“Stopped by based on a recommendation from a friend after lamenting that very few bakers in the lower mainland know how to properly bake and… I was really impressed!

Their puff pastries, and in particular their croissants, were exemplary! Perfectly laminated with even and fluffy flake, just the right amount of chew, and uniformly caramelized. Probably the best in and around Vancouver.

Service was super friendly. Went early on a Saturday, so can’t speak to how orderly they are during rush, but I would happily wait in line for their treats.

“After finishing my hearing test a few doors down I wanted to grab a coffee for my trip back to Maple Ridge. I went into a name brand store, was ignored and left. Then I spotted this gem. I ordered my usual black coffee and watched as someone actually ground the fresh beans and then made my coffee in a French press. I joked with them that that's how I make my coffee at home. I added a blueberry lemon scone and had a nice drive home. All 3 staff were a pleasure to deal with, and my snack was delicious.“

We ordered a fettuccine with shrimps, an avocado salad croissant, and a cheese pressed burger with double meat. Everything was so good, especially the burger! It was grilled just right. They had a table setup for us in the corner where there was lots of natural light from outside and the table just looked so cutely prepared for us. The staff were very friendly and quick to assist us. We chose the Strawberry Sundae tea which was infused with so many flavours making it very delightful to sip on. And when the bakery items were brought over there was a good assortment of yummy foods. The top of the tier was all of the desserts and the bottom was all of the pastries. Both of us did get a bit of a sugar rush, to be expected of a bakery haha. We both highly recommend Cassandra Cake Co. for high tea as well as any custom bakery requests.“

The cake tasting was super helpful as well to figure out the flavour and icing we wanted. Also they were super generous in adding flowers to the cake that matched my wedding flowers. Luisa also personally delivered the cake for a small price all the way to Pitt Meadows so that she could make sure it arrived safely. The guests loved the cake as well! “A nice little Vietnamese sub place tucked away in a small parking lot in Central Burnaby. Ordered a few special banh mi sandwiches and tried the sausage rolls here.

The banh mi is very filling. Nice amount of pate and butter and nice bun as well. A bit salty with the soya sauce but overall really tasty. The sausage roll was nice too, very large, but more of a pork based sausage roll. I liked both and glad I gave this place a try.

We had hands-on instruction about making small dacarons and a mini-cake, and the experience was so enjoyable, both in instruction and atmosphere.
