“Recently had lunch here after a Dr's appointment - for the first time. The prices are reasonable. It was very busy. we were seated quickly but it was a long wait to get our food. We ordered breakfast- and most of the food was good. But I had a chicken breast with my eggs and potatoes- it tasted horrible. When I spoke to the waitress about it she informed me that the restaurant marinades the chicken in pickle juice before frying. I feel like thats something you should tell people in advance.“

“Absolutely amazing, all around! Food, service, everything. Shrimp sweet and delicious. Scallops silky soft and smooth, seared great and so tasty! Bacon wrapped asparagus is killer good. Prime rib sandwich is pillow soft, so flavorful and satisfying. Great garlic and herb butter seasoning on everything. I had a nasty respiratory infection a couple months prior, hadn't been able to taste much of anything for over two months... until coming here. I could taste the amazing flavor cooked into all of our items for the first time since getting sick. This was probably about the most satisfying dining experience I've ever had. Love it and can't wait to go back!!!“

“We really loved our experience at Highlands Cafe today. We’ve never had a bad experience or food, but today was particularly exceptional as it was the first time we brought our boys (2 years and 11 months). We had promised our 2 year old ice cream with breakfast as where we were originally going to go, they have malts. Much to our surprise they were closed, cue the toddler meltdown 🫠 Highlands cafe to save the day! No wait, they made a “special ice cream drink” right away for our 2 year old (chocolate milk with whip cream and sprinkles) and he could not have been more happy. The food was excellent to boot! I always get the terrific Asian slaw which is bountiful and so welcome an alternative to fries. This batched needed a hint more vinegar. Reasonably priced wine list. Pies are made in house. Took a piece of rhubarb home, delightful. Cozy atmosphere.“

Great experience till we moved in side. the waitress was more concerned about her getting tips and wasnt polite when I asked to turn up a game that was on. she spent more time changing our check then getting two beers. we got the check before the beer and was forced out by her racism and anger towrds a white couple. if the roles where reversed she would be up and arms. so we got forced to leave not by words by actions. we got disappointed i wouldn't recommend going there for an event like a parade at least not in side the out side tables where hard to sit in and the benches where if not loose then broken. dont expect out side service you hve to go inside to order and pick up everything. the bartender was spot of if you want a shot and a beer. the inside service sucked“

Onion rings were hot with a firm dense crust. My friend and I were almost in disbelief. Staff was incredibly polite. Clientele, (place was packed), were well-mannered. “Some of the best food I’ve ever had, I’ve had at Birch. I try to visit as often as I can. I usually go for the steak or pork chop. Both are cooked to perfection. Also, the fennel salad, crunchy farm vegetables, and anything involving tomatoes is recommended.“
