“If you enjoy Laury’s in Charleston, WV, you will love it here! It is downtown, so I was worried about parking, but we easily found a spot on the street nearby. Our waiter, Brian, was really great. Our salads and the bread…so good. We both ordered the filet mignon, between the two of us we had their roasted potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, and the baked macaroni and cheese. Just incredible. And their crème brûlée was also delicious. The dining area has low lighting and a cozy atmosphere. The building is really cool. Very nice place; especially for special evenings.”

“I have eaten at this fine dining establishment many a time since its opening. The delectable taste of the food, the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the cheerful staff are all aspects that separate this foodery from many others. There is one kindness that the workers at Guthries do that is quite unique: they leave thoughtful and encouraging messages on the rims of each cup purchased.

I often have forgotten about this kind act by the time I visit the location again. However, the last message I received warmed my heart and spurred me to leave this review. I was going to see friends and play games when one of my companions decided to procure us our bounty at the local Guthries. I was about halfway through my box when I recalled the message that was surely to be written upon the top of my drink. It was these words that have forever changed my life.

On my brother in Christ's cup was written “Dream big”—a statement which, in fact, does accurately describe him. This message only deepened the anticipation for my own gift. This was the message: “Keep dreams.”

Though my only main complaint every time I go is the bathrooms.I went this past Saturday at like around 3:30pm and the floors were really dirty the toilet was a nightmare to look at still had stuff all over it from someone getting sick looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a day ,so unsanitary and kids go here🤢.I work janitorial have for years no excuse really to have nasty bathrooms where the toilet is covered in puke and pee.While employees stand around knowing they are nasty and haven’t been cleaned properly or checked on.The TP there is sad.It’s so thin you can see through it.The cleanliness there could be a-lot better its dirty not just in the bathrooms.I wish I would had taken a picture of the toilet, I was just so grossed out trying to hurry and get out of the bathroom.Stall door didn’t have a hanger,it had been broken off so I had to maneuver holding my bag and using bathroom.I give cleanliness a 2 out of 5.Games probablya 4 there was several not working or broken and that’s the usual.They are old and get played alot so understandable to have multiple broken down ones.I love the Pinball machines and the varieties they have.”

“We always enjoy Waffle House. Breakfast is our to go food. There are two waffle Houses in our area. I like both but the one on 29th street in Huntington WV is my favorite. There is a young waitress there. I think her name is Shanti but I’m not positive. I have a 13 year old grandson who has had trouble with bullying and has difficulties with making friends. She teases him and is extra friendly to him. She calls him Mr. Long Hair because he like a lot of teenage boys has long hair. He loves going to Waffle House and his mental attitude has changed so much. We are very appreciative of her. She is what Waffle House is. Going home where you feel comfortable and eating a good meal with family and friends.”

Been here a few times over the years. I used to frequent Huntington, WV and I would enjoy the different places and restaurants in the area. Nawab’s is a highlight if you’re into Indian food, spices and degrees of the spice spectrum. Seafood, chicken, lamb and goat are some of the proteins you can find in this place.

Today, my wife and I had a couple of their entrees, Scallop Jalfrezie with the hottest spices. Kashmiri Chicken with medium heat in the spices. A serving of garlic and cheese Naan. And a Strawberry Lassi to cleanse your palate.

The waiter filled our glasses with fresh ice water, then left the remaining pitcher.

It was a little busy with customers, plus the ones who came in for a pick up of their own meals. Our food came hot and fresh within 10 minutes. The aroma was so nice. The taste even better. I won’t lie, but the hottest spices on my dish had me drinking some water for the first few bites, hahahaha. But afterwards, no problem.

My wife and I shared our dishes as usual, and she even enjoyed my dish, as I also enjoyed hers.

So if you’re in the area, there’s maybe 15-20 parking spaces. And they’ll be more than happy to serve you, your sweetie, or your group of friends or colleagues.

“This Dairy Queen is AMAZING! I've gotten ice cream cakes at this particular store for years, always nice but just a normal experience. They are clean, they have a good selection and are on my way home, it's a win/win. I had a fluke with Maiya's cake that she wanted yesterday, someone else was supposed to order it but didn't and I didn't find out until 3:00 p.m. ... I wanted to pick the cake up by 4:30 p.m. I just KNEW I was going to have to get her a different design. She would have been fine but she wanted this specific one. I called the store and the young lady that answered knew she couldn't promise to help without approval so she put the owner on. I explained what happened and how I know it might not be possible but turning 13 is important for a girl so if they can make this cake by 4:30 I would even pay extra. Not only did he not hesitate to help in every way, but he took my cake order and promised it would be done by the time I got off work, all while being busy as all heck on a 70 degree day in February. He even made jokes about the weather and being so busy. There was a stress in his voice but you could tell it was a good bit of stress that he handled perfectly. It really isn't common for most places to go out of their way for customers these days. They are sticklers to the guidelines, which is understandable. They had no problem helping me out at all and it really made my baby girl's day.”

The Banana Split was perfectly made, with fresh fruit and well-balanced toppings that didn’t overpower the flavor. Honestly, it’s one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had.
