“The steamed clams and mussels were the best I've had in years. Perfectly cooked, not overdone and small like so many places. The ribeye was delicious and the mashed potatoes that came with it were perfect 👌. Fish tacos were complex and delicious. You can tell they have an artist back there. Service was great and added to the experience ❤️. We went with a toddler and sat outside, luckily most people were inside, but they were very kind and seemed to enjoy her antics which always makes it more enjoyable for the adults.”

“This is AMAZING gelato!! Just came here with my kids after roller skating and it was the best treat ever! My daughter’s exact words were: “this is the best chocolate sorbet in the whole world!” And it really was. We also had the orange flower which was like a sweet cream with a hint of orange essence, and it went really well combined with the strawberry! My husband LOVED the pistachio, it’s real pistachio! Soooooo good, can’t wait to come back! The owner is really really nice too!”

What sets them apart is the quality of their organic, small-batch flavors. The Vanilla Honey Lavender is an absolute must-try; you can tell they use real, high-quality lavender. Their housemade waffle cones are the best I’ve ever had—crispy, fresh, and they smell amazing from a block away.

I also love their commitment to being waste-free by using stainless bowls for those eating there. Just a heads-up for newcomers: it is cash or local check only, so come prepared! It’s the perfect place to grab a scoop and walk around town. Truly a Fairfax staple that never misses.”

“Absolutely incredible food and service. This is true Italian cuisine of the highest order- it’s hard to find this level of authenticity outside of Italy. The porchetta and faro were perfectly cooked, as was the spaghetti and gnocchi.

I am sure this place is going to have a Michelin star someday - we feel so lucky to have discovered it serendipitously while trying to grab a quick and affordable bite around Fairfax.

Also, the owner and servers were such wonderful hosts. Fairfax is lucky to have a gem like this. We can’t wait to come back soon!!”

“Really good food - we got the Korean fried chicken banh mi, which had a nice sweet heat to it. And the curry tofu was also nice and crispy. My sister literally was drinking the salad dressing. Also they were very nice, making us a half veggie and half chicken banh mi.”

“I had the pleasure of trying the brisket sandwich twice and the chicken caesar wrap. They were both huge and very delicious! Would recommend to anyone wanting something clean and fresh! Their fresh juices and coffee are also wonderful. Next up for me is that breakfast burrito with the brisket. Glad to have this closer location in my home town! The staff are all wonderful and plenty of seating. Will be back soon!”

“Ordered a seeded levain bread to go, a lemon scone and the blueberry maple syrup muffin. Perfectly ready early and was notified which was great. The muffin and scone were excellent…tasty! The bread, which is a tad pricey (12.50) was overdone on the bottom so unfortunately the overpowering taste was burnt. Decided to salvage the excellent bread by cutting off the burned bottom! I have not experienced this at other fine, artisan bakeries in the area. May have to try the epi!”

Art Museum had lots of Original artwork and the whole property is full of awesome Movie Paintings. Gift shop is really cool. “I’m so glad we found this gem of a place in San Anselmo! My wife and I live in Brooklyn and come to the area every year to see family. This bar/ hang out spot is one of the most welcoming spaces in the area. The mid century / south west aesthetic instantly adds a coziness element. The staff are super kind, the drinks are so fresh and creative, and the pop up food was packed with flavor! Shout out for the space being very sensory friendly- large ceiling sound proof panels and wood on the walls to absorb noise. I will be back!”

“Arti Cafe is a hidden gem and I can't stop thinking about the food.

Came in after a week-long retreat and this was exactly the meal I needed. The butter chicken was rich, warming, and tasted completely homemade. The naan was perfectly pillowy. The chaat, bhel puri, and red mango were all incredible — fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. Everything felt genuinely healthy without sacrificing any of the taste.

But honestly what made the experience was SUKHWINDER! an amazing host with a warm, welcoming energy that made the whole meal feel personal. You can tell this place is made with real love and care.

If you're in Marin and you want authentic Indian food in a beautiful, relaxed setting — do not sleep on Arti Cafe. Already planning my next visit. 🙏”
