I knew that when I saw the short ribs on the menu that this was a restaurant I had to experience. And it really is an experience. From the gondola ride to the boardwalk to the lookout over the valleys and the Banff townsite, this is a truly unique experience. And back to the beef short rib... I wouldn't have struggled to eat it without a knife, or even teeth for that matter. One of the most remarkable and enjoyable meals of my life.
Views from the Sky Bistro are amazing you get a great view of Banff, the Fairmont Hotel, and neighboring peaks. There is the Bistro but there is also a reasonably priced cafe and a souvenir shops .. perfect for getting a fresh pair of socks if yours got wet because you were wearing inappropriate shoes for walking in the snow.Why was I walking? Atmosphere is lovely... if the day is nice. Food, service, overall pretty good. Best if you can enjoy a leisurely experience but it could be hectic depending when you go.
