“Had one of the best meals of my trip to Portland at Lilia Comedor! I dined solo and the team was kind enough to accommodate me with the Chef’s Dinner tasting menu for one, which already set the tone for such a thoughtful experience. I also did the wine pairing, and every single course was incredible! Super flavorful, beautifully presented, and full of unique ingredients and combinations I wouldn’t have thought of myself.
The portions were also surprisingly generous for a tasting menu. I left completely full and very satisfied. The wine pairing was excellent, and the sommelier was knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they were serving. Huge shout out to Jason, who took such great care of me all evening. He made the experience feel relaxed, personal, and genuinely fun.
What really made the night special, though, was the service overall. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. It somehow felt elevated and cozy at the same time, like being welcomed into someone’s home for an amazing dinner party. And the handwritten note at the end was such a thoughtful touch.
Absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Portland. Five stars without hesitation.“

“It was delicious!!! Rabbit, foie gras, pigs feet, escargot, halibut, eel, scallops, all the fancy sauces….SOOO good!! Every bite was just perfectly executed. The staff was so friendly and engaging which made it really fun to sit at the chef’s counter!“

“First time was fabulous; food, wine, vibe and people were top-notch. The second time not so much. I was pretty disappointed to receive a $3 “discount” after not being able to eat the way too salty lamb ribs. Just left a bad taste and vibe for me as a neighbor and someone who could have been an enthusiastic regular. I have very rarely sent back food… but as a prior food biz owner myself, if a reasonable and polite customer ever had a disappointing experience with anything, I’d always give a full refund and encourage them to try us again. It’s just good business practice IMHO.“

“I make it a point to visit Canard Burnside on all of my trips to Portland! The unique flavors and presentations on their menu keep me coming back for more. Had the roasted beets last night for the first time and the flavor was out of this world.“

“My wife and I come here for special occasions and last night we celebrated her birthday! As always, the service was excellent, food was impeccable, atmosphere was cozy, and a very enjoyable experience. It is a small place which only adds to the intimacy of service and atmosphere. The owner is a great guy who is very knowledgeable in all his dishes and wines which were incredible as well! We love C'est Si Bon and will continue to come here everytime we want to celebrate something at a special place!“

“An elevated French bistro experience.
Came on a Sunday evening and the atmosphere was calm, dimly lit, and pleasant. The space feels polished but still comfortable, and overall it made for a relaxed dining experience. We booked a few days in advance which worked well — though walk-ins may still be possible depending on timing.
Service was attentive and the restaurant felt clean and well run throughout the evening.
Food was solid overall and comfortably met expectations for a French bistro at this price point.
Highlights from what we ordered:
Oysters – fresh and delicious, exactly what you’d hope for.
Bread & Butter – warm and excellent. Honestly a must when dining somewhere like this.
Jambon Plate – nice spread of pickles, mustard, and meat, but probably something I’d skip next time. The bread didn’t feel quite as fresh as the separate loaf ordered à la carte and the portion/value didn’t quite justify it.
Chicory & Pear Salad – decent overall, though the radicchio and blue cheese leaned a bit too bitter for my taste. The pear helped, though it could only balance so much.
For mains:
Duck Leg Confit – the standout. Comforting and well balanced without being overly rich. Definitely worth ordering.
Steak Au Poivre – solid with great quality meat and a good sauce. You’ll likely want a side to pair with it (the Frites would make sense here).
Pork Schnitzel – good overall. Crispy breading without feeling greasy or overly salty, and the sauce rémoulade was a nice touch. Filling enough that a side probably isn’t necessary.
Solid wine list as well. We paired a really nice orange wine with our appetizers that ended up working especially well alongside the duck.
Overall a pleasant dining experience. Prices lean toward the premium side, and while everything comfortably met expectations, nothing quite pushed it into five-star territory.
FYI: They can also accommodate allergies as needed — for example with gluten (including Celiac). The Frites are prepared in a dedicated fryer and other dishes can be modified to avoid cross-contamination.“
“We've been to Bar Nouveau twice. Loved the welcome cocktail, such a nice touch! The food was fantastic, with their veggies and chicken liver mousse as our favorites! Amazing date spot, leave the kids at home please!
Great music, decor, and even the bathroom is great!“

“Lovely dining experience, where hospitality and quality are abundant. The wine pairings are spectacular, but so is the non- alcoholic pairings. In particular, the candied thyme tea is a must try. Complex, delicious and perfectly paired. The experience is carefully timed, so show up to your reservation on time. Every table is a chef’s table. The duck preparation and through line in the meal is exquisite. The dessert of mint gelato, quince, and almond cookie was amazing. An inventive, delicious meal filled with care and attention to detail. Well worth a visit!!!“

“I had a memorable dinner at Higgins Restaurant. I ordered their Oregon Mushroom Set Menu, and each dish reflected their respect for local ingredients. The wild mushroom bisque was particularly delicious, with a smooth texture and rich aroma. The waiter was very professional and attentive, explaining the background of each dish. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere was perfect for a leisurely meal with friends or family.“

“French food is not normally the top on my list of dining choices, but I am really glad that I took a chance on this place. The food was excellent and cute whole in the wall very French atmosphere really rounded it all off. There is limited seating and a bit tight being a small bistro of sorts, but once you get settled in and relaxed, you forget forgive the close quarters by the very French décor and feeling once you start looking around at everything. Service was friendly there, but a bit awkward at no fault to the server since she was still relatively new there and apologized for it immediately. She was sincere and did her best throughout our dining experience. Ordered the open faced sandwich which was a shrimp smorbord and it was just amazing. So beautifully prepared with such care and presentation. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Also got the mussels, which were meaty and perfectly cooked in a light herb broth. This will be a must on my return to visit list when ever in Portland next and do recommend that you give it a try if so inclined. Bon Appétit!“

“The Bistro Alder is the restaurant inside the Dosier Hotel and it serves delicious food and drinks. We only dined here and did not stay at the hotel. The restaurant was empty when we arrived around 9pm and were promptly greeted by a wonderful hostess who took our drink and meal orders right away since we already knew we wanted the Portland Restaurant Month meals. The food came out quickly as we were the only ones there initially. As time went on a couple small groups of 2-3 arrived and even then the hostess managed to hold down the fort to include waiting, serving, bar tending, and bussing. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly come back to enjoy a meal or a couple of drinks.“

“My wife and I had a great dinner for our anniversary. I got the halibut, she got the steak frites, and we split bread and butter. Best halibut I’ve ever had!! All the flavors on the dish were so tasty and well prepared. We also got cocktails and they were smooth and delicious. I put a note in the reservation that it was our anniversary and they were very sweet about it and even treated us with some champagne. All in all, amazing food, great atmosphere, and great service. Would definitely come back!“

“I stopped by this wine tasting room while visiting from out of town and honestly, I didn’t want to leave. The space is so warm and inviting. It immediately felt like the kind of spot I’d be a regular at if I lived nearby. Cozy, charming, and perfect for a laid-back evening or a quiet date night.
The wine selection was fabulous. I tried a few different pours and loved what I tried. And the food was absolutely delicious without trying too hard.
What really made the experience special was the staff. They were so kind and attentive. Friendly in a genuine way, not just polite. It felt like they really wanted me to enjoy myself, and I did.
I truly wish I lived closer. This would be my go-to spot. Until next time!“

“This is one of the only bars in town specializing in classic cocktails and doing it well. The menu has upwards of 200 classic cocktails as well as some house originals. If you don’t feel like searching through the list, you can just describe what you like, and the bartenders will find the perfect cocktail for your taste. Don’t skip the classic French bistro cuisine, it’s amazing and very affordable. Keep in mind, they build all the cocktails from scratch instead of batching so there might be a wait, but it’s worth it!“

“La Provence in Beaverton is our favorite location in this excellent chain, and we always enjoy their wonderful food when we are visiting the area. Their bakery has suppled us with many welcomed hostess or celebration gifts (oh, those macarons!) over the years. The staff is excellent as well (hi, Cory, thanks again!). Highly recommended.“
