The hot and iced chocolate were both amazing—rich, smooth, and full of flavor.
Their handmade chocolate bites were a real treat and tasted so fresh.

“What a cool spot. Looks like it was originally an old church or community centre… the vibe was so calming on our sunny July day when we visited. Amazing green grass, water features and wind chimes, not to mention the super healthy and tasty food. We’ll be back. Thank you!“

“A great local spot right next to the Ferry Terminal. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was fresh and absolutely delicious. This is a cozy little spot and the owner and her mom who run it are so sweet. I’ll definitely come here again as supporting local spots in the community is so important. Looking forward to trying the fresh pressed juice next time!“

“Very cute coffee shop on UBC campus. I was so surprised by all of the different bakery items they had (jalapeño cheddar muffin?!?! I’ve never heard anything like that before!). I ordered a raspberry oatmeal muffin and an iced latte. Coffee and muffin were great, staff were patient and friendly, and the coffee shop was very clean.“

“Honestly one of the best and cheapest cafes there is on campus! They have a very cute vibe, cozy study space, and fantastic food for a very low price! The hot entree I got is only $5, and I can't recommend it enough especially if you are a UBC student :)“

“I gather this place has been around for a while, but in 30 years on the North Shore, I’d never been to this gem!
Good espresso, tons of gluten free and vegan snacks — which didn’t LOOK gluten free not vegan if you know what I’m saying 🤤— and the view is to do for. Wifi is reliable enough to do some work online, but probably not to take a call!“

“I was visiting UBC for my daughter's soccer game and stopped in for some cookies and a coffee. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the Ranger cookie but they were able to substitute others. I always stop at Blue Chip when I'm in the area. You should too!“
“I had an exceptional experience at the Cedar Cafe! The Hot Chocolate was rich and decadent, and the Salmon Lock Bannok sandwich was incredibly flavorful. The added bonus of reliable and free WiFi made it the perfect spot to get some work done. I highly recommend stopping by for a delicious drink and bite to eat. The atmosphere and service were top-notch, and I'll definitely be back!“

“Similar to the Cafe Ami at VGH, but I think this location is cozier and with less glaring "surgical" bright lights than VGH. Prices are high for what the items are, but the prime location is what brings me back (along with those sinfully delicious cream cheese brownies).“

“I had a wonderful experience at this café! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the drinks were great, and everything was served with care. A special shoutout to Aoki – their hospitality truly stood out. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, Aoki made my visit extra special. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!“
