“Three of us recently tried the $38 prix fixe menu at Lavidas in Kits. What great value!

We all started with the French onion soup, though the prawn and scallop ceviche and mango salad were tempting alternatives. The soup didn't disappoint, having plenty of cheese and served piping hot. Beware not to scorch your mouth!

We tried one each of the mains - duck confit, braised beef and seafood linguine. Duck was good but the accompanying scalloped potatoes were said to be dry. Wife liked the linguine and had leftovers for lunch the next day. Actually, portion size overall was generous. The beef was the best dish of the night. Meat was melt in your mouth tender, gravy delicious, vegetables cooked a nice al dente and a bonus, an unexpected Yorkshire pudding

Dessert was chocolate creme brulee and a strawberry rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream. A nice finish to a very good meal.

“I’m from out of town I have always wanted to go for the past few years. I was here for a day alone, and they were quickly able to accommodate me at the bar and offered me the full menu. Even better was happy hour, great price on food and drinks. Well worth it, and I look forward to coming back and having a nice sitdown meal. It seems the menu changes for the seasons so always new options. Friendly staff.“

“I would give 6 stars for service if I could. I’ve never seen staff so attentive or feel like they cared about the diners’ experience so much.

After each course they would immediately clear old plates and cutlery as to give us a fresh experience for each dish.

Ordered the dover sole, ribeye, foie gras, frog legs, and steak tartare. Felt like the sauce that came with the steak was a bit too sweet and wish it came with more salt, but the rest of my party enjoyed it.

During the later hours the atmosphere of the restaurant definitely improved and became more quiet and relaxing.

“Nice server he was actually french which is what i liked about this restaurant, (that it was actually french). The atmosphere was great with a pianist playing nice music. The food was great i had the bœif bourguinon and the tartare to start everything was wonderful and left with a full stomach!“

“Unbelievable food. I had the braised lamb and my wife had the cod and prawns - both were specials that night. Both were off the charts good. The staff we interacted with (owner?) was super friendly, funny, and laid back. It was such a great meal! The restaurant is small and doesn't feel like a fancy place, even though the food definitely is. Do not skip this place!“

“Im always on the search for a good french restaurant, and this was a bit closer to home than many. The place is decorated much like a true French Cafe, very cozy. Lovely server greeted us and we had our choice of tables.

The menu changes, but for this night we each chose the 3 course menu so we could expand or tastebuds.
Starters were escargot and marinated shrimp. (Fantastic bread with chive apricot butter as well). Hubby had the sablefish with pommes Anna (those were the absolute best buttery potatoes)! I had the Wagyu tartare with pommes frites. Both meals decadent delicious.
Finished with the lava cake served with house made vanilla ice cream (perfect) and the vanilla creme brulee. So light and creamy for both desserts...though I am sure there's no way the ingredients are light!

“I come here every month with my best friends for a boys dinner. The food is always perfect, the service is exceptional and the lively atmosphere really makes it special in the Vancouver dining scene.

What I love about the food is that every bite of every dish is perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. It’s not trying too hard, it’s not cooking for TikTok influencers or trying to go viral, it’s just delicious classic food that someone clearly put a lot of love into.

“I first went to Pidgin when it first opened. I got there again last night and regret not getting back there sooner! The Asian-French flavours were beyond fantastic. We covered a slew of dishes on the a la carte menu and everything was so mouth-watering that we wanted to order everything all over again (except we were so full). “Argo Burger topped with bacon, cheese, fried onions and egg is served alongside a mound of fries. Delicious, whether eaten hot or cold. Fried chicken burger is one of the best in town. Fish and chips came with equal amounts of both, which translates into lots. Creamy Chicken chili con queso and heaping plateful of Spicy lamb on their respective beds of rice were stick-to-your-bones good. Then there's the home-baked pie and the OMG butter tart! “We had a wonderful dining experience at Croquette Brasserie. Our waiter was both helpful and charming, adding a personal touch to the evening. We started with the moules-frites, sharing the mussels and fries as an appetizer. The dish was outstanding—perfectly cooked mussels paired with crisp, golden fries. For our main course, we chose pasta sourced from their sister restaurant, Fiore Famiglia, which happens to be our long-time favorite neighborhood Italian spot. As expected, the pasta was impeccable, showcasing the quality and flavors we’ve come to love. A special highlight was the crème brûlée, torched at our table by the waiter. Watching the caramelized sugar form into a crackling, golden crust was such a treat, and the result was as delicious as it was entertaining. The ambiance was made even better by live music from "Van Django," an incredible violin and guitar duo. Their lively and romantic performance elevated the evening to something truly magical. “I've been going to Bâtard for several years -- my favourite bakery in town and worth the 15 minute drive. Great bread & scones, pastry to die for, and wonderful atmosphere for a lunch. I'm more than a little suspicious by several coordinated reviews which trash the place, particularly as one of the reviews is by an owner of the new bakery which just moved in across the street ... hmmmm ...“

The teacher is very knowledgable, they have a library where you can pick some books to take home, they also organize different activities so people can get together and practice. “The decoration is 5 stars the food is ok they have afew options not much.i was there for iftra with my family once the food finished then its done and you have to wait for at least 30 mins till the refill it . We didn’t get chance to try the dessert because there is a small portion like 10 small serving of fermi once it finished they didn’t replace so you have to be careful with dessert. Unless if you want to pay extra for bakery and buy to eat with your tea . Also it was Ramadan every thing is limited ,tea, manto, rice over all for afghans buffet is not bad . It’s was much better if they cook enough and have afew servers“
