“I was visiting a friend in the East Bay and craving some authentic Brazilian açaí when I found this place on Yelp. The food is phenomenal! I got the very berry açai bowl and an empada, and I could definitely tell that the ingredients are high quality. Every mouthful was delicious, and even the 15 oz size is a huge portion. The bowl it’s served in is deep, so it feels like a lot. My friend got a coxinha, which was just as yummy as the other two. It was also twice the size of coxinhas I’ve seen sold at other places. Impressive! The staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere of the café is warm and cozy. Highly recommend!“
“Extremely helpful and friendly staff!They explained the different flavors in detail and were very patient with me and 3 friends deciding while there were a few people behind us. This was also like 10 minutes before closing!Got the matcha and strawberry which were such a good mix. Their matcha is perfectly balanced sweetness with a hint of bitterness from the strong matcha.I'm not a specifically dairy free person but their ice cream is the only non dairy ice cream that I have tried and really enjoyed. “I am not Vegan and these are so good!!! I picked these up for my boyfriend's family who are vegan. The apple fritter was definitely my favorite, but they are all yummy. The girl working was very patient and friendly when helping me choose which ones to get. She also threw in some extra donut holes! “Definitely prefer this place compared to its colorful competitor down the road. Aguas taste natural with none of that artificial color and flavoring going on (Highly recommend the Agua fresca de Plátano) and the variety of Antojitos are just as good. Ww could have had burgers and other diner-foods but we focused on their HUGE selection of ice cream varieties as well as combinations of flavors. “Post lunch milk shake! Clancy's is closed on Wednesdays, and I wasn't going to be denied! We swung over to Loards and got our fix. The shop is in front of their production facility. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. Not sure what happens at night though. We were greeted from the back room as we entered. Apparently, the person who works the counter has other responsibilities as well. She came out very quickly, was friendly and asked how she could help us. The shop is a throwback to ice cream parlors of olde. There was an open case with sodas and a coffin case with plenty of "pints" & "quarts". The flavor menu was on a board above and behind the counter. The service freezer was a older type design where each rectangle and two doors that were hinged and could be opened separately or completely removed from the opening. The doors were not see-through unlike a more contemporary ice cream parlor. She got a Champagne Sherbet Freeze which she thoroughly enjoyed. It started with a new can of Club Soda, the remainder was presented to us when the drink was completed. I got a Coffee Shake. It was all ice cream, no milk. Probably thick enough to stay in the cup upside down and thin enough to go through a straw. Not a bad deal for $5.95. Definitely worth a visit when in the area and craving ice cream! Next time, a Banana Shake with Banana!“

“Love this place. The manager is very nice. They're one of a few places that still make frozen banana dipped in chocolate and nuts. They also make excellent pies, especially mud pies. They have delicious assortment of chocolate. They even have sugar free chocolate. Must try if you haven't had it. ‼ They'll be close for renovation from Xmas till March 2024. I ordered my mudpie for Xmas dessert. Not sure what I'm going to do with them closed for 3 months.“

The coffee was really good but the Heath bar crunch was a lot more ice cream and not very many Heath bar bits. The double scoop with tip came out to nine dollars. We sat and ate our ice cream. The ice cream is really creamy.“

“We arrived just after they had closed and the man was so kind he let us in and said we could order anything although you could clearly see they were all cleaned up. He even went as far as to make me a fresh lemonade with chia seeds. While he was making it his daughter and another woman arrived surprised to see customers given the time and they too were too kind. The daughter quickly jumped behind the counter and offered to open up all the ice cream lids to see if any looked more delicious. Customer service amazing, very clean, DELICIOUS ice cream and the prices compared to other similar locations are unbeatable. Parking is a little tricky but oh so worth it! “I tried their seasonal pistachio flavor and my partner got the mint chocolate chip flavor. Mint chocolate chip was really great! I love the many flecks of chocolate vs. big chunks of chocolate. “The ice cream is amazing. The texture is difficult to describe but it is soft and creamy. I got the Oreo flavor and I made the mistake of only getting one scoop. But I will be back.I also tried my cousins ice cream and she got one scoop of corn and one scoop of cheese, hear me out and give it a try if you're feeling adventurous. It may not be typical ice cream flavors but they were amazing!!They do not do free taste samples though unfortunately, but I can understand. Some people just take advantage of free samples/tastings and they are located in a busy intersection that is very close to a high school so imagine if they had to give free samples to every single person... They should at least look into charging for samples because I want to try some flavors without committing to a whole scoop. I would definitely pay for like a little sample platter for sure.“
