“I’m not one to post about my restaurant experiences (this is my first review), but I have to tell you about Liz Modern Asian. The owners are charming and welcoming, setting me up for a wonderful meal and experience that didn’t expect.

The food was deliciously made to order, and the quality of the ingredients and the value was unbelievable! My favourites were the Chinese Chicken Salad with Walnut Shrimp, and the Shrimp Special Noodle with garlic! The noodles, especially, while so simple, reminded me of the noodles my mom used to make when I was growing up. They had me at noodles.

Other reviewers are right - this is a place worth visiting, and the owners know how to treat their customers making them feel like their invited guests. I’m not from the Phoenix area, but I will be back in the short time I’m here, as they went far above what I’ve ever experienced in a first visit to a restaurant!

“Just had lunch at P.F. Chang’s in Kierland and it was excellent. My husband and I sat at the bar and had the shrimp wontons, Mongolian beef with brown rice and I had hot green tea. Everything was incredibly tasty!

Our bartender, Kristen, was the best - so helpful, offered suggestions and was genuinely kind. She brought all our food and made our time there super. She even made sure we were signed up for the rewards program.

“This Father's Day celebration could have easily been a five except for the messed up pacing of the 5-course special dinner...and I do mean messed up completely with no reason or explanation from the kitchen. My wife and I love P.F. Changs. It has been six years since we have been to one since we were living in Germany. My wife saw that this one was doing a Father's Day special menu featuring a 5-course meal. Our waiter, Zander, did an outstanding job from start to finish. He was very personable and professional. The first course was a surprise from the chef so we did not know what to expect. The second course was a choice of soup, either hot and sour or egg drop. I chose the later while my wife opted for the hot and sour. The third course was a choice of one that the two of us would have to share. We selected the lettuce rolls with ground chicken. The main course featured several of the classic Chang dishes. My wife went with the Miso salmon while I tried something new to me, which was Chang's spicy chicken. Our fifth course was the dessert. Like the main appetizer, we could choose one for sharing. We opted for the butter cake as Zander strongly recommended it. My goodness was he spot on. This was fantastic. Of all the courses, this one was the best, primarily because we were able to take control of the pacing. So, let me explain. Course two, the soups, came out immediately. When I asked about course one, I was told that the soups are cooked in bigger batches so they are always ready to be served. Within a minute, course three comes out. We barely touched our soups. My wife, who eats healthily slow, was concerned as she likes to savor the flavor of the meals. Me, I eat and eat fast, probably as a result of 30 years in the military. Ten minutes later, course one comes out. Luckily, it was four pieces of sushi so this would not get cold quickly like the lettuce wraps. I asked Zander to tell the kitchen to not start preparing our meal until I tell him to so we could relax and enjoy this. My wife caught up as we consumed the first two courses (meaning course 2 and 3) and trying a piece of sushi. We also ordered a bottle of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. I gave Zander the head nod to start our mains. After 30 minutes, Zander came to apologize, informing me as to how backed up the kitchen was. This was okay with us since we were here to enjoy each other. When the main courses did come, they were both served nice and warm. My wife ate most of her salmon, but did save some for leftovers. I also had plenty of Chang's chicken left since I ate most of the appetizer of lettuce wraps. Finally, dessert came. As I said previously, this dish was sheer perfection. Our reservation was at 6:30. We finished our meal at 8:45. We enjoyed every conversation with Zander as well as the dishes. The only complaint was how rushed things were to start with and then the delay in getting the main courses out. Still, I will likely return as we like P.F. Changs and we had great service. Had it not been for Zander and the food, I might write this place off.“
