“I love Taco Tuesday here. Ordered 4 tacos with 3 different beef (asada, ground, and shredded). Amazing for only $2.25 each. All had lots of beef on em and the hard taco was fried there and hot. I really enjoy getting my own carrots and salsa. To top it off, the salsa verde (green) was fabulous and they even gave chips with the taco and the chunky red salsa was great.

The food was super hot and looked even better than the menu pictures.Staff was friendly and gave us lots of green sauce, red sauce and napkins.I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and my mom ordered the carnitas bowel. “There were 18-20 of us who called for seating. Not only were we accommodated, but truly welcomed approximately 1 hour later. “Decided to try Master Tacos out as I was not pleased with the other local taco shops nearby. What a lovely hidden gem! It is tucked away in a quiet plaza and has a no frill, but CLEAN vibe inside. We went on a Friday evening around 6 PM and there were many other patrons dining inside and ordering for takeout. I stuck with my classic, some version of an Arizona burrito. Hubby got the Carne Asada burrito. Both burritos were quite large and stuffed with plenty of tasty morsels. The food tasted fresh and there was nearly zero grease and literally zero weird textured gristley pieces of meat. The guacamole was bright green and not oxidized or loaded to water it down. They also had a small salsa bar to pack your goodies to go. I've since gone back nearly every week for their Taco Tuesday special - the shredded beef hard taco and carnitas street taco are insane! For $2.25 each they pack a full punch. 2 is enough to fill me up! They do not skimp on the meat! Prices are comparable to the other taco shops that are well known, but the quality is superb, the portions large, and the flavor is consistent👌 Do yourself a favor and give them a try!“

I was not only impressed by his customer service, but also the food you could really tell they make the food with so much love. “First visit to this location, the location interior and exterior is beautiful. This is a huge restaurant! The fresh made chips are amazing, couldn't stop eating them. I had higher expectations for the menu items, maybe they need more specials? Kids menu was minimal but $7 is great. My salad was bleh. My husband really enjoyed his shrimp fajitas and margarita though! So maybe stick with the staple menu items. Service was good, but not overly amazing or joyful (I felt like she was a little tired and I didn't want to inconvenience her). Overall good visit, just not overly wowed.“

“First time trying this location. We’d been going to the one on Greenway for years. After going to another restaurant that had an unorganized staff and no a/c, we decided to drive out here and try this. I’m so glad we did. We walked in and the hostess asked if we wanted bar or restaurant. I said I didn’t care, whichever had the shortest wait. We were immediately seated in a booth in the bar, and our server walked over. Manuel, “Manny,” was an older gentleman and very personable. But best of all, he was efficient and attentive, but not bothersome. He brought extra salsa, extra chips without asking. He brought extra water without asking and before we were empty. He checked to make sure we had everything, and at the end of our meal, he made me a balloon animal. Completely unexpected - a nice touch, I haven’t had a balloon animal since I was a kid. Manny made our night and hands down is the best server we’ve ever had. “Hands down the best carnitas Ive had in Arizona. Ive been to many Mexican restaurants in AZ that say they have Michoacán style carnitas, but I try them and notice that it’s not the case. The carnitas here are. The meat is tender and the cuerito is like butter.“

“I’m currently on a mission to find the best chilaquiles in Phoenix, and Canelas Placita is definitely worth mentioning. I ordered the chilaquiles rojos, and the salsa roja estilo Michoacán was the highlight great flavor and authentic taste.

The café de olla was excellent as well, very flavorful and prepared just right. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with good music and friendly customer service.

The only area that could use some improvement is the beans, but overall the food and service were very good.

Canelas Placita is a solid spot if you’re looking for authentic Mexican breakfast options in Phoenix. I’d definitely return.“
