’t much substance to it. I did like that you could choose between chips or a salad. I wasn’t too keen on the hidden valley-tasting ranch they put on top of the salad though. The americano was fine, but seemed a bit acidic to me. Overall I’d come back to try more menu items and the service was friendly enough.“

“I stop off here at least once a week on my way to work and have for the last few months so this review is more than owed. The girls are friendly and churn out drinks in a timely manner, each of my visits takes about 2-3 minutes tops. Everything from tea to coffee to their weekly specials is delicious and exceptional, and way cheaper than anything you would get at Starbucks. Also absolutely love the little cookies/candied coffee beans that come with the drinks, its such a nice touch. Keep up the amazing work ladies!“

I’ve seen when the owner’s find a shot brewed substandard; they’ve dumped it at their own cost in favor of getting it right. It’s a small thing, but it says a lot. They care for their coffee and for their customers. 10/10“

“This coffee shop provides good quality coffee at a very reasonable price. The owners and managers are absolute gems and very friendly members of the campus and community. They have always focused on using high quality ingredients and providing extensive training to their employees. They don't put corn syrup flavorings or burnt roasted coffee beans in their coffee like many chain coffee shops do. Just good quality, traditional Italian roasts, high quality flavorings, and other great non-coffee options like organic tea.“

“My son is a barista at this location. I came in for a coffee and a sandwich and was so proud to watch his interactions with Customers. Big smile and great attitude. I’ve managed Customer Service for a majority of my career, so watching my son provide excellent service was very fulfilling. All of the kids working at The Great North when I have come in have been wonderful. Management shouldn’t take this for granted. The coffee is good, but you can’t beat great customer service👍“

“Cafe Yumm is one of the only places in Vancouver with Vegan options on the menu. Ty is a great guy who will greet you with a genuine smile and a great vibe. The food is delicious I suggest you add pumpkin seeds to the Yumm bowls and grab a bottle of Yumm sauce to go. This is by far my favorite place to eat in Vancouver.“

“The coffee itself is really good, but Black Rock in general could you some work on their mixed drinks. Upcharging me for whole milk when they should just be using it anyways to make lattes is annoying and they use half as much flavor as needed so you need to request extra, which is also an up charge. My drink ends up being almost $7!! The service is great and everyone is nice, but dang, getting a drink made how the rest of the coffee places do it is expensive.“

“I guess, don't judge a book by its cover, lol. When I think of golf course restaurants, I don't think of greasy spoons! When you drive up to the Cameo Cafe, it definitely looks like you are pulling up to a dive in the south side of a seedy town. The establishment is definitely dated! It could use an absolute overhaul as far as appearances. The inside isn't much different as it hasn't found its place in this modern world. Fortunately, the breakfast makes up for all the rest of its short falls. Also, the service wasn't too bad either. We had good food with good drinks, served to us by an attentive, no nonsense staff. We shall return!!!“
