“This post is from Pacific Northwest Foodies. Doc’s Marina Grill ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been on the quest for a great Crab Louie salad for a few years. Sadly, this classic crab salad is hard to find even in states like Washington. I suspect it has to do with most people not wanting to pay a lot of money for a salad, but if you’ve ever had a great one, you know this one is worth it. After doing a lot of research, I made a point to try the one at Doc’s Marina Grill on Bainbridge Island, Washington. There’s also a location in Port Townsend, Washington. For starters, I ordered a cup of Doc’s House Made Clam Chowder ($8) - famous because it’s “oh-so-good!” It needed a sprinkle of salt, but it was very good. For my entrée, I ordered Doc’s Dungeness Crab Louie ($38) - mixed greens topped with tender crab, seasonal vegetables, heirloom tomatoes and Doc’s house-made Louie dressing. I was impressed! I would rate Doc’s Crab Louie a 4/5. It was beautifully presented, had a generous portion of crab, and the house made Louie dressing was excellent! I would give this salad a perfect rating if they removed the red onion, and added a few black olives and asparagus spears. Even so, I was very happy with my salad and would rank it among one the best Crab Louie’s I’ve ever had. It is certainly the best I’ve had in Washington state. In addition to serving great food, I really enjoyed the ambience of Doc’s, and the service was excellent! I look forward to visiting again and try and some new menu items. *The upstairs level and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. * There is an opening above the urinal that is a giant periscope. It provides a panoramic view of Eagle Harbor. It was designed by Lee Scott, a Carnegie Mellon graduate student. If you don’t use a urinal, but are interested in seeing the periscope, staff will clear the room so you can check it out too. I didn’t know about this until after my visit. Next time, I will be sure to check it out. 😊 Highly Recommended!!!“

My first time here and I was craving Chinese food - I Ordered takeout which was promptly delivered hot in compostable and biodegradable takeout containers. No chopsticks or napkins offered. “Beveridge place is a great place to grab a beer. They have a chill area where you can read a book or play a game and an area in the back with darts, foosball, and shuffle board with many TVs playing sporting events. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They only serve snacks for food, but you can bring whatever food you like it get it delivered to you. We need more places like this!“

“Went for the first time last night. This is a great spot and the interior is well decorated though you may not notice it at first glance. DJs were killing it and the owner was super nice and friendly (and a cutie). Extra entertainment in the mezzanine. Good time, highly recommend.“

“We love it here! We drive from Port Angeles a few times a year just to eat here. We went in yesterday (11-13-25) on our way home from Kent after a really hard day. The server, Kenny and the food were exactly what we needed. My husband loves the whiskey selection and my best friend loves the old fashion. We always give it 5 stars 🌟.“

“A relaxing laid back atmosphere with so many flavors to choose from. I had a few cocktails, oysters for the first time, and sardines, too. Everything was delectable and Sharon and Dakin are lovely bartenders with great people skills.

I went there for a date and had a wonderful time enjoying new foods, drinks, and flavors. They even had a Malort cocktail!

Highly recommend if you like more intimate locations and being directly at the bar.

SH makes so many IPAs, and now often outstanding ones! This will be a must stop for fresh hop season Sep-Oct every year! So looking forward to it this year. “My husband and I used to live just down the street, and even though we’re not as close anymore, we always make a point to come back. We love bringing our dogs and hanging out on the back patio. The staff are so kind and always bring treats for the pups. It’s a great spot to watch games and there’s always a solid selection of food and drinks!

“We went to Tracyton Public House for the first time last night and immediately felt welcomed. When the man at the door was checking IDs, we mentioned we’d never been in and he gave us his food recommendations. We took him up on that and ordered the wings! “I stopped by Lock & Keel the other night and had one of those small but meaningful experiences that remind you why some bars just get it right. I ordered a Diet Coke, but for some reason, my credit card wouldn’t work in their system. Before I could even start fumbling for cash or awkwardly apologizing, the bartender—this super sweet girl with black hair and a nose ring—just smiled and said, “Don’t worry about it, it’s on me.”

It wasn’t about the free drink; it was about the vibe. She was friendly, calm, and made what could’ve been an embarrassing moment feel like nothing at all. You don’t always get that kind of kindness in busy bars, and it stood out.

Lock & Keel isn’t just a place to grab a drink—it’s a spot where the staff genuinely seem to care about making people feel welcome. Shoutout to the bartender with the nose ring and black hair—thank you for the Diet Coke and the good energy.
