“We ordered chicken dumplings and garlic noodles + chicken sweeet and sour. All food tasted very good.\n\nThe room is small, but still good space between the tables.\n\nThe waiters are not serviced and follow little if you need more drinks. We had to ask about everything.“

“The decor was awesome. We loved the speakeasy Asian vibe. The food was fantastic. Walnut Shrimp and Kung Pao chicken for the mains. Amazing and plentiful. Tuna tar-tar for an appetizer. Excellent. Drinks were good. Service was awesome. We were there for New Year's Eve.“

“Had a great meal! Forwent ordering potstickers in order to try the enticingly named Gang of 4 ×4 - a delicious decision! The Mao's Hometown was just-right spicy, and I'm sure they put more than $2 extra shrimp on my order. Service friendly and prompt, loved the art. I felt as though I had wandered back into college in the early '70s.“

“Shoutout to Kim who, despite a jammed dining room, dozens of pickup orders, managed to greet me warmly & expedite my takeout request (silly me, ordered in person after the theater). I had time to watch her operate as the coordinator of all the food leaving the kitchen & wow, what a job! Thank you Kim!
The food is consistently fabulous! This time the salt & pepper tofu & veggie noodles, beyond delicious!
Only heads-up. Dining room is very, very loud and too much traffic walking through, as well as delivery people crowded around waiting, so as pretty as the space is, it wouldn’t be my pick for a quiet, conversational dinner. More like a bustling food court vibe.“

“Fantastic food at an extremely reasonable price. You can easily get full for 20$. We had a huge spread of dumplings, our favorite was the spicy pork dunpling and the pork and leek pancakes. Everything was delicious and seemed hand made. Service is very casual. This is a great spot to share food with people you care about you will get great shareable food and service that is attentive without being interrupting.“

“Good food. Good prices. Dry noodles good, beef noodles soup was very good noodles and average broth. Worst version of cucumber salad -- cukes were dry (!?) and sauce was boring. What I make at home is far far better. Food came up SO FAST and that was remarkable“

“Great lunch spot or to take to go. It’s a really good value for West LA especially. Love all the small dish options, feels like I could come here multiple times a week and not get tired of the food given the variety. I recommend the mapo tofu, king pao chicken, sweet tomato and egg, and eggplant. The mini buns are nice snack for the kids too. We make our own rice at home and pair with 5-6 of these sides. Feeds a family of 4 for about $25-30! Not a big space inside so gets a little cramped during busy hours.“

“We tried pepper beef (very tender, a little spicy), chicken in three cup sauce (very tender), oxtail soup, chicken noodle soup (some pieces of chicken were a little tough), chicken dumplings in chili oil (spicy), baby bok choy, green beans, and egg fried rice.
Everything was delicious! Will definitely order from here again.
Price range was $30-$50 per person.“

“My first time coming to Ping Pong and I really enjoyed my experience! The place is nestled in a busy shopping mall but inside it was very clean and well decorated. The food was great! Plenty of options with the option to share everything with the spin glass in the center! We definitely got our money's worth today! Lastly, the service was very polite and friendly!“

“Great value for good food. All food is paid for by weight except items from the menu, like won ton soup. The soup is just ok but the made to order Mongolian cooked right in front of you is great for the price. You can make it however you like. Lots of meat, vegetarian, with or without noodles and hot off the grill. So hot that we usually bring it home to eat and it’s still so piping hot we have to let it sit for a moment. There’s always left overs!
The buffet food is good as well.
My kids enjoy making their own bowls.
It’s an affordable, family pleasing, healthy and quick meal option!“

“Ordered takeout online and it was a real smooth and easy process. Food was ready on time and packaged nicely. Got the beef noodle soup with the flat rice noodle and the dry mix rice noodle. Both were really good. Staff was friendly at pickup. They have a very small parking lot, but I lucked out with getting a spot. It does look a bit run down on the outside, but inside looked nice and spacious.“

“Handmade with love. Tastes as if I'm at my Halmoni's house. Delicate, real and subtle Korean flavors of my childhood, not too sweet or salty. My bf and I ordered the steamed veggie dumplings, chive pancake ((better than my Sumo's! Shhh)), king sized veggie dumplings, side of rice and miso soup. Cooked to order -- be patient. Soft textures. Sweet, hardworking couple. Our fav is the steamed veggie mandu. Vegetarian friendly. Perfect meal. ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶 I love this place, if I lived in LA I'd be here all the time.“

“I missed out on taking a photo, but their beef sweet and sour pork is top-tier ( tangsuyuk ). The uni-jajang sauce is served separately and very generously; there was still plenty of sauce left after finishing the noodles. It’s so good that I'd recommend mixing it with rice as well. Nurungji-tang was so good! Love that crispy and chewy combo.“

“I typically door dash from a different Korean Chinese spot but I decided to try this place out last night. I’m so glad that I did because their food was so incredible. Reminded me of the Korean Chinese food I have when I go to Korea. The noodles in both their black bean noodles and spicy seafood noodle soup were delicious. Fried dumplings were an impulse purchase but omg, incredible. We ordered a few other dishes and everything was great. So glad I found my new go to Korean Chinese spot! 💜“

“Amazing Chinese food!
I came back and ordered Egg Fu Yung and Shanghai Chow Mein. Both excellent and super awesome old school! Great stuff!
Previous visit:
I’ve been here before and don’t know why I never returned till today.
The wonton soup is flavorful. Like as if they used MSG. Remember, MSG is not bad for you. It’s a lie that it is. Look up what George Takei has to say about MSG. I’m not saying they use it here, but the food is amazing! The wontons are great and the soup is packed with meat and veggies.
The chow fun is spectacular. Packed full of meat and sprouts and not much onion which is great! So good!
The orange chicken rules! Perfectly battered and tangy! So delicious!
The tea is great too!
Service is efficient.
They have a parking lot!“

“I love Coral Reef. They have amazing lunch specials! I paid $13.15 for tea, egg drop soup and a massive portion of steamed rice and a massive portion of chicken and broccoli. Service is extremely fast and there are always tables. The restaurant is very old school - the interior and itemized receipts are handwritten. My only complaint is I forgot to ask for an itemized receipt and they couldn’t email or text me a picture of it (for a work reimbursement). Still highly recommend. There’s a free two hour parking lot behind them as well.“

“Nu Great Wok is one of those spots you’re really glad you found.
From the moment you walk in, it’s clean, quick, and friendly — the kind of neighborhood Chinese restaurant that actually cares if you enjoy your meal. The staff is always welcoming and the food comes out hot and fresh.
What really stands out is the lunch menu. They have a great selection — all the favorites like General Tso’s, orange chicken, beef with broccoli, sesame chicken, vegetable dishes, fried rice/lo mein options — and it’s all at very reasonable prices. You get a solid portion, not a skimpy one, so it’s perfect for a workday lunch or a quick bite without spending a lot.
Food quality is consistently good: sauces are flavorful, veggies are crisp, and the meat actually tastes fresh, not overcooked. Plus, they’re pretty fast, so you’re not waiting forever.
Overall, Nu Great Wok is exactly what a good local Chinese place should be: tasty food, plenty of choice, fair prices, and friendly service. Highly recommend, especially for lunch. 🥡✨“

“A hidden gem: this small, un-flashy restaurant is in a weirdly-shaped traffic-island/mini-mall in the worst intersection in the world (Fairfax/Olympic/SanVicente), next to a Dunkin's and a liquor store. But the food is unreal: everything I've tried there is pitch-perfect, from the wide variety of dumplings to the salads, noodles, and fried foods. Our family includes two foodie adults, an increasingly adventurous 11-year-old, and a very unadventurous 4-year-old, and this is one of the few places that all four of us absolutely love. Particular favorites include the soup dumplings, potstickers, popcorn shrimp, chow mein, pork buns, and napa cabbage salad, but really everything is good. The noodles have that smoky wok hei flavor, the dumplings are perfectly balanced and textured, even the popcorn shrimp and chicken are expertly seasoned and fried. The space is basic but pleasant and calm. The owners are friendly and helpful, but in a subtle and quiet way, they're not going to hover over your table and make lots of small talk. They've been very patient with our younger kid, who can be kind of noisy. We love this place; it's much better than some of the flashier and more expensive places in the west 3rd st. area a few blocks north.“

“While the outside of this place isn't the best looking or inviting, when trying out the food it was good. There is seating, though since I'm a big eater and comparing it to the other places I wish the food portations could be a tiny be more, otherwise than that a good place overall.“

“I was a bit skeptical at thinking it is another restaurant serving s*ty soy sauce drenched noodles, but it was such a pleasant revelation how good the dishes were.
The Super Wok Special Beef is the one to order! It is incredibly tender, slight sweetness to it and buttery. It it served on top of a bed of sliced oranges. It is guaranteed to make you keep coming back for more. The dish is $19+ and serving is generous.
I went back another day to try out the lunch special. This time it was the crispy salt pepper shrimp selected. For $13.75, it came with a soup of the day, rice and the entree. Serving was very generous, maybe even 2 people can share one. It was excellent!
I regret ordering the prawn crispy noodles. Tasted terrible and too salty. Kind of like an overdone soy sauce noodles.“

“Saw this place on IG a while ago, but subconsciously just scrolled through the post not remembering the name. I just happened to stumble upon it while getting my car serviced, and realized it was the place when I saw they were serving people fat portions of food.
Hyped I found the place. Great price, portions. Can easily feed 2-3 people. Quality is what you would get from a fast food Chinese place which is also great.“

“My first time visiting this hidden gem on West Adams. Their bold flavors and perfect execution ranging from cold apps, to dumplings and noodle dishes.
I tried their new Kung Pao Chicken, and wow--it's a must-order. The balance of spice, crunch, and just the right amount of sweetness made it one of the best versions I've had anywhere in LA.
Of course, the classics here never disappoint. The dumplings are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor; the spicy beef noodle soup has that rich, comforting broth with just the right kick; and their fried rice is so good you could happily eat it on its own or alongside everything else. They can also adjust spice levels.
Beyond the food, the vibe at Mian really adds to the experience. Whether you're coming for a casual dinner with friends or just craving some of the best Chinese food in town, Mian delivers every time.
Highly recommend checking it out--you'll definitely want to come back again and again. extra NOM“

“The food is fantastic. Everything was fresh and tasted fantastic. Better than any other Chinese restaurant I've tried in LA. Also, their egg rolls are TRUE egg rolls like you find back on the East Coast, not the whimpy pinky-sized spring rolls. I ordered takeout, and the staff I interacted with both over the phone and in person were friendly and accommodating. Will be a repeat customer.“

“Five years ago, on a rainy afternoon in Los Angeles - the kind that sneaks into your shoes and makes umbrellas feel hilariously inadequate - my partner and I had just finished errands at a local bank in Studio City. The streets gleamed under a stubborn drizzle, and, hungry and thoroughly soaked, we went searching for shelter. We slipped into the nearby Green Apple China Bistro, like two weary ships at last finding safe harbor in a gentle sea of rain.\n\nWarmth wrapped around us instantly - the fragrant swirl of ginger, garlic, and sizzling woks felt like a hug from the universe. We plopped into a booth by the window, watching raindrops perform races down the glass as the city blurred into watery streaks.\n\nSoon, a parade of treasures arrived. New York‑style egg rolls - crisp and steaming, their golden shells crackling softly as we picked them up, stuffed with a savory mix of cabbage, celery, pork, and shrimp. Each bite released a warm, fragrant hug of flavors, perfectly balanced with a playful drizzle of sweet-and-sour plum sauce that danced across the tongue like a tiny celebration.\n\nTwo‑Flavor Shrimp - plump, succulent shrimp artfully arranged on a divided plate, dressed in two contrasting sauces: one savory with gentle warmth, the other bright, sweet, and tangy. Though distinct, the sauces came together to form a harmonious whole, balancing and elevating each bite. Caramelized walnuts added a delicate, nutty crunch, completing a sophisticated interplay of textures and flavors. Bold yet refined, this dish transformed every forkful into a memorable culinary journey.\n\nThe Pineapple Curry Fried Rice - tender chicken and succulent shrimp intertwined with crisp peas, sweet carrots, scallions, and delicate white onions, all embraced by fragrant, golden fried rice. Juicy pineapple added a luminous, tropical sweetness, while toasted cashews lent a subtle, nutty crunch. Infused with a gentle, aromatic curry spice, each bite unfolded layers of savory warmth and textural harmony - a refined, vibrant reinterpretation of a classic fried rice..., adding a cheerful tropical wink to the otherwise gray day.\n\nEach bite was a tiny rebellion against the rain, a delicious incantation that chased away the chill. The hum of conversation, the clatter of dishes, and the attentive staff made the dreary afternoon feel like an unexpected adventure in a hidden, enchanted corner of the city.\n\nWhen we stepped back into the drizzle, we carried more than satisfied appetites - we carried a pocket of warmth, laughter, and a whisper of magic that danced in the air well beyond the last drop of rain.\n\nNowadays, even five years later, we return to the Green Apple China Bistro with eager anticipation. Since I have no favorites and treasure the thrill of discovery, I select different dishes each time, delighting in the unexpected. Every plate, vibrant in flavor, texture, and aroma, holds a small surprise, turning each meal into an exquisite, ever-changing culinary journey. Each visit leaves a lingering impression long after the last taste - a tiny spark of enchantment waiting to be discovered anew.\n\nMaria E.\nCertified Sommelier & Cordon Bleu Chef | International Food Expert\nPresident of a Gourmet Food Company\n‘Bringing exceptional flavors to life’“
