The ice cream options, especially for the dairy-free, felt a bit limited, though. The ones there felt few and somewhat generic. The more interesting ones were all dairy. Slightly disappointing to see.“

“Stopped by for a coffee last Friday evening and the place was cozy without feeling crowded, which was a nice surprise. Their brown butter soft serve is honestly the best thing on the menu, and I say that after probably a dozen visits over the past couple years. The staff remembered my usual order and had it ready before I even finished paying, which always makes the trip feel worth it. Parking around that block can be tight, but there's a small lot behind the building that most people don't seem to notice.“

“We got some pancakes from their food truck and there was a small issue with their pancake machine, but we had to catch the shuttle for Grouse mountain and had to leave. The owner said that he would run and get us the pancakes to the bus, but, the bus had to leave. Then we were on our way and crossed the bridge when we saw him in his truck driving next to us with the pancakes. He followed our bus and delivered the pancakes when the bus stopped! This is definitely the most incredible service and one of our highlights of the year! What an awesome amazing person who deserves all the best! Thank you soo much, you really made us que our kids happy:)“

“I had a very disappointing experience here. I had a “WE SPEND” voucher that clearly listed this store and its address. Before leaving, I double-checked to make sure everything was correct. While I was waiting in line, the staff started talking to me and asked me to choose an ice cream flavor, so I said coconut and pistachio. By the time I reached the counter, they had already scooped one for me. Then they told me they received a call yesterday saying they would no longer accept the voucher. I was left with no choice but to pay, and it felt like I was being forced into a purchase rather than being supported in enjoying a local business. On top of that, this gelato isn’t even half as good as Passione Gelato—which is cheaper too. Completely frustrating and disappointing.“

“Bendick's is amazing!

I came for the first time looking for a cake! The lady recommended the cookies and cream as the top seller and oh my was it delicious! I had asked for happy birthday to be written on it only if possible, and despite it being so busy in the store, the lady at the front made it happen all by herself!!

I will definitely come back and try out some of their house made ice creams, highly recommend! Ample parking as well!“

“The most lovely staff and amazing gelato! It was both mine and the employee’s birthday which was a fun coincidence. Gelato was so creamy and flavourful and the scoops are really generous! My friend is a cherry-chocolate ice cream connoisseur and she said this was the best she’s ever had.“

We sat out on the little patio around 11am and the staff kept checking in without being annoying about it, which I appreciated. The avocado toast had this chili crunch on top that nobody at the table expected but everyone loved. Honestly already planning to go back before the weather turns.“

Not only is the ice cream fantastic, but the staff are also incredible and exceptionally kind. It’s a Sunday, and we came out for an evening treat, seeing four of them today. They were all so friendly and welcoming.

Hazel has been very attentive to our needs; when we ordered a personalized Father’s Day cake last June, it turned out perfect! She always make it a point to make us feel welcome.

We stop by here whenever we can. My daughter loves coming here. It’s great to have such a wonderful place close to home.“

“We found this cafe in the late afternoon of a Saturday. We needed an energy boost after walking around Granville Island. We go to Granville Island quite often, but we have never been to this side and have never noticed this cafe.

We ordered a coffee, a cookie and a tart. Everything tasted great, but they were priced towards the higher range.

The interior design looked good, too. However, towards the closing hours, the cafe might not look its best in terms of tidiness. There was a lady having a video cal behind me, and she was quite loud. She also played her hair at the same time, so much so that her hands touched my head a few times, which was quite annoying. Not the fault of the cafe, though. Perhaps if the chair was not placed so close to me, it could have helped.

In a higher end cafe like this, I did not expect people being loud like that. However, I am not a regular to cafes, so I do not have an idea of how people normally behave.“

“Underrated dessert shop. They sell the cheapest desserts from ice cream, French toast, hot desserts from china and shaved ice. The store itself isn't too big or too small. But when you order you have to go up to the counter and the wait is kind of long beacuse there's only one person making and serving it.“
