“Leon's has been on South 27th Street since 1942 and they remodeled in the early 1950s into the neon-lit, walk-up drive-in format that still exists today, meaning the building you're standing in front of has looked more or less like this since before most of your relatives were born. There's no dining room. You walk up to the window, you order, you eat in the parking lot or on the hood of your car, and on a warm Milwaukee evening you are surrounded by a full cross-section of the city doing the exact same thing. It's one of those places that functions as a kind of social institution without anyone having to try.
The custard is made fresh daily with cream and eggs and it shows. The texture is dense and silky in a way that regular ice cream cannot match, which is something food writers have been saying about Leon's for decades and which is still true when you actually eat it. We had the Butter Pecan, which is one of three flavors always on rotation alongside vanilla and chocolate, and it has this nutty sweetness that holds up all the way to the bottom of the cone. The Super Sundae Special is the move if you're not sure what to order: vanilla custard, hot fudge, pecans, and a genuinely generous pile of cherries that they do not scrimp on.
The Hot Fudge Sundae is a separate thing from the Special and equally good, with a fudge that runs thick and warm and doesn't slide off into the cup immediately. We also had a chocolate shake just to see, and it was the kind of chocolate shake that makes you realize you've been settling for lesser versions of the thing for most of your life.“

“It has been about 20 years since I’ve been able to visit Kitts custard the last time that I was here to visit, it was just after my father’s passing and he was the one who introduced my brother and I two kids custard while we were here living in Milwaukee at the time.
As I said it’s been about 20 years my friend and I came to Milwaukee to try kids custard from Kewaunee Wisconsin, which is about 98 miles. I made sure on the website that you were open when we got there your lights and signs said you were open, but your door was locked. We knocked on the door. No one answered. We stayed there for about 5 to 10 minutes. I even tried calling you. No one answered the phone so we had to turn back to go back to Kewaunee unable to revisit the nostalgia of my family coming to see you so unfortunately, three customers had to walk away from your business. This is sad to see hope this gets fixed soon.“

“I had such a nice experience at Brookfield crumbl. I didn't get the names of the associates, but they were so kind to my dumb ass walking in not knowing what to do. I got two boxes of minis and they were quick, nice, and got me out the door in record time. You guys are great!!“

“My husband and I stopped in to pick up some dessert here after dinner. This was a wonderful way to finish off a great evening.
There was a great variety of options from macarons to mousse desserts, and all sorts of cakes as well as gelato.We chose a cake with Dubai chocolate, and it was delicious.
The service by the young man was excellent and we got to meet the owner. She was very friendly, and even permitted me to practice my very rusty French with her. Highly recommend this classy patisserie.“

“I went to the Elm Grove Chocolate Factory last night for a sundae. The last time I went an employee named Aaron was there and he knocked it out of the park. Last night Devin was there and it was just as good. Devin was friendly, professional, and constantly moving. The other staff members were also on the move. The place was busy HOWEVER Devin ran it like a well oiled machine. Orders were being delivered to the customers quickly and correctly! Tables were cleaned, the condiment are was stocked and the customer service could not have been better.
Do yourself a favor and checkout the Elm Grove Chocolate Factory especially when Aaron and Devin are there. You will not be disappointed. Thanks for a great experience“
