Well, at least after I discovered I am one of those unlucky people who think cilantro tastes like soap. Once I picked it off, everything was great. Unfortunately, I woke up this morning with food poisoning symptoms. While I cannot say for sure that it was from this meal, it was the only thing I ate that evening. The flavors were on point, but this experience has made me hesitant to order again. Hoping it was just a one time issue because I really did enjoy the food!“

“We stopped in for lunch,while visiting Trussville, Alabama. The establishment was clean and quite tidy even with the high volume of customers. We did enjoyed a delicious meal. My hubby ordered the Fat boy burrito and I two tacos(cheezy beef and redneck) both are served with chips and salsa. We each enjoyed a refreshingly tasty margarita, a perfect compliment to the meal. The staff was friendly, polite, and attentive to customers. We much appreciated the delicious and relaxing lunch, after our travels.“

Parking: There was plenty of parking. The restaurant is located near a Plaza so I didn't have any trouble . The area was lit so it I felt safe going to my car.“

“My husband and I were wowed with the excellent service we received from Paige C on 4/21/25. She was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable of the food and beverage menu, and did an outstanding job greeting us, taking our order, and being super patient with the long line. The food was outstanding, and the Mexi macaroni and cheese was incredible! Both my husband and I were extremely impressed with my steak burrito bowl. The steak medallions were cooked to perfection and literally fell apart in my mouth. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful lunch date for my husband’s birthday!“

“The food was hot and flavorful and didn't take too long to prepare. The chimichanga was nicely browned/ crisp as I like it. The chicken was shredded thoroughly and was tender and juicy with a hint of pepper heat , with only sparse pieces mingled in the filling.The prices for the lunch special were reasonable. I believe that this dish, which comes with rice and beans, is usually covered in cheese alone, though they happily added tomatoes for me. The cashier served me and another couple who ate in, and several customers picked up lunch orders. I believe the chandeliers must be remnants of the old Hickory House that originally occupied that building as they clash a bit aesthetically with the heavy and brightly painted ,carved furniture. The bench sit was very comfortable. The large space filled with light. But there seemed to be a bit of a cold draft nearest the windows. It's hard to tell, though, as the ceiling fans were still all running on high up in the high ceiling . I was especially pleased with the flavorful rice as it is the first I've ever had at any Mexican restaurant that was spiced/tomato sauced heavy enough. Overall, I believe I will visit again when in the area.“
