“Willkommen in der Schweiz! Hailing from Switzerland, the Zuppiger family (Joe, Margrit and 5 children) leave behind their organic orchard and dairy farm for the wonderful possibilities in Canada. Resuming dairy farming in Alberta for 10 years, the beautiful Lake Country life reminiscent of East Switzerland quickly lured them to the new home away from home. Purchasing Suncrest Vineyard and the Carter Farm, the Zuppiger’s officially opened their doors in 2003 becoming the second winery in the area. Eldest son Manuel took up the family honour of a 3 year apprenticeship program in winemaking in Switzerland, then honing his skills in the Barossa Valley, Hillside Winery and finally Tin Horn Creek. Previously producing stunning grapes to Gray Monk, Arrowleaf Cellars has become an award winning winery and an Okanagan “MUST VISIT”!
