“Melinda’s Bistro is literally a hidden gem in beautiful Sidney, BC. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is amazing…especially their breakfast sandwiches and soups!!! They have a lot of great items on their menu to choose from, and their prices are on par…if not cheaper…than similar cafes in the Sidney/North Saanich area. If you’re travelling to or from the ferry or the airport, you should definitely check this place out!! :)“
“Although I am not exactly the target audience for an English Tea room, I have to say that Butchart far exceeded any expectations! Although we have been to the Gardens many times over the last 4 decades, this is the first time that my wife suggested that we take “High Tea” before our stroll through the amazing gardens... And of course it proved to be a wonderful idea as I relished every bite and sip (we also had the 3-glass “taster” which paired with the food nicely)... I will absolutely be taking tea on our next visit!“
“VANILLA LEAF BAKERY CAFE4605 Bedwell harbour road, #17, Driftwood Centre Mall, Pender island, BC…. This quaint, cozy little bakery is easily found in the mall right across from the most central access entrance to the parking lot right before one gets to the Copper Otter restaurant… Two of the front staff employees here, Yoko and Jensen, with their warm, charming and effervescent demeanors, do a wonderful job of assisting one in wading through the myriad of choices of so many deliciously yummy items to eat here… Be that one of the generously sized, freshly made sandwiches or wraps, hearty soups, healthy breads, or any of the colourful and varied flavours of sweet treats available here. The staff making everything back in the kitchen do an amazing job…There are also a whole host of hot or cold drinks available made with care by the front staff as well…cakes and pies are available for special occasions….Not a day goes by that I do not partake in spending some of my time here at the bakery near the central grassy courtyard in the mall… see you tomorrow!John K Welsh, Coquitlam, BC“
“The Marigold Cafe is an absolute must-visit spot, especially when you're out on a bike trip around the peninsula. I frequently stop here during my rides, and it has become my favorite break spot. Not only is it a great place to recharge with a snack and some energy, but the atmosphere is just perfect for a relaxing pause. The cafe is always clean, giving a refreshing and welcoming vibe. Additionally, the staff are consistently friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. It's a little haven for cyclists and anyone looking for a cozy spot to unwind. Highly recommend!“
“This is a great spot. They make good coffee and good breakfast wraps. Pretty quick to serve unless it’s busy. They have fair prices also and are open an hour earlier than some of the other coffee shops around so now I come here in the mornings.“
“It is a bit out of the way, but definitely worth the stop. If you're headed to the ferry or airport, you should take a little detour for a pre-departure meal or snack. Their specialty lattes are great and I'm sure all the other pastries are good. I only ever get the vanilla custard Danish and I'm never disappointed. If you go in the summer they also have in-house refreshers as well which are also very good. If they break into charcuterie it would be a perfect place for me, at least.“

“Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. One star loss because the two window tables are horrible to sit at because the table legs are massive metal making it near impossible to comfortably sit at. Never mind I smashed my knees hard getting in.Anyway. The London fog was excellent and the berry scones were some of the best I’ve ever had.“

“I ordered the Fish and Chips. It was great and exactly what you can expect for a decent Fish and Chips.But the Ruckle Stew is THE best option in my opinion.I was just about to to go twice during my 3 day visit to Salt Spring Island, it’s so good!Parking: I guess in peak season it can be difficult to park as the restaurant and business are in a very tight corner. But I went off season.“

“A mixture of performance art, cafe, organic food, and stirred with a wand of mystical indifference. The owner is a bit challenging and she might serve you or might not, it's kind of like getting an instant tarot reading from your hippy barista. If she is happy she is kind and you shall be served, if she is moody well then it's performance art. The drinks are really good, excellent even. The food is excellent and mostly confectionery and has lovely spices. I am a repeat customer and she even gives me the evil eye from time to time, but she then comes around and does make a wonderful beverage. The rock salt nextdoor has the worst coffee, chai, and is terrible so ya know there are limited options. It's not personal...it's just coffee...Dietary restrictions: Lots of dairy free and gluten-free alternatives.“
“We recently ordered pizzas (2 vegan and 1 vegetarian) from Panago in Sidney. We were all so pleasantly surprised at the speed and accuracy in which our order was filled and thoroughly appreciated a phone call to double check an ingredient selection (regular cheese via non dairy cheese) that we had made in error. The pizzas arrived quickly, very hot - obviously fresh from the oven and delicious. We all agreed it was by far the best Panago experience we've ever had! Thanks so much!“
