“Today we tried the cinnamon twists, jalapeno and cheese criossants, and their breakfast sandwiches. absolutely amazing. The only downside to this visit, is that I won't be able to have more and try their other delicious looking bakery items until I return to Salt Spring. Their staff were also amazing and very good on handwashing between duties. I highly recommended this bakery!“

“I ordered a muffin and sadly it was overdone and dry and it didn’t even get finished.People told us to try out this bakery so it must be good! The others in our group said their item was good so maybe it was just a bad day to pick a muffin? Will def go back and try again next time over that way.“
“Was given THE yummiest golden mylk turmeric tea. She asked how spicy I wanted it. Which I've never been asked before. I felt like I entered another world in this magical little space. I spoke to the owner for a bit. She was lovely and knowledgeable. Felt like I received a mini well-being consult! It has been added to my "must go to" list when I'm on Salt Spring. I've told so many of my friends about it. Morningside is more than a shop or cafe- it's an experience. Much love to you, Manon.“

“I had the best oat milk latte and chilli. the service was wonderful, and they were accommodative to my celiac allergy and replaced the complimentary bread with a gluten free brownie at no extra charge. i was so pleased i went back within the week. definitely a hidden gem and i wish i discovered this place sooner! i want to come by every time i’m in the valley if i can.“

“Having traveled extensively across both Western and Eastern countries, and sampled a vast array of cuisines, I was not prepared for the culinary surprise awaiting me at Francis Bread on Salt Spring Island, Canada. In a region where one might expect more conventional fare, the breakfast sandwich here stands out remarkably. The fusion of flavors, with a subtle Asian influence, elevates the dish, making it uniquely suited to the island’s eclectic culinary landscape. The balance of tastes is both unexpected and delightful, leaving a lasting impression in this often-overlooked corner of Canadian gastronomy.“
