“A few months ago, my wife and I went back to our home towns visiting friends and family in Charleston, West Virginia, and the surrounding areas. We visited our favorite old restaurants, and we found some really awesome new ones, including “The Pitch”. The atmosphere included an awesome view of the playing fields, a bar with the ingenious cooling system to keep your desired beverage cooled, and lots of rustic up-cycling of materials original to building. This establishment is operated by young entrepreneurs with old souls and an excellent pallet for understanding the wants and needs of hungry fans and patrons. We tasted brussels sprouts with a flavor that was definitely missing from my childhood. Who likes brussels sprouts, I ask you. We also enjoyed burgers, homemade chips encrusted with a heavenly sprinkle of Pitch Dust, Sandwiches, and Salads, not to mention a huge list of beers on tap.
Not only was the food delicious, you felt right at home here. Emerson, our waitress, was undeniably the best waitress to ever serve food to us, along with co-workers Kobe and sous chef Bishop. They were proud of the food they were serving and knew we were enjoying it (empty plates tell their own story). This was true of all staff who served us during our adventures. Needless to say, we went back several times during our stay. We enjoyed the experience so much, we can’t stop talking about it and, are now in the process of making a few more return trips to this establishment in the very near future.

“I have always been a great fan of their awesome food! And i dont always write food reviews! I already know Sunday mornings are hectic and usually a long line but well worth the wait! I have eaten at several of the different tudors locations around the area! I would usually drive to nitro to eat but this morning i chose Dunbar! And my order the same as usual! The Big Tater! It has almost everything Tudors has to offer! I placed my order for the Big Tater and told them to load it up! Well for once they finally got it right! I havnt had the perfect Big Tater in a few years since a friend of mine left the nitro store! Finally the Dunbar store has the employees that knows what their food is supposed to be when their customer says add an extra sausage and load it all up! The perfect balance of all good things that Tudors has to offer! Kudos to you Dunbar and your awesome employees there! Many Thanks! I will be back!”

“We and my fiance were on our way to Cato Park and he recommended this place from when he and his West Virginia Paving crew stopped by after working on the road in front of the building. I got the gyro deluxe which comes with 2 sides, I chose the mashed potatoes and the pita bread with hummus. Everything was amazing! The best hummus I have ever had, I need a bucket to go next time 😆 everything tasted super fresh on my gyro, I don't even like tomato but I left it on because it was on point. The crew was super friendly, the owner made sure we were happy before he left for the day. Will definitely be back again!”

“My husband and I had Karubees for dinner. He had curry chicken and I had jerk chicken. The sides were cabbage, mac and cheese, and rice. Chicken so tender it fell off the bone and so very tasty. As you can see in the picture, I couldn't wait for my husband to shoot the pic before I had a bite. I love that her husband picks up all ingredients instead of having them shipped so they are always fresh. I highly recommend you give it a try if you like Jamaican food.”

“I LOVE Mea Cuppa. I have been going to them for years. My favorite go-to drink is the Velvet Elvis, but I’ve loved everything I’ve tried. Their coffee is so strong, but so smooth. It’s not bitter or acidic, which I love. It’s a good way to truly enjoy the flavor of coffee. I 100/10 recommend. It’s been a great little business here in Charleston. I love to frequent their west side location, and it’s always got a great atmosphere and very welcoming and kind staff. Definitely my favorite coffee place.”
