“Been in Tuscaloosa for 7 months now and I’ve tried every restaurant but socal cantina is the one I can’t stop going to, the California style Mexican food is just unbeatable. I recommend getting the socal burrito with or without meat it’s still delicious also I always order chips and salsa to go which they give to me for free(only place that does that) and they’re amazing at making drinks. I find it quite hilarious to see the one star reviews and their comments because I come to eat here at all different times of the day busy or slow and I’ll always give them a 5⭐️review YOU MUST TRY THIS RESTAURANT!!!”

The red wine, a Nebbiolo, was delicious. The only misfire was the NY strip. I know steak cuts can be hit or miss and I just didn't hit the lottery on this particular cut (only half was edible). It was seasoned and cooked fine, just very, very grissly. All else was wonderful and we had a very romantic dinner at a reasonable price. Definitely will go back.”

“My first Waffle House experience and it was fantastic! For starters, not only was the staff very friendly for an early Saturday morning, but they were all very polite as well. We sat down and ordered quickly, and our server was on top of everything. Our food came out fairly quickly and everything tasted great. I also paid attention to how friendly the staff was with the cool while they submitted orders and waited for their orders to go out. There was no shouting, they were polite, they weren't in each other's way and they were working quickly and efficiently. The cashier was sweet and friendly, and everyone thanked us as we left. I'm sure this restaurant gets very busy during the year, as they are on The Strip in Tuscaloosa, but I'm sure they're just as quick, efficient and awesome then as they were on an early Saturday morning. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Tuscaloosa, and hopefully all other Waffle Houses deliver the same experience as this one did. Thank you to everyone for such a great experience! ?”

“They have definitely made some major changes at this location. The employees seem to be better trained and more efficient. They were friendly and were able to get my order right on the first time. My food was hot and prepared relatively quickly. The restaurant seem to be clean and neat and in order. It was a little hot as the air conditioner did not seem to be working correctly however, it was working well in the children's play place and was extremely comfortable in there.

Listen to her talk to customers and noticed it seemed she was pregnant and remember thinking wow what an amazing lady. Wish the were more like her. She was super polite and very professional. She had two employees on break refusing to go back to work and even though she was pregnant and from the sounds of it working multiple jobs she remained calm and professional while I was there. Lots of folks could learn from her will definitely visit again.”

We parked a little far away for my elderly father to be able to walk all the way and stopped to get some drinks and find a taxi or shuttle service. Everyone was so nice to us and helped us find a ride the rest of the way to the stadium. They were so helpful and kind and you can tell they truly love what they’re doing and love to see folks walking by. They’re a joy to be around and we’ll definitely plan to stop in the next time we’re in town! Thank you! 🖤❤️🤍”

Food is very good-- pizza, sandwiches, nachos. Sometimes they have live music, bands. There is outdoor seating, as well as a number of tables inside. Best of all is the cool owner Bo Hicks, who brings community spirit into the place. Highly recommend!”
