“Shayla, our server, was absolutely amazing! She explained the menu thoroughly and made excellent recommendations that we were glad to try. The entire experience was exceptional, and the food was perfect from start to finish.We had the red wine braised short rib of beef from Double R Ranch — it melted in my mouth and the flavor was out of this world. We started with the scallops and smoked bison tartare, both of which were outstanding.For other mains, we enjoyed the wood grilled lamb, the Hank tenderloin steak, the Wagyu beef picanha from Brant Lake Farm in Alberta, Blue Dot Beef in Prince Edward Island striploin (10 oz). They were all amazing. The Blue Dot had incredible flavor — juicy, tender, and hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Every steak was beautifully cooked and packed with flavor.We finished the evening with trying ALL THE DESSERTS! The baked Alaska was beautiful and delicious! The ice cream trio was so creamy and rich. The creme brûlée was smooth and dreamy. The chocolate cake was moist and perfectly matched with the passionfruit sauce. The fam favorite was definitely the cheesecake… we were all wanting it! Perfect flavor not too sweet and very smooth. Blackberries were a perfect match. We also had the donuts.. don’t forget about those. Im still dreaming of them. Highly recommend — a truly unforgettable meal!“

“Was so lovely! This is our go to date spot. Only complaints are we ordered 12 oysters and they gave us 10 and we had to say something. We also ordered a 40 dollar glass of wine and they didn't tell us anything about the wine. For a wine bar you'd think they'd have a back story and something fun to share with their coravin wines. All in all we had a great time and sat at the bar which was interactive and fun.“

“Honestly the food was fine and service were great! We got the tasting menu ($75/person) and tried 8 different dishes. We did mention needing an accommodation for no spicy dishes as I don’t eat spicy.

The only reason I docked one star is because of amount of food for value. As a petit lady this was filling enough for me but my partner was definitely not full. We felt that had we known about the selection of dishes within the tasting menu we would’ve preferred to order a la carte, and still come out to a total less than what we paid.

Recommendation for restaurant would be to ask diners in advance if there was any dish they’re dying to try to ensure it’s included in the menu (I.e., we asked about a dish when discussing the menu and was disappointed it wasn’t included for us).“

“Had been hoping to come just for the cool NBA vibes, but we didn’t check the hours closely enough, so we awkwardly walked past while they were closed. One of the managers spotted us and opened up just so we could come in and eat lunch! He was an incredible host, the vibes are impeccable inside and the food is great! 10/10 experience.“

Tucked away in a less than inspiring alley, you enter to feel the warmth of a cozy little tasting room. Red brink line the walls and soft dim lights bathe the long spare room. The counter is accented with an array of colorful piggy banks which serve as placeholders for table reservations, very cute.

Our hostess was super friendly, and helpful in serving up two wine flight trios. The Proyecto granacha we had was the standout but we were happy to try all of them.

We lingered here for quite a while before continuing our walk through Gastown. Recommended if you want to break your day of exploring with a leisurely glass of wine.

“Rude server - My wife's first experience going out after giving birth. The male server peaked over her shoulder while she paid and made a rude comment when he saw she tipped 'only' 15% on a $20 cocktail. Completely ruined her night. Train your staff better.“

“I’ve visited this restaurant many times, and it’s always such a pleasant experience. The interior feels upscale yet relaxing, and all the staff are friendly and welcoming.

The “Holly Cow” platter is an amazing selection of meats — without a doubt the best taste you can find in Vancouver.

They also offer individual BBQ sets and counter seating, which makes it easy to come alone, while the private table seating creates a wonderful atmosphere for families or friends to enjoy together.

“We had a wonderful dining experience at Croquette Brasserie. Our waiter was both helpful and charming, adding a personal touch to the evening. We started with the moules-frites, sharing the mussels and fries as an appetizer. The dish was outstanding—perfectly cooked mussels paired with crisp, golden fries. For our main course, we chose pasta sourced from their sister restaurant, Fiore Famiglia, which happens to be our long-time favorite neighborhood Italian spot. As expected, the pasta was impeccable, showcasing the quality and flavors we’ve come to love. A special highlight was the crème brûlée, torched at our table by the waiter. Watching the caramelized sugar form into a crackling, golden crust was such a treat, and the result was as delicious as it was entertaining. The ambiance was made even better by live music from "Van Django," an incredible violin and guitar duo. Their lively and romantic performance elevated the evening to something truly magical. “Definitely a must-visit, cozy Greek restaurant in the heart of the old Greek neighborhood in Kitsilano. The food was full of authentic Mediterranean flavors, bringing back wonderful memories. The sea bass was outstanding, fresh and flavorful as if it came straight from the Mediterranean. We also enjoyed perfectly fried atherines and gavros, along with a crisp, finely chopped lettuce salad that was incredibly refreshing. The tiganopsomo, loaded with cheese and served with a side of creamy taramosalata, was another highlight. From the meat selection, the pancettas, juicy keftedakia, and were absolutely delicious. The grilled octopus paired beautifully with a glass of ouzo to finish the meal.

They offer an impressive selection of authentic Greek wines, but this time we opted for Aperol spritzes, which were light and refreshing. Next time, I am looking forward to trying their wine selection along with their famous meat platter.

Service was warm, genuine, and friendly, making me feel like I was back in Greece.

Baklava was home made, the food was well proportioned and the service was personalized. Party of 5 on a Friday night at 8pm, and we were impressed. Surprised it was not more busy! “My boyfriend an I were looking for a place to dine while walking around Gastown when we came across Al Porto. We entered and where greeted by the waiter SIXTO. He made us feel very welcomed and took care of us. We had the lasagna which was excellent and the calamari which we found to be very chewy and tough. Not properly prepared. We ordered Molson Canadian beer and where told that we don’t carry it. SIXTO recommended we try The Kokanee beer which was comparable. We where offered the dessert menu but declined and had another Kokanee. Overall experience was good with exceptional service from our waiter. Will defiantly return to this restaurant next time we are visiting Vancouver.“

“Humbolt squid was deliciously coated and not too oily; I'm not usually a fan of calamari. Chips and guac also exceptional for that kind of thing. My Mediterranean Bowl - excellent. Dining on the seawall - unmatched. Tap and Barrel has come a long way from when I ate there last, perhaps 8 years ago? I took visiting family there and would definitely repeat this experience with friends soon.“
