“Was working in Tuscaloosa and a restaurant with a two hour wait recommended the River. We had the steak filet and the seared tuna. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding and the whole experience was just classy and comfortable. Brussel sprouts were on special for an appetizer, they were the best we’ve ever had. To forgetting things we asked for when taking our orders, to getting rude when asking for the things we asked for when we ordered our food. Brought our checks out , and then said she had to add gratuity, even tho one of my friends had already paid her ticket. She voided it out, and gave her the new ticket. Charged me gratuity on the 2 To-Go orders I had on my ticket. Thank goodness the manger split the Check up. The server was literally talking over my friend that was with us that was explaining the problems we were experiencing, and the manager finally told her to leave the conversation. We love the Gardendale location, we always go there with my daughter's whole ball team, and never once were we charged gratuity, and the service and food have always been excellent. The manager said, it was from corporate is the reason for mandatory gratuity for people 6 and over. Totally not true!!! Would NOT recommend the Tuscaloosa Mugshots!!!“

“The place I eat at the most on campus. Breakfast menu is satisfactory. Lunch is always the best time to go, I recommend Burrito Bowl Tuesdays and Steak Fridays. Just make sure to avoid the noon crowd. Recently started a dinner menu with rotating options from across various cultures.“

“I come here almost everyday to eat breakfast and chill by myself. The tons of tables and chairs, serving areas, and nice bathrooms are always clean. The staff and servers are always polite and nice. The only complaint I could make is that I wish there was more of a variety for breakfast, like more different kinds of fruit like strawberries or kiwi, and more variety of breakfast food like croissant sandwiches and hashbrowns. Other than that, this place is a 10/10 for me and I think it's better than Fresh Food Company!“

It gets packed on game days and you might feel a bit rushed, but that’s just part of the energy that makes it a local institution. Catch it during off hours and you can really enjoy what is a solid bar and being joint.\n\nOn my last visit I was reminded they have chili served seasonally from October to March so I went with that and have no regrets at all. It is rich, hearty, and full of flavor and just a little spicy if you get it loaded. Their breaded chicken tenders are super soft and satisfying especially with their fire sauce. Of course the wings are what they’re known for: crispy, lots of saucing choices but a little small. There is an upcharge if you want all flats or drums. I think the most if you know you know dish is the loaded potato casserole. It’s worth the trip all by itself. If you haven't tried Phil's in a while because it's a tourist trap, yeah I get that but they still are slinging pretty good food big ol glasses of beer and keeping the Strip just a little bit non chain restaurant.“
