“Small Family-owned Japanese Restaurant [Chemainus BC]Wow! The last review posted was written 5 years ago. They originally offered table service but when Covid hit they only did take out and until now in September 2023 they still only do takeout orders. There are two tables for use in the dining room (good for up to 4 seating each) but there is no dining service available. This is a family-owned business (father-daughter). Friendly daughter who took our orders. We were the first one in when they opened for the day. When we originally came here first on Sunday they were closed. The business is closed on Sundays. Their business hours in Yelp needs updating. Open Mon-Sat 11:00a to 7:00p.I ordered the California Roll Bento Box. What would normally come in a bento box was served in a styrofoam box. It's okay since they are now just take out. Everything was delicious... the beef, salad, tempura except for the California Roll, it was not fresh and the kind you would get premade from a grocery store. “Walked in... didn't know it was primarily a take out place as for dine in they have no washroom... but instead of leaving I asked to have a fresh Salmon Avocado roll made, and she had it ready in less than a couple minute. Fresh and good with plenty of ginger compared to other take out places like the grocery store. If I need something quick I'll come again because they have a bunch of pre made rolls ready to go.“

“Sushi Wara is our favourite sushi restaurant in the mid Island! The staff are super friendly, helpful and will give free treats if you are a regular customer. The food is delicious and fresh and the prices are good. We definitely recommend it!“

“All was good, and reasonably fast. I enjoy when a sushi restaurant has some interesting vegetarian rolls. Asparagus roll was more substantial than most sushi places. And the honeymoon roll with tempura yam inside and mango & avocado on top was nice! It was a bit quiet with not much background music for atmosphere which was a little disconcerting being the only ones there at the time but this may not have been their usual volume maybe?“

Amazing sushi, katsu, bulgari, etc. Staff are incredibly helpful if you're not familiar with Japanese/Korean dishes, and very helpful regarding modifications.I've been coming here for 7 years now, often every week. I've never had a bad order or dish, and any possible issues are easily fixed with no complaints.Highly reccomend to beginners or novice fans of Japanese or Korean food.(I'd also kill for your guys miso recipe! I've never found any as amazing as yours, it's addicting.)“

“The best food ever, I’m Literally addicted to the chicken teriyaki noodle dish, a bit expensive, after tip, but worth every penny. Good amount of noodles and chicken, carrots and broccoli, no fillers like cabbage or bean sprouts and stuff like that, it’s 10/10 quality. And the teriyaki sauce is the best iv ever had.“

“Love all,of the food, amazing miso (not true of every restaurant), fresh sushi, tasty bento boxes, I can honestly say I’ve not been unhappy with anything they’ve prepared for me. But, if I was to tell you my favourite things the first would be the “Monkey Brains” we recently tried. We’ve had this dish in other restaurants and really thought we’d found the best version elsewhere...but we were wrong! Sushi House Monkey Brains are THE best! The spicy chopped scallop roll is a must, and if you like Pho, their soups are delectable. I recently ordered take out Pho and was so impressed when I realized that the broth was very obviously homemade and it was without a doubt the best Pho I’ve ever had.
