We stumbled upon The Purple Door this evening, and the only thing I'm sad about is that tomorrow is our last day. The ice cream was phenomenal and we received great service. We'll definitely go back for one last visit during our trip, but I'm finding myself wondering if we'd be able to keep some pints frozen during our 6.5 hour drive home. “It has been about 20 years since I’ve been able to visit Kitts custard the last time that I was here to visit, it was just after my father’s passing and he was the one who introduced my brother and I two kids custard while we were here living in Milwaukee at the time.
As I said it’s been about 20 years my friend and I came to Milwaukee to try kids custard from Kewaunee Wisconsin, which is about 98 miles. I made sure on the website that you were open when we got there your lights and signs said you were open, but your door was locked. We knocked on the door. No one answered. We stayed there for about 5 to 10 minutes. I even tried calling you. No one answered the phone so we had to turn back to go back to Kewaunee unable to revisit the nostalgia of my family coming to see you so unfortunately, three customers had to walk away from your business. This is sad to see hope this gets fixed soon.“

“This is a must-do. You guys, I'm so picky and this is the best spinach pie in Milwaukee. I challenge you to beat It. You won't. It's homemade by somebody who knows what they're doing. The gyros were also excellent. Good salad, good dressing and sauce, onion rings were outta this world. Homemade baklava... 100%. And it's affordable. I met Mo, whose family owns this place, and all I can say is wow. What a warm and loving individual. You're messing out if you don't come.

I have a few more things to add. The olives are really good and have pits in, which Ina Garten says is the real deal. The pita is actual Middle Eastern pita. The feta is really creamy. The hot cocoa was good. They really pick quality ingredients and pay attention to detail.“
