“Best sushi place I've been to! Wish I lived here just for the food! Service is quick, friendly and efficient. Food is unbelievably good, fresh and looks like perfection! Even the basic green tea is noticeably more delicious here!! What?!? I'll be back!“
“This is the best sushi I have found in Nanaimo. They also have a lot of gluten free itemsVegetarian options: Varied menu will work for anyoneDietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free optionsWheelchair accessibility: Entry is flat with lots of space to get around“
“I was so stocked to find a real Japanese restaurant operated by Japanese staff in Nanaimo. They are tucked away in the alley behind La Stella which is also my favourite. They offer authentic Japanese food with excellent customer service. I had nabeyaki udon and it was perfect for the day you want to be cozy and very flavourful. They close bit earlier than other restaurants so check their business hour first before you go. They also have some bar seats if you dine in solo!“
“Really great sushi, staff seemed to be having a good time there on the night we visited as well. Quick service, good food and lots of options!Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible from the wheelchair parking in the lot outside, entrance is a bit cramped but overall pretty good.“
“My go to sushi restaurant in Nanaimo!Everything is extremely fresh and very reasonably priced! If you haven’t had it yet definitely try the Salmon of fire roll!Extremely tasty!Another great roll to try is the Salmon skin roll, it’s juicy and packed full of flavour. The owners are very kind and very pleasant.5/5I always look forward to my next meal from Ai.“
“shared ramen and a roll with my wife, the ramen was outstanding our server was wonderful and chef AJ was a gem of a human the portion sizes are enormous and the presentation was great highly recommend this restaurantWheelchair accessibility: this restaurant can easily accommodate wheelchairs“
“Usually order delivered, but was driving by and stopped in. Good selection of dishes well presented.Service was very good, despite some language and hearing issues. Fans and refrigerators were noisy.Food was served much better than I expected. Nice dinner ware and cutlery. So food looked great and great tasting.Portions looked small but only because dinnerware was large. I am a big guy with appetite to match and I did NOT go away hungry.BTW, This is the only sushi place that we have found that has fresh scallops.Try it you may like it....gk...Vegetarian options: Many choices.Parking: Medium size lot, +/= 50 spaces and 3 or 4 marked disabledWheelchair accessibility: Door might be too narrow for a big power chair, otherwise looks ok.Does have disabled parking in front .No stairs and big curb cut in front .Dietary restrictions: With good choices menu can accommodate vegetarians, diabetics, gluten free and maybe other needs .“
“Had the Chasu Ramen with a Karrage side and was not expecting much for food court food. Although I was not blown away, it was fairly decent and hit the spot.Hot, well-flavoured broth, good portions and balance, and their noodle texture was good, if not a tad soft. Also the Chasu might’ve been just rolled up bacon but was still good. You won’t get that deep richness expected of restaurant-quality ramen, but for what it’s worth, you won’t be disappointed if you’re in a pinch. Karrage was delicious as expected ?“
“Was looking for a quick dinner and came in close to closing and they still served me with a smile. It was my first time here so I decided to order the Chau’s Nagasaki Jjamppong. It did not disappoint. Very flavorful and seasoned beautifully. I do not know how to cook this item nor the methods used to complete the dish. But it had a wonderful wok flavor that was imparted to the soup base. I do not know if I wok was even used to cook it. The chasu was soft and chewy. The vegetables included in the broth was a nice surprise. I pretty munched finished off the soup base. Highly recommend and would come back. The gentleman server was really nice.Parking: There are a couple of free street parking spots and lots of paid street parking spots“
“My wife and I tried out for the first time and are very impressed with every single dish we ordered. The quality of food was top-notch and the service was welcoming and friendly. Very reasonably priced and well worth a try. Definitely a hidden gem and possibly one of the best in town for both Japanese & Korean cuisine.“
“Went here on a recommendation from a native Nanaimoan. A dimly lit restaurant from the outside may give the impression of a diminutive eatery but the flavors did not disappoint. The ramen soup was well flavored with simple good ingredients while not being overly seasoned. The fried oysters were good as the oysters taste was preserved during the fry technique. Both dishes were outstanding. Pro: good food and good service. Con: public WiFi is through Roger’s which requires a sign in. Ramen was a tad pricey but still worth it.Vegetarian options: Not manyDietary restrictions: NoneParking: Parking shared by other vendorsKid-friendliness: Saw a few kids eating with their parents“
