“I just came to JJ Bakes for the first time this week and I have been here a total of 3 times now. The staff is friendly, the music is good and service is amazing

I came here on a Saturday around 1pm with a line towards the door. I waited maybe a total of 5-6 minutes (which is no time at all to wait during a rush). They had forgotten my cupcake so after i received the drinks I had kindly notified them and they corrected it with an addition of another item, which was totally unexpected as I didn’t mind waiting“

“I was taken here for my birthday and LOVED it! They even accommodated my allergies so I could enjoy high tea with my friends. This first positive experience is what led me to take my mom here for HER birthday, and it was another great experience. Fantastic staff, beautiful place and wonderful food. We will be back.“

“We discovered Cortado Cafe on our recent return to BC, Walnut Grove. It has become our go to place for tea, coffee, chai tea & incredible oatmeal raisin cookies. The sandwiches are phenomenally good as well. It’s got that great independent feel, comfortable chairs with pillows for your back. The staff greet you, remember you and “ have a great day “ as you leave. I can’t say enough about this cafe. Oh yeah they play great music, currently in the middle of a Beatles session on a Sunday afternoon.“

“Working next door to them has been a challenge over the years. Constantly drawn in by the aroma of multiple variations of fresh sourdough, bacon croissants and a large selection of other desserts. Staff has always been extremely friendly and great neighbour's.

Allthough the bakery is tucked away in an industrial area, it has a constant flow of customers all week, and once you've stepped foot in, youll likely understand why.“

“We are incredibly grateful to Marie's Guilt Free Bakery for their generous donation of cookies and cupcakes for our Celiac Awareness Day Event in White Rock on May 16. Their kindness and commitment helped us create a truly meaningful, welcoming, and exciting event for our community.

The cookies and cupcakes were a huge hit with our members and attendees. In fact, the cookies became an instant favourite and disappeared almost immediately, with many people returning for seconds — only to find there were none left! The baked goods were truly one of the highlights of the day and received so much positive feedback from everyone who had the opportunity to try them.

“Bought the next to last loaf of sourdough available at yesterday’s Trout Lake Market. It exceeded all expectations - beautiful firm/chewy crust with pillow like interior filled with golden raisins (?). Next visit to YVR I’ll try to track down another loaf. Recommend.“

“Delicious butternut squash soup. It was nice that a croissant could be substituted for bread in a sandwich. Great coffee too. Parking can be tight in the Willoughby location.“

“Cute little cafe that I ended up at by accident (trying to get to another bakery but didn’t notice until after I left it was the wrong one), nice atmosphere and despite being a busy area during the lunch hour I was able to find parking without an issue. Grabbed an iced coffee and fresh made to order panini style sandwich both of which were great. Overall spent $14 I believe.“

“Great customer service with engaging and friendly staff. The bread is quite good, definitely above average and priced accordingly. The cinnamon twist is so sweet. They are covered with/in brown sugars. (see photos) Best to enjoy it with a cup of black coffee or a glass of warm milk. The bakery is located in a warehouse district. Shared parking. Nearest bus stop is about 6 minutes walk, according to Map. You can also find their baked goods in some of the local stores.“

“Fantastic local shop, amazing muffins. Lots of old timers hanging out on a Wednesday morning, bought a couple dozen eggs from a farmer that hangs out here every second Wednesday. Cozy seating and lots of blinds so I’m not sitting in the sun.“
