She is turning 9 and when Rachel heard that, they put a candle in her French toast, started singing happy birthday, and the entire diner joined in! Courtney was our server and she is an absolute gem! She kept a positive attitude, a smile on her face, and each and every table was taken care of. I highly recommend checking this place out! This historic 1848 inn in Wellsburg feels like stepping back in time – the rustic charm, cozy fireplaces, vintage decor, and that quirky basement tavern create an atmosphere that's warm, welcoming, and utterly unique. It's the perfect blend of history and comfort that makes every meal feel special. But let's talk about the real star: the wings. Oh my goodness, they are legendary for a reason! Jumbo-sized, perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in sauces that are packed with flavor. “Visited , Thursday 8/7/25. Never complain, but the 2 salads ordered were Oh so , disappointing. Salads were not presented as advertised, with missing ingredients , and quality of ingredients were lacking. Our server did ask if we needed more salad dressing for both salads. The portion size was smaller than we anticipated. Hopefully, just an off night !“

And, of course, it had dried cranberries, pecans and feta cheese. I would order it again. I wish they would bring back the Reuben dog. It also was delicious.“

“Great food, service and a cool atmosphere. I like how the bar area is separate from the dining area. The patio was nice too. With many TVs, it's a good place to watch sports. The menu had a plethora of choices from pizza, pub grub, seafood, many salad choices (I recommend the basil vinaigrette) and great steaks! Definitely my new go to spot when visiting Wheeling.“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants because of the quality of the food without breaking the bank with friendly servers and comfortable atmosphere. The only drawback is it's so far from where we live in Pittsburgh. It's more than hour drive if there's no traffic just to eat here. I ordered the Spagna, a spaghetti and lasagna hybrid under $11 and my partner order the grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo for $14.99. Also, they have the best peach ice tea bar none with free refills to boot. So, we can't complain. Highly recommended if your visiting West Virginia.“

“First time to this establishment today. I just had to write a review. When we first arrived we were a little nervous bc of the condition of the outside deck and entrance but we decided to give it a try. I headed straight to the restroom….big mistake. I was seriously contemplating leaving after that experience. Smelly (like sewer gas smell not from someone using restroom), dirty and just old and run down. But the person I was with was already seated & placed drink order so we stayed. The waitress was friendly enough but we told her we’d never been there before and she didn’t bother to tell us anything about specials or the menu or anything. So we ordered. I got the club sandwich with house chips, the other got the Philly sandwich and upgraded to sweet potato fries. The food was fast to come out and we were pleasantly surprised how good it looked and with the portion size. The waitress did get us refills and check on us. As we sat there we noticed how EXTREMELY FILTHY the large a/c vent grate on the wall near us was. Looked like it hadn’t been dusted or wiped down in years. And the people at the table next to us were commenting on how disgustingly filthy the wood floors were. The gentleman said it looked like it needed degreaser dumped on it and mopped about twenty times over. He also commented how ashamed he’d be if he owned a place that looked like this. I agree. The place filled up while we were there and all the food looked amazing. I saw so many items I’d like to try but…. Although we were impressed with the food I’m not sure I will ever go back. Just too dirty for me. Such a shame.“

The gentleman said to give him a moment, came back and took my information and said to order a certain item and he will make my specific request in its place! And the way she suggests items was great my husband was having a hard time deciding what he wanted, he has the beginning of alzheimers and she sat there with him and helped him order his food. She didn't care how long it took and she did it with a smile. I watched her go from table to table and the whole time with a smile and an up-beat attitude it made my visit very enjoyable. “When I go to the highlands , the Lube is the only place I will eat. I have tried others but the Lube is a 5. Always clean and fast service. I have got to know the manager Michelle & Christine and some of the other servers & bartenders by name. I am always treated well, talked to and have fun being there.They know my favorite things to eat are their wings and onion rings. I have ate other items and have always been pleased. I am very picky about my food and especially onion rings. I go into a new place and ask if the onion rings are real. They knew what I ment here at the Lube. Some places look at me like I am stupid asking that. I will not eat them made of minced onions and theirs are by far the best Ive have eaten. I see Michelle going around asking tables if their food is ok and if service is. Not enough managers do that and I feel it is very important.“
