“Great bar! My husband and I were wandering around on a motorcycle and got hungry. We pulled into Genoa and Rudy's was the only place to get some food. Cheeseburgers and chips, or pizza. The cheeseburger was incredible! Simple meat with pickles and onions but man it tasted great! The bartender was super friendly and we had a great conversation while we ate and rested up. Even the local folks sitting at the bar were friendly and chill. If you're tired, they have cheap rooms available to rent out but we had a long way to go so we didn't stay. If you're driving through or even close I recommend stopping in and grabbing a delicious cheap meal and meeting some great people.”
“Small, not fancy, but a good bar and grill. Has a bar, a few tables (maybe 4), two booths, and a small dinette counter with four or five stools. A mom and daughter, probably the owners, cooked all the food. It was simple and very good. I had the Friday lunch special of goulash (better than it sounds). The other specials were a turkey club and a chicken fried steak. A variety of burgers and sandwiches are available. A fish fry is available for dinner on Fridays. They do have take out. Several people called ahead and then ran into pick up up their food and go. The service was good and everyone was friendly. Bathrooms very clean. If you're going through New Albin, Iowa, I recommend a stop.”
“I adore this place. It has been around gorgeous a very long time. That proves that the food and service is great. I have eaten many meals & deserts, and I've never been disappointed. This place cares about its patrons and loves seeing new people.”
“We didn’t eat. Service was okay, the bartender was very focused on the gentlemen at the other corner of the bar. Bathroom was nice and clean. Prices affordable.”
“Small town bar with simple food that is cooked to perfection. A great example of small menu with great choices done right. Will definitely be back. Bartender Brent did a great job handling the lunch crowd!”
“Awesome WI towny bar. The bar was busy and we just missed the dinner rush. They ran out of a few dinner items but no matter. Had Cod and pizza. Very good. Waitress was very nice. Great small town feel.”
“I have been blown away by Harmony Valley Farm's CSA boxes. This was my first year and my expectations have been far exceeded. Each box is quite literally PACKED FULL of produce. The variety is better than I knew could be grown in this area. The emails outlining the box content and recipe options for each type of produce greatly helps me meal plan. I've reduced my meat consumption simply by having wonderful produce consistently at my fingertips, and this feels beneficial to my health and the environment. Very important detail to mention: every single bit of produce has been fresh, without rot or being close to going bad. It's only October and I'm already excited to sign up for next year!”
“Burgers are big and juicy, with a choice of hand-cut fries! I always ask for grilled onions on my Shellhorn burger and request a double dip for crispy fries! Wide open space with darts, video games and a jukebox. They get busy so plan on a non-rush hour time for a hungry group!”
“Delicious! We dined in for the 1st time this past Friday as a family of 6 with 4 kids under 12. We were very pleased with the amount of food, quality of food and prices! It was refreshing to find a hidden gem. We traveled an hour to get here and will definitely be doing it again! 1919 on tap recommended to make the ultimate experience for the kiddos. Keep supporting small family businesses!”
“A must stop if you are in the area! We had the best Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich and Blue Balls appetizer (make sure to dip these in their signature sauce) made by their cook Mary, who clearly has the passion for what she does! “Made with love” is what she said and you need see it for yourself. Amazing service at their friendly bartender, Jessie. We came for a quick meal and drink and we ended up leaving with our bellies and heart full. We came in as strangers and left as friends. Thank you Mary and Jessie! We will be back!”
“When you think of a 'Good Ol' Wisconsin Supper Club' Rocky's is it. A family owned and run business that appreciates their customers. The oval shaped bar greets you as soon as you walk in to have an old fashioned while you wait for your table. The dining room may be small and can get loud at times, but just enjoy your cocktail and conversate with those around you or people watch. Really anything on the menu is a solid choice- from batter-fried fish to steak. Try their homemade blue cheese dressing. Can't forgot an order of their cheescurds either. Top the night with a ice cream dessert drink and you're set. Expect at least 1 hour in total. Can't wait to try their outdoor patio seating in the summer and keep an eye on their social media (Facebook) for music opportunities.Parking: They do have a side parking lot but on busy nights it can get pretty crowded! Plenty of street parking around it as well.”
“Stopped in to Tuna’s last July while taking a trip down the Mississippi River. Had a little pizza and cold beer. Nice clean place about two blocks from lock and dam # 8 on the Mississippi River. Stop in, you’ll be glad you did.”
