Atmosphere is beautiful, moody, every detail feels intentional.
Standout was the pappardelle. Oysters always good. Tiramisu also delicious.
The pork - UNREAL. The juiciest, soft/qq, overall just a great bite.
Come with friends and share a lot. Come yourself and sit at the bar. Either way, worth checking out.”

“Long story short, their pasta was the bomb. They make it fresh right in front of you and it’s just an absolute winner. Simple as that. We had pasta in Italy and I would say they are comparable. If you’re a big pasta person, this place is definitely for you. That being said, the almond semifreddo dessert was not disappointing as well. As far as service goes, I appreciate that they don’t come up to you every 2 minutes to ask “how’s the first few bites?” yet all the servers are still friendly and attentive throughout. For me, it doesn’t get any better than that. Let me eat my food and if I need something, I’ll let you know. Important to note: if you’re coming on a Saturday, be sure to be there by 4- 4:10pm to make sure you get seated. The line gets really long shortly thereafter. A restaurant with a long line outside will always draw more attention than the empty ones, very clever 😉 So make sure you go early…. And enjoy!”

“Oh my… this was quite an experience! When going there, letyourself be surprised by the Chef’s Menu (Menu dégustation in french). Surprise after surprise, it will make you live a real culinary experience! And our waiter (fluently bilingual) was excellent and vey passionate! Along with the lady who brought each plate and explained to us what they were. And finally the manager, I believe, who came over a few times to talk about the plates, the wine and how the pasta were made the same day, very early in the morning The wine suggestion was also perfect! Finally, the décor is not at all what you would expect, from looking at the menu on the web-site; very fresh, young, modern, yet very warm decor! Please go and try this place. I will definitely be back when travelling to Vancouver. Merciiii!”

“If you are like me and growing up in a household with “traditional, slow cooked, 12 hours on the stove” kinda’ dishes were just another regular Tuesday night dinner, you know those flavours and dishes are almost impossible to find elsewhere. La Tana has managed to create the same flavours, dishes and love that I remember so dearly sharing with my family around the table. Thank you La Tana”

“Good food that's pretty standard. Didn't feel that anything in particular stood out for dimsum specially for a place that was Michelin rated or award winning. Pricing sure reflected it though. Quality of the ingredients did seem a little better than the other restaurants.”

“Chicken based ramen so really depends on your preference. Flavours were clean and had flavour add ons. Noodles were thin only so depends if you prefer thick like other ramen places.”

“Great little spot for an elevated sushi experience. It’s a very small restaurant so make a reso. The attentive but non-disruptive service is appreciated, as the tables are quite small so the tidying is a nice touch. The prices are not cheap, for example, my nigiri set was $65. Pay street parking is available so arrive early for your reso to snag a spot nearby.”

“My wife tried Mr. Shawarma on Robson last night and after she offered me a bite I had to go back and order one for myself - so good! As well, the personal touch and friendly vibe of the chef and team made my whole trip downtown feel worth it. I will build a trip to Mr. Shawarma into my downtown trips from now on!”

“Overall experience here was great! The food was super fresh, customer service was on point as expected and the atmosphere was incredibly lively. There’s so much happening here which can get a bit overwhelming, especially with all of the clashing sounds. You’ve got the main music, birthday celebrations with tambourines and the hand pulled noodle guy that walks around with his own speaker! On top of that, it’s also incredibly busy. The only thing that genuinely made my table uncomfortable was the noodle guy. He came to our table and hit our friend in the face and head with the noodle multiple times. At first it was funny, but as it kept going we got increasingly more uncomfortable. He hit all 3 of us in the faces and the entire experience made us feel really weird. Other than that, everything else was great. The waiting area is super spacious and they have lots to do to keep you distracted and busy while you wait!”

“Wow, we had a great time at Gary’s tonight. Second time at the restaurant (lat time was during the rugby seven’s weekend - an exciting time in Vancouver) - first time sitting at the bar (tonight) The kitchen was great to watch, my favourite moment was when two of the cooks bumped shoulders and they took a moment to pause and acknowledge (so great to see such a fantastic team working together). The food was incredible and we really appreciated the table menu with an addition of the foie gras to the night. But this story begins in 2007 when we watched World Cup rugby on a patio in Toulouse France when we had our first Fois Gras. The fois gras was just as good as our first experience - thank you kitchen! Thank you to all the staff but especially to Tina who provided some incredible pairings for the meal!”

“It was a dry Sunday so the benches were out on the sidewalk. We had a craving for fish and chips and an oyster Po’boy. The fries were crisp. The fish batter perfect. The oysters were fresh and the kimchi elevated the sandwich. The cole slaw was light on sauce and to me just right. Overall a great lunch outing!”

“Chicken Fingers and Fries + 1516 Lager. Mountain poutine is really weird and the gravy is like drinking beef mr noodles broth. I love me a good stop at t bar to get some grub and a couple brewski's. Service is questionable at times, but that's just because the staff lives the party life! Sit up at the bar and you will get served instantly. I will be back in February of this year & I will visit again.”
