“While visiting Milwaukee from Michigan, we have been trying to find a good local ice cream shop. We stumbled upon The Purple Door this evening, and the only thing I'm sad about is that tomorrow is our last day. The ice cream was phenomenal and we received great service. We'll definitely go back for one last visit during our trip, but I'm finding myself wondering if we'd be able to keep some pints frozen during our 6.5 hour drive home. So if you're in the area, you won't regret treating yourself here!“
“Took the kids and they had a blast. Snacks were delicious, staff super friendly passing out candy and that haunted house was really fun. I definitely recommend the is place. Live the bouncy house and so happy to have a fun place to take the kids here in the south side 🙏“
“I LOVE TASTEE TWIST and have LOVE IT since I was a child in the neighborhood! I lived on 14th & North in the Green & White house that still stands today and I use to walk across the field to get Ice Cream and Granddaddy use call me the TWINKLE KOAT GIRL, which I still get everytime I go there. GOOD MEMORIES, GOOD ICE CREAM AND BLACK OWNED! I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY DAUGHTER EVERY SINCE SHE WAS A BABY AND NOW SHE IS 13 YEARS OLD. “I love love love going to Leons. I live in Las Vegas, NV and every time I come into town I will always go to Leons. Absolutely hands down the best frozen custard I've ever had!! I ordered a double scoop of strawberry and chocolate. My boyfriend ordered a strawberry malt and he stated it was delicious! Probably one of the best he's ever had.“

“The apartment complex that I live in had a pool party and had Isa's ice-cream truck there for the residents. I have never tasted homemade ice-cream like that ever. It was the best. I had the pistachio, corn. The corn is amazing.“

“I have driven to random places, asked random people on the streets , where I could get the perfect most authentic taco. After 6 months of searching tosa and milwaukee, I finally found it. Their tacos are fresh , meat super flavorful and their green sauce is spicy enough to make you sweat.“

“Icing on the Cake: Baskin-Robbins was conceived in 1945 by ice cream lovers Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins. Being bored by their competitor's mundane options of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, they vowed to offer 31 unique flavors. Since then, Baskin-Robbins has introduced 1400 flavors, offering the perfect flavor for everyone and every occasion. It might come as a shock to some of my followers, but as much as I love ice cream, I've never had Baskin-Robbins (I blame all the excellent custard options in Milwaukee). Turns out you can get a free 4oz serving of any flavor for your birthday, so no excuse not for me to check it out. For my initiation I went with their appropriately themed Icing on the Cake flavor. It's a cake flavored ice cream layered with crumbles of soft yellow cake pieces, rainbow frosting flecks, and swirls of confetti frosting. Every component nailed birthday cake, but the biggest star was the super sweet confetti frosting swirl. It's nearly impossible to see because it's almost identical in color to the cake ice cream, but it makes its presence known by its powerful flavor alone. Of all the elements, the cake pieces are the sparsest. My scoop could have included a few more and it doesn't help that the cake pieces are some of the smallest I've encountered in various cake ice creams. Lastly, the rainbow frosting flecks add a colorful aesthetic to the otherwise plain ice cream, a faint but welcoming textural contrast, and more of that oh so lovely sugar. Some might find this flavor to be a little too one note and sweet, but I enjoyed it.
