I also like the different choices of vegetables and onions and avocado and cilantro and jalapenos that I can ask my sandwich also the different kind of lunch meats that can be out of it for a great. The staff were incredibly friendly, they gave us such a warm welcome to California… but beyond that the food was AMAZING. “What a classic spot. Giamela’s in Burbank is one of those true old-school institutions that’s been holding it down for decades. They’ve got another location in Sunland, but this was my first time hitting the Burbank one. A friend of mine’s been going for years and kept telling me I needed to check it out. I finally made it, and now I get why people swear by it.
The place is small and simple, no frills or fancy remodels, just that timeless, comfortable charm. You walk in, order at the counter, and instantly feel like you’re in a neighborhood joint that’s been around forever. They’ve got a short but strong menu, maybe ten sandwiches tops, hot and cold. That’s all they need. The parking lot’s small but manageable, and there’s outdoor seating with shade, plus some tables inside. It’s not modern, but it’s clean and real , the kind of spot where the focus is on the food, not the décor. Now for the sandwiches. The first time I went, I ordered their Pepper Steak, which is kind of their signature. That thing was fantastic. Juicy, loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked peppers and onions, and great bread that holds it all together. For about eighteen bucks, you’re getting a big, heavy sandwich that easily stretches into two meals. Flavor, portion, price, all top marks. The second time I went, I got creative and did a half-and-half: half Pepper Steak, half Pastrami. They charge a few bucks extra for that (about $4.50), which feels a little steep, but I get it, extra work, extra prep. Totally worth it though, because the Pastrami side blew me away. Honestly, I think it beats the Pepper Steak. Tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. Next time, I’m going full Pastrami, no hesitation.
If I’m scoring it: the Pepper Steak gets a 9.0, the Pastrami combo around 8.6 just because of that upcharge. But the flavor? Easy 9+. Both sandwiches are massive, satisfying, and packed with that old-school deli energy you can’t fake. Overall, Giamela’s is one of the best sandwich spots in L.A., period. Big portions, fair prices, friendly staff, easy parking, and zero pretension. It’s the kind of place that reminds you what a real sandwich should taste like. I’ll be back, probably sooner than I should.“

“I have been looking for quinoa all over LA. This place serves it and it is very good. The mix has just the right amount of dried sweet cranberries and a few chickpeas. It was perfect. I had a salad with tuna avocado and egg salad. I was able to sub the egg salad for tuna which was very nice of them. They gave me a fork full of a mayonnaise free tuna they had prepared on the way out which again was a great experience. “The description of Ike's to me made it sound like Fat Sal's and I was excited. Truth of the matter is Ike's holds its own, and it didn't disappoint. It has a great menu mixed with Meat and Veggie options. “Daryl is a cheerful pick me up every time I stop by! He always has a huge smile, is exceptionally professional and so freaky fast! I’ve also heard him coaching and training others and I can tell he’s an amazing leader. I come by this location at least once a month and always have a great experience.

Parking: There’s street parking all around the intersection, just depends how much you need to walk. Service is usually quick enough that I can put in a quarter for 15 minutes at the meter and I leave well before it runs out.“

Downsides are the service is very unorganized. The ladies behind the counters are yelling and handing out special call in orders. Also, they have a secret menu thats not displayed anywhere. My order was forgotten and the order was wrong when I eventually got it. Also, the atmosphere isn't very welcoming. Its loud, hot, Dirty tables and floors. Its just a good fast food take out type place.

As of right now they brought back the MEAL OF THE DAY which includes 2 cookies or chips with a small drink and if you want a footlong it’s just an additional 3$ which to me sounds like a perfect price and meal. We go there for smash burgers mostly. I definitely haven't eaten every one, but of all the smash burgers I've had all over the city, Fat Sal's is to me the best. Lacey and crispy around the edge, American cheese as God intended on a smashburger, good bun and you can add lettuce and tomato if you want. Sometimes we'll get a loaded side of fries as well. The menu is full of delicious sounding, but a little over the top combinations of things piled up on a smashburger or a sandwich. I'd love to try them, but the regular smashburger is so delicious. They have a pastrami smashburger on the menu, but it has chicken tenders and a bunch of other stuff on it as well. I don't want all of that, I want a smashburger with griddled pastrami added to it, maybe some Swiss. The regular smashburger, maybe with an extra Patty added is the go-to for both of us.
The staff working there all knows and recognizes us. They're very friendly, and very customer service oriented. They always want to make sure we have everything we need and that we're taken care of, they'll swing by the counter where we're eating to see if we need any more ketchup, napkins, etc. It's really next-level service for this kind of a fast casual. Lots of TVs up high on the walls showing whatever sports is on, plus a Fat Sal's Venice Beach skater video running on a loop. Recommend if you like a delicious smashburger in a cool low-key environment with great service. And who doesn't?“

It's a very convenient location right next to the burbank airport (3-5min walk door to door to the ticketing area) so we got a quick bite to eat before the flight, instead of getting charged for overpriced airport food. “I stopped by this Subway this morning to get my wife her chicken noodle soup. We were already in the plaza for my wife appointment at the clinic. So when she went to her appointment, I came to this Subway to get her soup. I came in the morning so they were not busy at all. When I walked inside, I didn't see any worker so I looked at their menu. Once I started looking, a lady came from the back and greeted me. I asked her if they have any soup and she told me that they had chicken noodle soup or broccoli soup. My wife likes both but she prefer chicken noodle so I just asked for 2 orders of it. The lady asked me if I wanted cracker as well and I confirm that it came with the soup which she said it does so there no extra cost. My wife ate her soup at home and liked it.
