Not sure why all the hate but Sesame probably gives the most bang for your bucks on campus. The food is consistent and the portions are huge. Sure, the Chinese food in the international basement is cheaper but at least here you can see how clean the kitchen is. That said, prices have increased within the last few months. Also, come near closing for a discount.
After exploring the Wreck beach, came in this small place where is very close to the UBC Bus Loop. Sesame doesn’t have too many options. It’s a good choice for a quick lunch though. We ordered Combo B and C, which are pretty similar, including broccoli, cabbage and carrots, then all meets, sesame chicken, sweet&sour pork, and BBQ pork, along with rice or noodles . We ordered two dishes, one with two toppings and one with three toppings. The base was fried rice with vegetables, which was tasty. Our favorite topping was the sweet and sour chicken, followed by the spicy fried shrimp. I'm not a fan of beef brisket, so I didn't enjoy it as much, but it wasn't bad at all. The tofu and fried chicken were also good.
