“We Love Ruby Brink! Burger night—say no more…! The beef dip sandwich on the lunch menu is another favorite. We love eating here for so many reasons though. This isn’t a “high staff turnover” type restaurant where you’ll be greeted by stressed out workers plastered with fake smiles fighting over tables like you might be used you. This is a grown-up establishment with grown-up food and grown-up and experienced, competent and empowered staff and I appreciate how this dynamic expressed itself in terms of guest experience. When I say that the food is grown-up I mean that it is carefully selected and prepared from scratch and this means it does not taste like what other restaurants are doing, which often is buying bags of frozen soup and sauces from the chef supply store to keep costs down and to keep everything tasting exactly the same, every time. You will taste different things here and that might surprise you. Ready yourself for that and enjoy!“

“Beveridge place is a great place to grab a beer. They have a chill area where you can read a book or play a game and an area in the back with darts, foosball, and shuffle board with many TVs playing sporting events. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They only serve snacks for food, but you can bring whatever food you like it get it delivered to you. We need more places like this!“

“The staff is wonderful. Everyone who works here does an amazing job. They are so kind and attentive.
The ownership seems lacking. They seem to make the women dress in a way to attract male customers. I worry that there is no one to protect them. I came to watch the Mainers playoffs with 6 other women. We had a great time and our service was really great. We get together weekly and we’d like to come here but we’d also like to see the women who work here treated better. They are so good at their jobs. They are super kind and on top of things. What we hate is watching men stare at their asses while they are doing their jobs.
We have a large community here that like this this place. We’d like to support this bar if you can treat your workers better 😊“

“My husband and I used to live just down the street, and even though we’re not as close anymore, we always make a point to come back. We love bringing our dogs and hanging out on the back patio. The staff are so kind and always bring treats for the pups. It’s a great spot to watch games and there’s always a solid selection of food and drinks!

Sometimes we get a table right away and sometimes we don't. Sometimes we get a better table; sometimes we don't. “Nice vibe, sucks that the one and only TV was broken on the night of the 1st football game of the season but we watched it on a phone. There was no AC seemingly so it was super hot and when you’re getting tipsy the warmth is that much worse. The cider is a mix of yummy and mid. We tried several cider flights, about 12 flavors and I only really enjoyed maybe 3? Anyways the food was great, my partner and I tried the circus burger, basket fries and the popcorn chicken. WARNING: it’s not really popcorn chicken. I was hella hungry thinking it was actually gonna be popcorn sized and so I ordered the 20 piece, BIG MISTAKE, if you’re one person, order the 8 piece. It’s not popcorn sized or even chicken nugget sized. It’s like even larger than if you ordered boneless wings at wing stop. Not bad, just ordered too much food and I unfortunately get the OPPOSITE of the drunchies! Attached photo for reference. It’s delicious though and so is the sauce.“

“We had a date night here and were absolutely impressed. The Beecher’s grilled cheese and butternut squash soup was a stand out. Both of our pasta entrees were phenomenal as well. The star of the show, though, was our dessert, which was a deconstructed PB&J. I don’t think I’ve ever had something that had such a wide variety of complementary textures. “Hy lu Hee Hee ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hy Lu Hee Hee means “Good Times and Lots of Laughter.” The Hy lu Hee Hee is a Gig Harbor, WA local’s hang-out that got it start as a Tavern in 1935. In 1958, the State condemned the tavern building and asked that the business vacate the premises, so they could build a new highway to Purdy. The business was rebuilt in 1983, in a new location, by new owners, which is where it has remained ever since. I have been visiting Gig Harbor since 1990, but my first visit to the Hy Lu Hee Hee wasnt until 5/19/23, which was a Friday. Although I arrived before 9 PM, the music was LOUD! I’ve decided to do a sound check via the app SoundPrint. It averaged 83 dB and got as high as 88 dB, which is considered Very Loud. That would’ve been acceptable if I had signed up to see a live band, but it wasn’t. It was bad pre-recorded music, being played over blown speakers.  I had to shout out my order. Everyone around me was shouting too. My server told me this is the norm after 9 PM. Unless you’re already deaf, or enjoy the thought of shouting at your dining companions, I recommend you visit the Hy Lu Hee Hee earlier in the day.  I ordered one of the five house favorites on the menu, Fish + Chips ($17) - Breaded and Seasoned Wild Alaskan True Cod with Fries, House Slaw + Tartar Sauce. Compared to all the fish and chips I’ve eaten in Washington state, it was pretty standard fare. It was a generous portion of fries, and I liked the housemade tartar sauce. The coleslaw had decent flavor, but it obviously been made sometime ago and was swimming in liquid. Personally, I prefer Tides Tavern, which is another Gig Harbor local’s hang out, but I’ll be back at some point to visit the Hy lu Hee Hee. “Went there to support my friends band that was playing there. I ordered a Jamison Manhattan. It was one of the skimpiest pours I've seen but that wasn't an issue. When I asked the price $28!!! That's twice the price of the Space Needle let alone a Des Moines dive bar.

Edit: Heard from one of the band members that the insane prices had been adjusted. I made a return visit and the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was quaint and comfortable and the music was great. I plan to return.“
