“Sports Bar type, screen TV monitors around the bar area, all other dining for 4 basically,but can be set up for more in groups. When busy, it is loud in there. The salads are great for lunch and very large. Really liked the meats and food selection here. Way to go guys“

“5 stars for this type of place. As I always say, go i to places being realistic about what to expect. 2 of us went on a Friday at 5:30pm. It was busy. It was Happy Hour! We grabbed a drink and hung out by the bar until our table was ready. That took , maybe, 20 minutes. Not bad, in my opinion. We had a nice booth, and it was a fun atmosphere. We ordered happy hour appetizers and they came out in 10 minites. Super fastband friendly service. I think they have a well oiled machine going at this place. The pruce during happy hour can't be beat for the qualuty if food you get. I think its a great place to meet up with friends, have dinner with the kids, or a first meet-up kind of spot.“

“Our group, ten hungry people traveling from San Francisco to Los Angeles stopped in Bakersfield for Thai-Chinese foods. We were lucky, the owner did the cooking for us. Surprisingly, the quality of the food is authentically Thai and Chinese. Kee, the owner is a Chinese from Thailand and owns 3 branches in Las Vegas and other cities too. The service is excellent! and the facilities are very clean.“

“There are some really good things to share with you and unfortunately, quite a bit of bad. Starting with an awkward arrival process, service went downhill fast and stayed there - earning a 10% tip. Upon arrival, the hostess seemed flustered and instead of leading us to our table, she pointed where to go and said she would be there to bring "um, uh, umm" and I completed the sentence with - MENUS. "Yes, menus". They were brought promptly. Putting a drink order in......well, that wasn't so prompt. We both ordered iced tea, one regular and one raspberry. They were served to us reversed. Both of us got a surprise drink before swapping glasses. From time of order to food delivery was good and eggs were nice, hot and freshly cooked. Once the food was dropped off, we would never see our server again. There would be no checking to see if we needed anything or ask how the food tasted so far. We had to flag down another server for refills and to ask for butter. A third person handled the transaction with her iPad. She was walking by and noticed us sitting there with empty plates and glasses. Very disappointing service - start to finish. The Food: The chili verde omelette was fantastic and better than some of our other breakfast faves. The fruit was also very fresh. The chicken fried steak premade and fried - not dredged and breaded on premise. The hash browns are not made with fresh potatoes grated on premise like most top breakfast spots. These potatoes are rehydrated and fried. In an oddity, I chose a biscuit as my bread choice and that usually includes gravy. This was served as - just a biscuit. No jelly, no butter, no gravy. The food was good enough that we'll return and try again.“

“This is one of my favorite places to go in town~ They always have the friendliest staff and their food never disappoints! Their new yaki noodles and tazuna rolls are really great. I loved their tazuna roll because I got to build what I like in it, since I always have the hardest time choosing between what roll I want. Their tea is so refreshing to drink! I got the mango black tea and it was definitely the perfect thing to have in today's hot weather. Great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner :) <3“

We also got the Saigon Bento plate and everything in it was so tasty! But the one that stood out was the garlic noodles. It’s so flavorful! In addition to the ice cream I had to get some candy too. I love the original peanut (tastes like a softer Abba Zabba bar). So addicting! The pistachio is great too! The food quality has high standards, and the atmosphere is actually really nice for a downtown building. It still feels unique while keeping to neutral and abstract decorations.

Getting occasionally end-of-meal treats have always been so nice, especially with the occasional art pieces.

“This place has the best Mexican food in all of Bakersfield!!! We love their food!! My youngest son loves the fajitas. My oldest son has the chicken tacos. My husband has enchiladas or a tostada. “We were craving authentic Chinese food last night and came across Ching Yen. You can tell the owner, Sue, takes great pride in her food, and it really shows. We started with the Sizzle Rice soup and Hot and Sour soup. Both soups were rich and delicious with fresh ingredients. We ordered the small bowls and each was big enough for two people to share one and have extra. We decided to try the Combination Appetizer platter which came with two of each appetizer and two dipping sauces. The Sizzling Beef Iron plate and Chicken Fried Rice had quality fresh ingredients. You could tell the pride that went into each dish. Sue was a delight and expressed how much she enjoyed her customers. She made it feel like you’re visiting family for a home cooked meal. I’m a soup fanatic too, so I can’t wait to try some of the other soups on the menu. We’ll be back soon!“
