“Travelling in the San Diego area, and my wife finds this place. After my previous nights dinner arrangement fail, a pig trough would have been an upgrade. This place was great. Greeted with a smile, food came out fast and was excellent. Mongolian beef and steamed pork dumplings. I could have eaten a 100 of those dumplings. Great value, service and experience.“

“I recently visited Xinjiang BBQ, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a casual night out with friends or family. The staff was friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed.

Food: The menu offers a wide selection of skewers, from classic lamb and chicken to more unique options like grilled prawns and vegetables. The skewers were all grilled to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. The highlight for me was the lamb skewers, which were seasoned just right and had that authentic smoky taste that’s hard to beat.

“We celebrated my grandma's birthday dinner and she had a great time. It was 7 of us with 7 entrees that were absolutely delicious. Bree our front of the house expert was so awesome and helpful, came at the right times and her recommendations (Mongolian Trio , Korean fried chicken) were 10/10. My grandma left super happy and felt special with her happy birthday song and delicious dessert. 10/10. Recommend!!!“

“Our server was Roldan at the Chula Vista (Eastlake) location. He did perfectly with an order split between regular and gluten free, got everything the first time, & checked in efficiently without being intrusive.

We ordered the Chef's feast (for 2) and had leftovers. For the gluten-free entree, we substituted shrimp for the chicken in the Chang's Spicy Chicken (up charge $2.25), & it was excellent.

Menus do differ slightly by region, especially gluten-free options, but most are available in most places.“

“This is the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life thus far. I am a vegan and I love their salt and pepper tofu and orange tofu with vegetable fried rice and sauteed green beans. I would recommend this restaurant to Jesus himself! PAY THEM A VISIT!! For those who aren't vegan I would urge you to get the salt and pepper wings. Watching them transition from kitchen to customers tables is tantalizing!“

“Tasty & fair prices. I only give 3 starts to the service because the two times I've been there, I felt that I was being pressured to finish and go and I didn't like it. We ordered Lemon Chicken- such a flavorful sauce!, a chicken with basil and garlic- delicious and so many whole cloves of garlic -yum!, vegetable fried rice with lots of still- crisp veggies, and the only disappointing entree- egg foo young. The sauce was magnificent, but the egg foo young was a bit overdone and unremarkable, and even the sauce-full of pieces of pork and crisp veggies - couldn't save it. “I like this food hub. The multiple ordering kiosks are easy to use but can be hard to see when the sun is behind you.

Food comes out in a good timely order, and the hub offers a good variety of food vendors. There is very little outside seating, so the majority of the time, food is to go or deliver.“

“While this is one of our three top Chinese restaurants in our rotation, we hadn’t dined here in a while so we took our son & his girlfriend (who had never dined here previously) here. We were surprised they had added a few new items on their menu… One of which were Salt & Pepper Eggplant! We absolutely love their S&P Asparagus and it was hard not ordering it, to try something new but we did. We got the S&P Eggplant and it did NOT disappoint, it was OUTSTANDINGLY delicious!!! So happy to have discovered one of our favorite dishes that night. If you’re dining here, do yourself a favor and order it! The other three dishes ordered were: Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, and General Tso’s Chicken. All of those were delicious as usual as their typical dishes ordered here. Service was fast, food was served hot and fresh, all in all a solid night out and Golden House still serves some of the best Chinese food in the South Bay!“

“Another hiding Chinese restaurant I haven’t tried was just around the corner. The first thing that caught my eye was the Roast Duck ?, although dry, I was looking for the sauce for it but there was none. My main go to was crispy friend noodles , I got the combination one , the combo was great but didn’t see much vegetables in it. My favorite that evening was the beef chow fun. I’m not a fan of fat noodles but this one ☝️ was good. Overall the food was great! I would like to try the other recipes. Go there and and bring your friends to try ?“

“Believe it or not a restaurant with three different cuisines that works. Felt like. A good old country breakfast and found this nearby. When I got there I changed my mind and ordered machaca and eggs with flour tortillas.Saw some delicious looking sausage and eggs go by. I am excited to try this place for lunch or dinner.“

“Absolutely the star of the Grossmont mall food court. The food is is so good and legit. The family that runs it are very kind. Everything we've ordered seems to be made fresh so it takes longer than most food court options, but it's well worth it. They've been able to customize dishes such as using less salt for food that we are sharing with our toddler.

They are unfortunately closing up this month, but the good news is that they are moving to work at another business in their family, Chopsticks Inn, which is only about a mile away.“

“On business and stayed in National City. The hotel recommended this restaurant. They were right as the service was friendly and helpful. The food was really delicious with generous portions! Had a relaxing meal and even some leftovers for the next day. You will not be disappointed if you stop by here! The restaurant is a little older, but clean and well laid out. Kung pao chicken was crispy and had a nice amount of heat. Pork and Chinese broccoli was good. Thai noodles with beef needs improvement and more beef. It does take 15 to 20 minutes to prepare but the freshness makes it so worth it! The portions are good as well. The Oriental Cafe offers generous portions for generous prices and unless you've fasted the whole day you will be bringing home Leftovers.
The staff is friendly and efficient as they tend to the constant flow of customers that filled the humble establishment.
Some may take mark down this Cafe for its simplistic decor; but others, like myself, find it charming. And after trying their dishes, it only adds delight to find a nice whole in the wall that let's their dishes speak for themselves.
I recommend dining in because you will get a serving of their egg drop soup and it is absolutely worth trying. It's hearty flavor reminds you of the soup you wish you had on a cold day or when you're feeling under the weather.
This is an establishment that deserves its business and I am already planning on coming back and bringing more family to experience it themselves.“
